Villas El Rancho Green Resort

We just returned from our trip to El Rancho in Mazatlan. I must say the resort and service surpassed anything I could imagine! The villas were spotless, cleaned everyday. The grounds within the resort were breathtaking! I can't say enough about the staff, if you needed something, they were there within minutes. My husband and I just returned from a week in Mazatlan. It was our first trip to Mexico and our overall impression of the area was very positive. We chose this resort in large part because of the many favorable reviews posted on this website and I feel compelled to add a few "buyer beware" pointers. The previous post about "bugs" was very accurate. They were tiny, microscopic crawling bugs, but they were everywhere in the kitchen. We found our villa full of ants and had to use Raid several times to keep the ants off the kitchen counters and dining room table. The bathroom sinks had no stoppers in them. The villas are definitely in need of maintenance. One villa in our group had eleven nights out of 14 nights without hot water. Beautiful landscaping and beach, rustic accomodations, good food. Most staff was friendly and helpful.

We had the time of our life! The houses are beautyfully furnished in mexican style - every day perfectly cleaned. Although we had a fully equipped kitchen we preferred eating in the little restaurant - with view to the ocean. Dona Lupita, the cook, pampered our children and prepared exactly what they wanted. We had the holidays we always dreamt of - lying in a chair in front of our house in the shade of a palm tree, while watching our children playing on the beach.

Just got back from a week at El Rancho in Mazatlan. We had the most relaxing vacation. Just what we were looking for. This place is far enough away to avoid the onslaught of vendors and time share hawkers, but close enough to get to town easily if you wish. The grounds are beautiful - almost empty beach - very pleasant staff - good restaurant - and large, homey villas. A great deal for the money. I recommend it highly. You won't be disappointed.

El Rancho is a secluded resort on the outskirts of Mazatlan, directly on the ocean (no-bank beach). My wife and I were attracted by the resort's layout that offers maximum privacy. The units (called Villas) are like 2-level townhouses and are connected in groups of 3, each sharing only a part of one wall. Each villa has 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, a kitchen and a dining and living room. The villas are surrounded by lush green (banana and coconut trees, flowering shrubs, gras in between). We visited El Rancho the second week in February and found everything to be perfect for us. We didn't want to be in the"Golden Zone" with all the other tourists, so their location north of Zona Dorado was great. The beach was soooooo beautiful and clean. The staff there is friendly and accomodating. The villas are well kept and very comfortable, as are the grounds. We plan to go back as soon as we can schedule it!!!!

If you want to enjoy nature, relax... and stay at a Resort with a unique "personality", You cann´t miss this place! I found out that it wasn´t just another resort... Rocio Araluce

A boutique hotel property located among beautiful lush gardens, so private, and opens up to its own beautiful walking beach. The food was the best we had in all of Mazatlan. Little individual villas, so comfortable and beautifully furnished in Mexican decor with Mexican tile. A great place for family reunions, weddings, get together with friends. We loved this little Mexican Getaway, and it was the best time we had in Mazatlan ever over a span of 25 years!!

My family and me went three times at Villas el Rancho, it was beautiful and great. We love Mazatlan, the sea, the beach, the 'malecon', the food, and everything!!! At Villas el Rancho, Mazatlan is more beautiful, is familiar and also confrotable. For us, for our family it's like home. We hope to return there the next year with other italian friends.
