Great hotel...nuff said.
I just wanted to start by saying that I don't think I have ever come across a bigger group of babies in my life. "No TV in the bathroom" Really? REALLY? That is what concerns you. You are in Las Vegas! Anyways, the Vdara a fantastic hotel. I was slightly concerned when we first arrived at the airport because the Cab Driver had NO idea how to get there. If you don't have a lot of luggage you could likely save yourself $10 or so and just get them to drop you off at Bellagio; then walk across the bridge to Vdara. I am sure as times passes... more
amazing hotel for weekend getaway
My husband and I stayed at the Vdara for 3 nights in mid December. We got a great deal booking on expedia and got upgraded to a bigger suite because the deluxe suite we originally booked was unavailable. This suite had a full kitchen and a jaw-dropping view of the city and Aria hotel next door. All the furniture and decor were gorgeous, bed was incredibly comfortable, and everything was spotless. There was a huge fridge and two flat screen TV's. As some others have mentioned, there was no cutlery, but this wasn't a big deal to us... more
Vdara nice hotel on the strip but still working out the kinks
I stayed at the Vdara on December 10-12 with my wife. First impression was a nice open lobby with no casino though there was an interesting smell (similair to cologne). Almost smelled like walking into an Abercrombie & Fitch store. Easiest way for people walking to the hotel is via Bellagio. There is a covered outside walkway to the Bellagio tram. Our room was on the 30th floor (room 30010 paid $129 a night plus $15 resort fee), cool room keys just wave in front of the door. The deluxe room was spacious, had the small... more
A boutique hotel in Las Vegas
When I made reservations, didn't realize it would only open a week before arrival, but the Vdara was truly wonderful in almost all respects. The design is gorgeous, very elegant, fresh flowers everywhere, well-trained staff that remember your name, a luxurious spa, well appointed suites with a cushy bed, fine linen and towels, a wonderfully spacious bathroom, cozy bathrobes and Aveda products. The only minor negatives for me were the $15 resort fee - I hate to be nickled and dimed....just charge the extra $15 and be done with it, besides... more
Nice but with some odd problems
Beautiful hotel with great décor. The room was nicely finished and very spacious. The bedding, towels, and robes were the pinnacle of luxury. I love the simplicity of it- no casino, just a lobby, a bar, and a casino with hotel rooms. While some people have expressed concerns that Vdara seems sterile, I don't agree, despite the modern decor. Instead that dark stone and carpet and woods added a nice warm richness that I really liked. It is a little far off the strip and the easiest access to other locations is through the Bellagio or to take... more
Relaxing & Convenient
I just stayed there for 3 nights and I loved it. While there was some minor annoyances, mostly it was a great place to stay and I would stay there again. I have been to Vegas several times and have stayed in a variety of places, all being big casino's. I loved not staying in a big casino. My husband and I love to gamble, but it wasn't inconvenient that there wasn't a casino. It was quiet and smoke free, it was like coming back home after a fun adventure. Once Aria is open I think it will be fantastic for those that want gambling nearby.... more
Sparkly and new.. but a bit of a pain in the rear
The Vdara is a non-gaming/non-smoking hotel in the new City Center complex. It is also non-fun. There's an Asian themed restaurant (the Silk Road) and a pool and spa, but that's about it. The public spaces smell like an Abercrombie or Hollister store in an overpowering way - it actually makes the fact that the hotel is non-smoking almost irrelevant. The rooms are nice, but not any nicer than some of the other options on the strip, like the Venetian/Pallazo - which is our favorite. The keys are actually RF, so you just need to... more
If all you want to do is relax....
This was my first trip to Las Vegas so I didn't know what to expect.... This hotel was very nice. The staff was friendly and very helpful. The room was nice(not as big as I expected) but nice. You have to ask the staff about the free wifi since you have to pay about $17.00 for the use of it along with a couple of other things. The only thing was it was very cold and everything we wanted to do such as gambling, shopping, eating, etc.... had to be done in a different hotel. Most hotels have all this and more but I guess if you just want to... more
Two Steps Back
I travel to Vegas extensively for work, and have stayed at virtually every hotel in the city (at least all the halfway decent places), and from my experience, I think you can do better – much better. Vdara is the first of three hotels to open at City Center. This huge complex is not entirely open yet, but at this point you can kind of get what at least this building is about. First the good points: - The whole hotel/ rooms are non-smoking. This is a very refreshing change of pace to the typical Vegas environment. -... more
This hotel has set a bar that will be hard for others to follow...
We decided on Vdara since it is a non-smoking hotel without a casino in it. Last time we were in Las Vegas, we stayed at the Luxor and it was very nice. When we arrived to check in early, the room was not ready which wasn't a problem since check in isn't until 3 p.m. and we arrived at 1 p.m. So we went and ate and came back. We had originally booked a deluxe suite, the reception informed us that there was only one deluxe suite available and she didn't want to put us in that one due to construction still in progress. So the hotel... more
