Swiss - Garden Hotel

I had originally booked this hotel for 8 nights, but had heard bad reviews about this hotel, so changed it to 4 nights. Once there, I discovered it was a fantastic hotel. I was disappointed that I had changed my plans. The family rooms were excellent. I travelled with my husband and two teenagers and the room suited just fine. Very modern. The buffet breakfast was great, a variety to choose from. The location was ideal, few minutes from Butik Bintang. The staff members were so helpful and friendly.

The Swiss Garden Hotel in KL can best be described as a decent hotel, that is recommendable to others. It is good value for money. The room was comfortable and clean, and the location of the hotel was great. It featured a comfortable queen size bed, and a very quiet AC. The location of the hotel is great: it is at walking distance from one of KL's main shopping boulevards, and is by taxi only 10-15 min away from some of KL's major sights, such as the Petronas Towers. This is a basic 3* hotel and certainly not 4*. The hotels onus is on providing a high turnover, no-frills accommodation and does not strive for quality of service or for customer satisfaction. This is an extremely busy hotel with poor levels of staffing. On arrival, there was chaos in the reception area and there was a 35 minute wait at the Check-In desk! We stayed in a newly refurshished Premier De Luxe room. The room itself was fine but not very big, although we had to change rooms because of poor sound proofing - noise from next door (television). Breakfast is a pretty horrible, noisy experience with poor service.The hotel's hot water system broke down one evening with no hot water for nearly 24 hours. No apology or reason was given initially. The hotel is located right next to a busy street which is very close to the city bus terminal so you will see and hear hundreds of buses and cars all the time. It does not make any difference if you get a deluxe or average room they are all the same. The internet in room is a trick they will charge you almost a US dollar per minute for its use and business center charges 20 RM for half an hour. Other hotels they offer free internet access both in room and in the lobby so beware. Breakfast is risky, nobody is suupervising the food so kids... more

Hi, I stayed at Swiss Garden Hotel for about 2 days and 2 nights and it was a wonderful stay. I would not mind staying at the same place on my future visits to KL. The overall experience of the staying at this place was positive. Here are a few instances/experiences: a) Upgraded upon checking in: I arrived in KL late at night (00:00 hours) and was informed that there were no rooms with double beds for the Premier Suite which I had booked in advance. We arrived at the Swiss Garden after a 17 hr flight so needless to say we were a little jetlag. We checked in and went sightseeing for a few hours before returning back to the hotel for a good night's sleep. We were awoken around 9am the next morning to the sound of heavy drilling and banging. We rung down to reception to see what the hell was going on in the building to be told there was renovations going on on several floors. I stayed in Swiss garden for about 5 days from 20 Aug 07 to 25 Aug. The stay was very comfortable. I got a good view room in the newly renovated floor. Breakfast was good. The attitude of the staff, specially the business center, was very positive and they attend to you very promptly. Location is very central. Taxi, rail and buses are available in the vicinity. very famous shopping centers are located on walking distances. One of my complain was attended to by the staff efficiently. The free shuttle service to China Town is useful.

Was staying at Swiss garden hotel from 19th to 21st Sep 2007, after seeing the reviews at tripadvisor.com. This is my third time that I'm staying in a hotel in KL, and my only non 5 star hotel but it's my favorite! As my travel agent only allowed me to book a deluxe room under the special promotion scheme, I emailed the hotel to ask for an upgrade to premier deluxe room (their newly renovated rooms - Zen style, flat screen TV etc). After visiting Singapore, HK & Taipei on numerous occasions I can say this city is the best so far & Swiss Garden was great! We booked online through HolidayCity which being Malaysian?seemed to have the best deals & we went with the 'Premier Deluxe Room' which was on the 11th business floor with the complimentary use of the business lounge, with snacks , beverages & internet computer from 7am-11pm.
