Sunotel Central

I have just returned from Barcelona having stayed at the Sunotel for 3 nights with my husband. As advised we took the bus from the airport, which would have worked out perfectly if we had got off at the right stop! The hotel itself was lovely. The room was light and spacious, and was cleaned every day that we were there. We went up to look at the pool, but did not use it as we went to the beach each day. Absolutely incredible hotel, location is amazing, only five minute walk from Las Ramblas and Placa de Catalunya where you can pick up the tour buses, and 5 minute taxi from the beach and harbour. The pool and jacuzzi on the roof are clean and tidy, with fresh towels every day. The staff were very freindly, best to opt for a twin room and get a spacious bright room with good views front and back. the hotel is perfect greate location...3 min from metro station,nice clean room,friendy stuff...the only problem was because of the renovation was to noise i weak up from the noise 8 in the mornng,but because this was the only negative this august i will stay there also!!

Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights on a trip with my friend recently. The hotel was perfect and in a great location. We took the airport bus from BCN for 4.05€ and got off at 'Universitat' stop. The hotel is literally a 2 minute walk on the same street and we found it easily. Great Location! Hotel is immaculate, and smells clean and new. Stayed at the hotel for one night prior to joining a cruise. Hotel is very centrally located being a short walk from Plaza Catalunya. Staff were very friendly and helpful, granting late checkout etc. Didn't eat in the hotel, as there were plenty of local cafes for breakfast. Room was okay, spotlessly clean but felt rather drab and the laminated wooden floor gave the room a rather sparse appearance. Shower didn’t work properly. Pillows were very poor quality offering no support with there not being any addition pillows in the wardrobe... more

Stayed inSunotel Central for long weekend in June 2008. Location is excellent. Five minutes to nearest metro and bus stops right outside hotel to La Rambla and seafront. The top of La Rambla is right next to the metro. Hotel in all was clean, staff very friendly and helpful. Added bonus was the rooftop pool and jacuzzi, made a relaxing change to sightseeing. Hotel was in a great location - minutes from the Metro and about 5 mins walk to Las Ramblas. Bedroom was a bit small but adequate for the amount of time spent in it. Breakfast was plentiful and there was a good selection. Did not try the restaurant so cannot comment on it, Only downside was that the rooftop pool was not open until May. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Would recommend the hotel to friends.

Barcelona was great but unfortunately our holiday was spoiled by the restaurant not being open or indeed building work finished. We booked this hotel specifically as it had a restaurant in full operation, according to the web site. We made several enquiries before arrival to check this as we have both had surgery this year &did not want to have to go looking for restauarants in the evening after a long day sightseeing. My friend and I recently booked this hotel as part of a flight and hotel package through lastminute.com. On arrival at the Sunotel Central hotel we were shocked to find that building work was still in progress. Building began at 7am and was extremely noisy. There were building cradles adjacent to our window, permanent noise and no hot water. At the time of booking the hotel was advertised as having a pool and jacuzzi and was one of the reasons we picked the hotel. we booked into this hotel for my birthday and after reading the review on the company website that stated a rooftop pool with terrace and panoramic views we decided to pay the extra and take this one. i was a little concerned when i couldnt find any descriptions of it but thought with it being 4 star we wouldnt have any probelms. upon arrival we were greeted with the strong smell of paint and work men in the lobby. lots of step ladders and cans of paint. when checking in we were told that the hotel was under going re furbishment and there... more
