Great business hotel in KL
From the moment I arrived early in the morning everything worked exceptionally well. I was given a room right away and had a wonderful treatment in the spa to get over the jetlag. I stayed in a refurbished room on the 32nd floor with views towards KLCC. The room service and the business centre were good as was the buffet breakfast and the service was great throughout my stay. The hotel is undergoing refurbishment until the end of 2007 so I would not recommend staying there if you plan on spending most of your time in the hotel. I was... more
Jetlagged and they made my stay wonderful!
I was doinig a stop-over stay twice on my way to and from the Maldives. Both times I was jetlagged but they made it oh-so nice for me by giving me what seemed to be an isolted room away from anyone else. While the room was about the standard size for any American hotel, it felt very Peninsula to me. Nice fixtures, great bedding, outstanding bathroom and a PERFECT view of Petronas Towers. While I enjoyed my stay a lot, I was so jetlagged that much of seems like a dream...I sort of floated through. The only thing I didn't like,... more
Great service, disappointed with the renovations though
Stayed 4 nights at the Sheraton Imperial over the Merdeka (Independence) long weekend. Room was much smaller than we expected but clean and very comfortable. Staff were very professional and doormen pretty friendly, not so much the concierge and check-in counter. As someone mentioned, it was a pity the lobby was being renovated when we got there. Being ushered through the side entrance with the sound of workmen did not leave a good impression. Whilst we were notified by email that renovations will be underway for the duration of our... more
Ageing Sheraton Imperial
Stayed for the weekend (checked out mid day today). The hotel is currently undergoing a renovation which means: the side entrance is being used as the main entrance therefore the lobby didn't look grand and some drilling and hammering/noise from 9am until 6pm every day. The room was clean, spacious but the glass window was slightly mouldy (probably on the outside). The hotel is not that old but it is not very well maintained. The location is good. It is situated close to the Heritage Row - a few nightclubs, restaurants and local food... more
Lovely Hotel
This hotel was out of this world, when we checked in for our room earlier than was meant to be as we arrived overnight from England, the room wasnt avialable as check in wasnt until after 1200 and we checked in at 0900, they asked us to go to the club area and have a complimentary breakfast whilst they arranged getting our room ready early. The hotel is ideally situated at the monorail station, and also in easy distance for the shops etc. If you want to get a taxi to the airport the cost is approx MYR120 and there is a 50%... more
Fine hotel, decent location, great price
I thought this hotel was fine. It is older, but the views from my bedroom window were great. Room was updated nicely, so I don't quite understand other people's complains. Hotel service was good -- and they didn't nickle and dime you. I had an early morning arrival -- and they let me check in at 8am -- without charging any extra fees. I was able to drop my luggage off, take a shower and start my day. Food in restaurants was fine. Ordered room service for breakfast -- and it was a great deal with good food. The hotel is near the... more
Great value hotel
Stayed here twice now, a total of 12 nights or so in total. Both occasions in corner club suites on 30 something floor. Use of club lounge with free wifi and comp. evening drinks a welcome plus. Room is large and functional, great bathroom. Good desk with internet access in living room. Room service is pretty helpful, except they were initially unable to arrange room service cognac late at night (none in mini bar and room maid had managed to throw away my own "in use" bottle believing it empty). I had a series of conversations... more
Best Value Hotel in Kuala Lumpur
Stayed at the Sheraton on the occasion of my wife's 60th birthday. The professionalism, friendliness and efficiency of the staff made it a stay to remember. The delivery of flowers alerted staff to the celebration, and this resulted in greetings from the reception staff, food and beverage personnel and the food and beverage manager who arranged complimentary desserts in the hotels' excellent Italian restaurant. Over and above the outstanding service, the hotel represents excellent value. We paid £80 per night for an executive suite,... more
Nice Hotel
This was my second stay at this hotel, and I stayed from April 23 to 29 2007 due to a work conference. Positive - Large bathroom, many bathroom amenities including shower cap, shanmpoo, condtitioner, body cream, soap, cotton wool balls, sewing kit and a good hairdryer etc. Hotel is located just next to one of the monorail stops (about 100m away), so is easy to get around e.g. 3 stops to Lot 10 /bukit bintang shopping area, and a short taxi ride to the China town night market. Also if you want to not take a taxi from the airport... more
Great hotel
Stayed here for 4 nights in October on a business trip. Huge room with walk in wardrobe and luxury bathroom, great views. Found all the staff very helpful, from the waiters to the concierge. Breakfast and lunches had to be seen to be believed - huge variety of food. Close to monorail (1 min) so easy to get around, and has been said plenty of metered taxis outside. Admittedly bar area is somewhat lacking in atmosphere but to be honest, with the whole of KL waiting outside we didn't spend much time there anyway. If I went back to KL... more
