San Lio Tourist House

Everything stated by others here is correct. However it should be noted that the bathrooms are very small and the shower is a mere two foot by two foot stall. That's OK for me, I'm only 175 lbs. But if someone is large or somewhat rotund it could be a real problem to take a shower. Otherwise it is a decent place and Umberto at the front desk was GREAT.

We had an exellent three nights at the San Lio Tourist House. The hotel has a great location a couple of minutes walk to the Rialto Bridge and about 5 minutes from St Mark's Square. The room, though small, was cleaned immaculately throughout our stay and importantly was well sound proofed meaning nights of undisturbed sleep. Overall, while quite basic, the accomodation is good and the location excellent for the price. Recommended.

As seasoned travellers of more than 20 years, we came back from this establishment totally exhausted. We stayed for 5 Nights returning on Friday 18th May 2007. A little difficult to find initially as not very will lit up from the outside and was 11pm when we arrived. Once we got in everything was excellent. I am a Hotel manager myself and can be hard to please!! found everything to the highest standard. Staff very helpful and friendy. Security excellent felt very safe. Location excellent. Will be recommending to my friends travelling to Venice.

The location is excellent !! About 5 minutes away from Rialto Bridge where vaporettos and water taxis dock, and about 8-10 minutes walk to San Marco Square. Plenty of restaurants and good shopping in the area. The room we had, 101, was a decent size for a double. The other room we booked, 103, was cramped. Not a lot of space between bed and walls. This b and b was a great location - just near the realto Bridge. It was clean and a good base for sightseeing round Venice. Only warning is to check which room you are allocated. We had booked months in advance, but when we arrived we were told one of our double rooms was a bit small, and they gave us a 20 euros reduction. Room was very small, and bed was not full double - I fell out both nights!! Make sure you do not get Bruno room!!!!

Location: excellent. Near rialto which means you are at the central of venezzia Appearance: shabby from outside but lovely on the inside Room: Clean, spacious, well equipped with tv, hairdryer, heater controller and we got a patio too which is soo good! The hotel's location is excellent - only a 2-3 minute walk from the Rialto and 10 minutes or so from the Piazza San Marco. Detailed directions given to us by the hotel allowed us to find it without any difficulty. Arriving at the hotel at 12.30 (before advertised check-in time of 14.00), we had no problem in checking in and being shown to our room. I travelled with my mum and sister and we all found this very handy, safe and the staff were wonderful. We were right in the Heart of Venice in a place called Rialto. This accomodation was very centrally located to all sites of interest and we highly recommend it to future travellers.

This is an excellent place to stay, convenient location, amazingly clean, polite and very very helpful staff, who couldn't do enough to help. Fantastic value for money on the rooms - the extras (haridryer, shower caps etc) really made the difference. would definately recommend this and would stay here again
