Riad Lorsya

Riad Lorsya is located in the souks, right in the heart of the Medina of Marrakesh. It is a welcome oasis of calm, when compared to the frantic hustle and bustle in the souks. Everywhere is beautifully decorated and we particularly enjoyed relaxing on the roof terrace. Our suite (Samsara) was very spacious and delightfully furnished ensuring a comfortable stay. This is the best place you will ever stay in! We were meet at the airport by a lovely taxi driver who drove us as far as he could and then another man took our bags in a wheelbarrow to the Riad. The staff at the Riad are all amazing. They couldn’t be any more welcoming or helpful. The staff will provide you with maps and can help you organise any activities that you wish to do. Riad Lorsya is in the heard of the Medina. No sense to go to place like Marrakesh and to stay in 4/5-star western hotel. The riad has most of what you need : helpful people, clean rooms, great decorations, walk distance from Djemaa el Fna, Arab/African atmosphere. It is a bit challenging to find it, but this is one of the charms of such place, lost in the old city and its impossible streets. The lunch/dinners (if you order such) and the taxi services are a bit overpriced, but not a problem. Wants to feel read Marrakesh?... more

About 5 minutes from the main square, the Djeema el Fna, The lorsya is a beautiful villa with the classic Maroccan courtyard, plunge pool and rich decor. You are made to feel at home by the wonderful staff, who offer you endless mint tea. dinner on the first night of your stay, and any amount of advice and help on what to do and how to get around. We were really well looked after and would recommend it to anyone!

We enjoyed three nights at Riad Lorsya. The inclusive dinner on the first night was the best food we ate in Marrakech by a long way and the welcome could not have been better. The rooms and the riad as a whole are nicely decorate and furnished and aside from the periodic call to prayer at the local mosque is in a very peaceful location. There are two rooms and two suites. We were in one of the rooms 'perle d'orient' which was a bit narrow (the bed only just fits in), but other than that very comfortable.

I would recommend the Riad Lorsya wholeheartedly. We stayed at this Riad at the end of February for just one night, but even though our stay was so short we were treated like long lost friends. The rooms are beautifully appointed and have everything one could wish for. The Riad is in an excellent position near to the Square, but it is a haven of peace and tranquility and wonderful to return to after a day of hectic bartering in the Souks!

A narrow alleyway leads to a rather fobidding door with metal studs. Behind this is an oasis of peace and tranquility. Fatima and her team looked after us very well and we were constantly provided with mint tea by Absoud. There is a very pleasant roof terrace with views of the Atlas mountains. The riad was full of character and our room was spotlessly clean. Our bedroom was up a steep and narrow staircase and would not be suitable for young children, the very elderly or those with a disability. We would definitely go back

wow - we cant be more than happy to say how Beautiful and helpful the Fatima and co were at the Riad - after missing our flight ( due to FOG) from Bristol - they were able to accomodate us in a beautiful room "Eau De ROSe " a few days later is a very comfortable room with stunning decor - we met the owner and felt very welcome - very sunny Terrace with views of snow capped Mountains - - Breakfast in the morning and Tea & Coffee - - Every thing was arranged for us Transport to Airport - Thank you all very much for a well... more

This Riad is delightful and exquisitely decorated. The welcome was warm, special thanks to Fatima, Abdou, Lamya, and Amina for making us feel so good. The location of the Riad is perfect too, just 5 minutes walk to the main square, but incredibly peaceful. We would recommend the Riad Lorsya and would happily return .

Stayed with friends for 3 nights. After a slightly tricky time getting there (ring ahead and they will meet you) we were welcomed to a beautiful Riad. Great Location - very easy to drop off shopping and then head back out to the Souks!! Roof terrace fantastic. Staff could not have been more helpful. Would defiantly recommend staying here -an oasis of calm in a crazy but fun city!
