Rasananda Resort & Spa

Well we book this hotel having read the reviews on Trip Advisor. I must admit the hotel was pretty good. Very relaxing. Don't get me wrong we did have a fabulous 8 days here but there are a few niggles for a 5 star hotel. Housekeeping generally turned up late in the day (one day we had to call them at 5pm to see if they were coming - although in all fairness they turned up within 10 mins of the call. ) The restaurant food was excellent but in the Nouveau cuisine style. We stayed here for 3 nights in a lagoon pool villa.There is a lot of building work going on directly at the back of the back row of villas at the front of the hotel so if you are not in one of these you will not be affected,but we where. They were only there during daylight hours but means you cant really relax and enjoy the wonderfull rooms or great plunge pools.The main hotel pool and location are stunning the staff are really nice and try their best but struggled a little with english but you are in their country after all but you do... more

we stayed for 3 nights at the end of a two week trip to samui and phangan as a treat.our expectations where high as we had read other reviews and this was the result of being slightly dissapointed. It was not the hotel or the rooms they are stunning but a lot of building work is going on directly at the back of the back row of villas so if you are not in one of these you would not be affected,but we where, they kept the noise to between 9 and 5 but definatly affected the ambiance of the place.The gardens need to mature and lots of little... more

My boyfriend and myself have been there for 3 nights during a roundtrip. After having read the other reviews we had high expectations and they were all met. Due to the soft opening we had the 3rd night free and so an acceptable price for an Ocean Front Garden Suite. We really loved the Villa and the attention to detail it was arranged with. A perfect hideaway in a true 5star ambience. Definitely recommend to go there!

Just a quick one - we were booked in a resort next door and were not that happy and were walking around and came across this place - curiosity got the cat! We asked to look around and were given a great tour by very helpful staff- we decided to try the menu as we love Thai food and immediately decided! Our experience at the Rasananda did not start well. We booked in December and did not know that it was going to be a soft launch due to lack of information from our tour company. We slowly pieced together the information that the hotel was still under construction (one third complete). I saw Rasananda every day as I walked along the beach, and it looked wonderful. So much so, that I dropped in one day to have a look round - and that very afternoon I moved in. I was not disappointed. In fact, I can honestly say it was truly wonderful. We had a beach-facing villa, with our own pool and garden, fabulous bedroom, shower room and beautiful outside shower in an enclosed section of the garden. WOW - paradise found! We found this hotel by chance whilst on our honeymoon in Asia. We had booked into, what we thought was the only luxury hotel on Phangan (it wasn't luxury by any standard) but on our first day spotted Rasananda whilst walking along the beautiful Thong Nai Pan Noi beach. The Rasananda is a brand new hotel on the rather remote side of Koh Phangan. The area is currently very quiet, and those looking for nightlife should look elsewhere. There are 12 rooms currently opened and I was told that the rest of the planned 44 rooms, spa, and fine dining restaurant will be opening next year.
