Prescott Inn Kuala Lumpur

After reading the reviews, I decided to give Prescott a try with my family. It certainly met to my expectations. As I was travelling with my spouse and 2 children, we decided to take the Superior room for RM140/nite, which has 2 super single beds, large enough to accommodate the four of us. The sheets were clean, though I overheard some guests complaining of bed bugs - we didn't have that problem. Prescott Inn is well situated near the monorail and LRT. We had a room at the back, which was very quiet and had an interesting view. The furniture was old but solid, and the room was bright and welcoming. The beds were especially comfortable. Breakfast was better than some - we are vegetarian and we did OK, but did have to pick a few things out of the rice and noodles. My girlfriend and I stay here for 10 nights, the people could not have been friendlier, all the staff were awesome ( it would have been better only if some of the people at the front desk spoke more English!!) The hotel itself was older and falling apart a bit, but always clean. When we got there the TV didn't work, the fridge didn't work, the cupboard doors were off their hinges and a light was out ... but when we asked them to fix it all they did ... so that was great... you can't ask for more than that! This was fantastic value in Kuala Lumpur, which we couldn't find anywhere else. The location of the hotel is ideal, a two minute walk to a monorail station which will take you pretty much anywhere in town. There was a proffessional feel to the hotel, and them seemed very keen to help us enjoy our time in Kuala Lumpur. My husband and I stayed 4 nights here. It seems the whole establishment is being refurbished. Although our room had not yet been overhauled, the bed was extremely comfortable (and huge), it had tea/coffee making facilities, mini fridge and good storage, not to mention the great views from our room towards KL tower and KLCC (Petronas twin towers). I had booked from Asia Web reservation and it costs $148 per room (For three persons). This is our first of four hotels during our 5 days/4nights trip around to Langkawi and Kuala Lumpur... Monorail is very near : 3 minutes!.. Maju Junction Shopping complex around 1 min, Sogo shopping mall around 5 minutes, Masjid India selling textures and silks around 6 minutes, RM$1.60 using monorail to Bukit Bintang. 10 minutes walk to Chow Kit road!... very good value for money! clean bed, nice smelling bedsheets, pillows, clean bathrooms, big bed, big room, big nice breakfast, smiling friendly staff, good & safe location near the mrt station, really good budget hotel almost like a 4 star one! After spending two nights in a highly rated but disappointing guest house in Bukit Bintang with funky cock roach infested shared bathrooms, dreary breakfast and nosiy rooms, we booked the Prescott for only $2 more a night. We opted out of breakfast which would have added another several dollars. We were very happy with our stay there. Staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. Rooms were immaculate with tea kettle, tea and cups. It was very quiet and we liked being in a neighborhood full of real people not just other tourists.... more

we just returned from our holiday in KL. we found this hotel online and chose it purely based on the reviews and the fact that it was pretty cheap! But we were let down! when we reached the hotel, there was no concierge to help with the luggage, even though while checking out, we got assistance! weird! it was pouring when we arrived and we were with a 9month old baby and no one to offer any assistance. Like the rooms but not the breakfast! We booked 2 rooms, Superior (RM130) & Deluxe (RM140). Reccomend you to pay 10 ringgit extra for the Deluxe, as the rooms is much larger, bigger bathroom & fridge! Rooms was satisfying. Clean & in order. Tea making facilities, hair dryer, Iron, hanger provided. In bathroom, shower cap, gel & soap given. Laundry service available. TV with Astro Channels. Friendly housekeeping staff.
