Playa Los Arcos

What a great location! Everything you want is right outside your door. The rooms were nice and our balcony lovely. This hotel offers nice entertainment and a friendly staff. A real bargain!

What can I say..I was scared to stay at this place after reading the reviews on this site. My fiance and I went to Vallarta Dec. 26th-Jan. 1st. Our travel agent booked us a GREAT room at this hotel. It was a suite---great tile floors, a very nice skylight, and a SPACIOUS balcony. The bed however, was ROCK HARD...very uncomfortable. We chose the All-Inclusive option. I am leaving January 3rd for my 14th trip to Playa Los Arcos in as many years. Each year I gets better and better. Although it is not a five star hotel it is real Puerto Vallarta. From Jesus at the front desk making sure my room is perfect to Ramon taking my luggage to my room to the chef cooking my eggs exactly the way I requested. Everyone does their upmost to please with a smile.

We stayed in the hotel from 27 November-12 December and initially we were given room 126. After a flight of 13 hrs I almost broke down when I saw this room. I could hardly turn around in the bathroom and the room had 1 window, but you couldn't see through it and it couldn't be opened. Access to the room was by glass sliding door. It was a hellish room. Had trepidation about staying here having read the prior reviews. However, while I found the " superior " room and its bathroom small, and with limited view of pool and ocean ( compounded by the piles of Mexical tiles outside my room and the workmen re-doing the roof off the patio near the foyer), I found its staff ( especially Edgar at front desk and bell-boy, and Carlos, the security guard) to be helpful and gracious. My wife and I love Mexico. We have been there 5 times. Two times in Mazatlan and three in PV. mazatlan got a little too boring, fewer people the last year we went there. So we decided to go to PV. We love it! Lots more people and activity. We stayed at the Los Arcos. We had seen it from years before when we were exploring the town (1984). We thought it was a great value. We didnt eat there much, because there are too many great restaurants in town. The booze was a little spendy but so what. We said that we would go all inclusive next time.... more

We were treated like third class citizens at this hotel. The front desk management was arrogant and rude, and we were given two different rooms that were both sub-standard. Our reserved room had been given away prior to our arrival, and we were told that it was because they had a "full house" - so we ended up with their last room. The baby crib we were given was a hazard to the child. Booked this hotel at Obitz. It's showing as a 4 stars resort hotel. it costed me $70 a night after tax. I thought the price was ok for a resort. I was so disappointed once i reached the hotel. Its located in the old town. The receptionist wasnt friendly at all. She sent me to the room #228 which is at the corner with no windows and balcony. The room stinks. The air condition wasnt working until I made a complaint. They shut the hot water down after mid night. They charge you with any of the 1800 numbers you made, even the ones that didnt go... more

My husband and I just got back from a 4-day package with SunTrips. I read the reviews here before we left and I was expecting the place to be a dump. Much to my surprise, it wasn't as bad as I expected. The rooms weren't great, but we spent more time on the beach than in the room. The only annoying thing about the trip was the hoardes of Mexicans on the beach trying to sell you trinkets. Literally every 5 seconds someone would come up to us and try to sell us something. I have stayed at the Playa Los Arcos 3 times now. other hotels in the price catagory simply do not have the location or service. Staff are friendly and helpful. You are right on one of the best beaches in PV. Your within walking distance to almost any thing you want and if you want to explore you are near a major bus stop. Around you is great restaurants, shops, and clubs. I made the mistake at staying at a hotel near by once.
