Playa Grande Resort

We stayed Thanksgiving week at the Playa Grande and had a great vacation. The resort is very clean, the service excellent and the 4 pools great for kids and adults. We thought the food was reasonable and breafast was especially good. While Playa Grande is a short walk into Cabo San Lucas (the older end), the resort is one of only three on the Pacific side and is nicely isolated from town. This was our first visit to Cabo and we stayed at the Playa Grande Hotel and found it to be delightful and entertaining. The two Bedroom Penthouse our friends owned was aesthetically elegant overlooking a memorizing beach view. We were especially pleased by it's location as it was only a 5 minute walk to the marina for fishing and sunset activities and another 10 minute stroll to the middle of downtown. The Playa Grande is a first class hotel and we will be back.

Absolutely fabulous!! We went on this vacation not expecting much (we were hesitant about this destination) and this resort made it one of the best vacations we have ever taken. We did not think much of Cabo itself, but this resort is beautiful. We will visit Cabo again only if we can stay at Playa Grande. The rooms are very spacious and the pools are awesome. beautiful, nasty employees. Difficult people at the front desk, make your stay miserable.

Nice resort, however, given the limited number of lounge chairs at the pool...there is a daily game of chair claiming which begins at 0700 (pool opens at 0830) where guests run out to the pool area and throw towels on the chairs, then disapear. One day we left the pool area for a short walk on the beach, with the intent of returning to our chairs. When we returned, one of our towels was missing. world class in almost every respect:architecture,view of the Pacific,not all,but most service personel,proximity to downtown Cabo, relaxed atmosphere. The worst we can say about Playa Grande is the room chairs and sofas belong in a mobile home not a resort of this stature. (we are owners here and have been trying to get furniture upgrade for three years now)

We just LOVE Playa Grande! We have been coming to Cabo for over 10 years and we have stayed in lots of places and this is te best!! We have 2 separate weeks a year that we stay here. We love the pacific side. You get to hear the waves at night and they can be amazingly loud. It is not on a swimming beach so if you want to jump in the waves forget it!! We stayed at the Playa Grande for a week starting Aug. 31, 2003. And we have nothing to say but the best when it come to the staffs of the facility. From the security people to the people behind the counter at the front Lobby. Our room was immaculate and was kept that way (thanks to the maid of course). Oh, I love their private beach. Playa Grande is a safe haven from all the vendors that will start their attack as soon as you hit the streets or Medano Beach. The staff were more than helpful. The morning paper was slid underneath the door every morning. The beds were turned down at night. The pool was gorgeous and the breathtaking views were addictive. The waves crashing at night lulled you to sleep. No wonder this is rated a Gold Crown resort. When it is done, this will be a little paradise away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Cabo.
