Sucked. How's that for a review?
This review is a bit dated. Almost a year to be exact. I'm a regular poster but for some reason this one slipped by me. The rooms, while cool that they're up in the hills and on stilts, are WAY over-priced, under-serviced and a bit dodgy. The people who run the place are total morons and could care less about guest services. AVOID THIS PLACE. But don't take my word for it, go and read the other reviews. Happy Holidaying. scott
do not go there! be ware!
disgrace!!! dirty, expensive, staff not polite, food terrible, pool not working, rooms are old and dirty, no clean bed sheets, place is under construction.... is that enough?
not value for money, but great location
The beach resort offers very poor value for money with non-existent service for the hefty 3,500 baht we paid for a seaview bungalow. The bungalows were simple and clean and perfectly fine, but the bathrooms needed an overhawl for that price. However, it was nice to be set a ittle back from the beach and with a view that so ,mnay of the other bungalow operations lacked. The hotel's evening entertainment was a bit annoying, with cheesy music blaring until midnight. There was a very sweet litlle bar just a little further down long beach... more
Cut the evening 'entertainment'
We booked our 4 night stay here through Sun Smile Tours. They are based on the right hand side as you walk up the jetty and into Ton Sai upon arrival in Phi Phi. They were very helpful and contacted the resort on our behalf. The price was the same as if we had booked direct. We paid 3500 baht per night for a beachfront bungalow excluding breakfast. When we arrived we were greeted by very friendly staff and given a drink and a cold towel. The bungalow was a little tired inside but was perfectly clean and the bed (2 made up... more
Unbelievably Bad!
Words can not describe how disappointed I was with this hotel. The rooms are basic and run down, the staff have no idea how to run the place and are very rude and unhelpful. We couldn't get served drinks because the fridge was locked and nobody knew where the key was!! To make matters worse there was loud construction noise until 10 pm. Large piles of dirty dishes were left out in full view overnight. At breakfast a cat went around licking dishes on the neighbouring dining tables that remained to be cleared while staff idly watched on. This... more
Terrible DON'T GO!!!!
the resort is overpriced. terrible rooms, NO telephone in rooms so you need to climb up and down the mountain for each thing, also NO SATTELITE TV, one thai channel if lucky. incompetent staff at reception and horrible service. can stay at much better places for less. this was WORST hotel ever and the most expensive. DO NOT GO THERE!!! Save your money and your vacation!!!!!!!!!!
Some definite problems here.....
The Good: - Excellent snorkeling right out front....but you have to go early (before 9:00 a.m.) before the day-trippers arrive....and you have to avoid the longtail boats going back and forth which is a little unnerving......look for the black trip reef sharks!!!!! - Decent made to order breakfast included in rate. - Enjoyed the fire show at night. - Found a great reasonably priced restaurant short walk down the beach in front of Paradise Pearl Bungalows. Good food. The Bad: - The A/C is not powerful enough to... more
The Bates Motel.... Thai Version
This hotel was horrible! It was double the price of almost all of the 5* resorts in which we stayed throughout Thailand. The room was the greatest downfall. First off, it is a 5 minute hike straight up hill. I thought this would be cool, as there would be a view that would be worth the hike. Unfortunately, to no fault of the hotel, the haze was so heavy, we couldn't see much further than the waters edge. Upon entering the room, we noticed that the place was run down. Horribly run down. The urethane or enamel on the flooring was chipping... more
rip off don't stay!!!!
This " resort" is a complete rip off. It was the WORST hotel we stayed in on our entire thailand/singapore trip yet cost as much as some stunning 4 star resorts. First off on arrival there was mix up with room, we had booked tripple but told on arrival that only had doubles... after dealing with incompetant staff at reception for over half an hr we had to then pay extra for rickety bed, more specifically springbox. The bungalow was supposed to have telephones in room but didn't so everytime needed something from reception had to walk down a... more
The Beach Resort, Long Beach
We booked into the Beach Resort, which is more expensive than many on the island, only to find it very much underconstruction. The noise starts from 7am to 6pm and wakes you up. Also the pool is tiny and dirty. When it is finished (I estimate March 07) it will be a nice place to stay as the huts themselves are nice (although not as luxurious as expected) but there should be a discount while work is carried out. Phi Phi seems more expensive generally hence why they can charge THB 3500, otherwise it would seem a lot to pay.
