Now Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa

I asked for an ocean view room, and I got a nice view of the ocean to the left and a view of a dead swamp to the right (mosquitoes only bad at dawn, assume dead bushes because last hurricane dumped salt into mangroves) Previous reviews pretty much correct, stony beach, and at full occupation -was about 20% when I was there- would mean too few chairs and strain the restaurants, etc; rooms/mattresses super; help friendly. First I would like to start of saying that I really enjoyed my stay here at the resort. I cam down for my honeymoon from December 18th - 23rd. My wife was pregnant so we didn't want to do anything more than relaxing and getting away from our hectic schedules. Good Points: 1. The Room were quite impressive. My wife and I stayed at the NH Riviera Cancun from December 4th, 2008-December 11th, 2008. We visit the Mayan Riviera generally 3-5 times per year, and have stayed at a wide variety of AI properties from Cancun to Tulum. Just got back yesterday from a quick 4 day 3 night trip with my young adult daughter, we were just looking for a quick relaxing getaway from the cold northeast. For the price on Book-It.com, it was certainly worth it, but the resort is still BRAND NEW and a lot of kinks need to be worked out. The single biggest problem is the mosquitoes, we got bitten up the first day we were there. I think they need to spray at night. It seems that the people who write these reviews are of two categories: those who had an amazing time; and those who had the "vacation from hell". I am stuck right in the middle.... On the upside, everything in the resort was new;albeit not quite complete or "finished". There is always something magical about a "virgin resort". I stayed at the riviera cancun from dec 4-9th and i have to admit i both agree and disagree with the people who already posted. First off let me say during our whole trip there was maybe at most 100 guests? We loved the privacy and the feeling of being the only people on the whole resort. Hola! just got back 4 am this morning from the NH.. and so far the reviews have been dead on.. I will try not to repeat too too much.. we stayed november 30-December 7 2008.. .. When we arrived we got to the hotel at 11 p,m . Oh, boy... First of all, I am a person who is known to have infinite patience, a positive outlook and a "don't sweat the small stuff" attitude. However, our stay here this past weekend sorely tested my tolerance! My boyfriend & I just got back from the NH Riviera Cancun (in Puerto Morelos 20 miles south of Cancun) early yesterday morning. We booked this hotel through Bookit.com. As advertised on this website the hotel was truly opened on 11/21/2008, and we got there just 4 days after this grand opening, and stayed for 4 nights. The hotel will appear alot nicer when all the landscapes are finished. The rooms are beautifully decorated and furnished with modern looks. House keeping is twice a day. We feel truly lucky and privileged to be able to give our very positive first impressions of edenH—now officially known as NH Riviera Cancun! This is a beautifully designed resort with much to offer. We feel very confident in saying that when this resort has spread its wings, it will definitely fly!! In our opinion it has high potential down the road to be an upscale luxury resort.
