Novotel Barcelona City

This hotel is rather new, and it shows: staff was very friendly but inexperienced (everybody seemed to struggle in their job). I liked this for the non stereotyped conversations. Lots of students working there. Room are very big, very pleasant, very modern. restaurant is average food. I would avoid. There is absolutely nothing to do in this area (10mn run from the Beach). I stayed at the Novotel for 4 nights. The hotel itself is nice and new. The rooms are nice. The pool area is pretty. However, each morning, I had to hunt down the housekeeper to get the items needed for my coffee/tea service that is complimentary in the room. They never refilled it. I called the desk on three different occasions for an iron to be brought to my room. Each time, they said they would take care of it. It never arrived. Years ago we got married when we were students and had no money for a honeymoon. My husband promised me then than one day when we will have the money and the time we will go on a proper romantic getaway. We made reservations in January for three days in May. I stayed at this hotel with my partner at May 2010 for 3 nights. I found out that this hotel is brand new and has been opened on April 2010. So I decided to stay with it. The location of the hotel is not central, but it is well connected downtown by metro and tram lines. I made my reservation at www.accorhotels.com web site, providing my credit card details to guarantee no-show. My wife & I visited the city over the past 4 days & stayed in this hotel. Generally it's a clean hotel like the other reviewers mentioned, prob bcos it's a new one. The service however has much room for improvement. The creme brûlée from room service reached our room cold.. & no one picked up the phone when I tried to call them again. The rest of the food were not impressive either. on another occassion, we tried the food in the restaurant but had the same verdict. While not centraly located, it's easy to reach the city center by metro, the hotel is brand new (we stayed there in its first week) and it's definitely worth it. Modern rooms with huge windows and electric blinds. We could not try the pool, but it looked amazing. Great views of the city and Jean Nouvel's Agbar Tower from the rooftop. Staff were nice, flexible and helpful, and did their best to accomodate our friends (a couple with two young kids)

I secured some cheap flights to Barcelona in January and then perused the internet to try and find some accommodation. All the recommended places on Trip Advisor were sold out so I had to cast my net out further and found this place. I realised much later that we were to be there for Grand Prix weekend. Stayed for 2 nights on this brand new hotel. The area around the hotel is outside downtown, but a nice area, with about 5 minutes walk to the metro. After 4 stations with the metro, you arrive to Plaza Catalunya. Its very easy to go with the metro in Barcelona, cheap and quick. The Metrostation is "Glories". This is a new Hotel rated 4*, but without any warm ambiance. It is clean and the staff is very friendly. The good thing is they have Wi-fi in the whole hotel, the bad thing is that if your Wifi does not function, there is no ADSL. The location is pretty remote from the city center.

I have stayed at Novotel Barcelona City for 4 days during the easter holidays. The hotel is in a very convenient location near Glories metro station and near Agbar Tower. Near the hotel you can also find a hop on hop off bus stop and a very nice shopping center. The hotel was new and I was the first that I stay at the room.
