Booked this hotel through Sol Hotels direct on internet, and flights to Palma by Jet 2 also on internet. Sol Hotels do claim that if the price they give you on their site can be found cheaper elsewhere, they will refund the difference, and give an extra 10%. (This was not applicable in our case).
Hotel was excellent - for a long weekend, the hotel and situation in Palma couldn’t be beaten. We went Thursday and returned on Sunday, just the right length of time for a weekend break, Friday train to Soller and tram to Port Soller and return by coast road to Palma, Saturday mooching around Palma, and Sunday morning prior to return relaxing by the pool. Sun shone the whole time.
Breakfast is buffet style, with everything imaginable on offer.
Hotel overlooks the Yachting Marina, and although it is quite a long walk to the Cathedral and Old Centre, taxis are constantly available from outside the hotel, and the cost each way was approximately 4 euros per taxi. Hotel actually told us that it was cheaper to use the taxi.
This hotel is used a lot by business people during the week, but seems to have the right mix for business/pleasure. Pool overlooks the Bay of Palma, decent size, pool bar, public rooms large spacious air conditioned and very nicely furnished.
Excellent, very reasonably priced Italian restaurant nearly next door where we ate each evening.
Only complaint could be that our room had a side view of the sea, and therefore overlooked a very large empty derelict swimming pool on the other side of the road, which was filled with rubbish, and beneath the hotel were some sleazy looking night clubs, and it was rather noisy at 4 am on the Sunday
However, as the room was on the side of the hotel, we did get the late afternoon/evening sun whereas the rooms overlooking the front were in the shade at that time.
Other than that, Hotel receives 100% marks for cleanliness, location, food, service, facilities and a wonderful long weekend break.
