Great fun!
This resort is fabulous! We never left the resort the whole week! Gorgeous pool overlooking a great beach. The service was also really wonderful! Everyone is very friendly and eager to help! Several things were VERY over-priced and some things were great deals. Great deals = massages (package of 3 for only $140 USD!) and they were really good (I recommend Anita!). Also a great value was the meal plan. You can get a package of 7 breakfasts and 7 dinners for around $200-300 USD per person and you can use the credit to upgrade to one of... more
Unfinished Resort
I booked two, two-bedroom units for my family of 13 from Sept. 19 to Sept. 26, 2003. The following is my evaluation of that vacation. The Myan Palace is located on the Mayan Rivera about 40 minutes south of Cancun on Hwy 307, quite a distance from any other town or tourist attraction. The entrance from the hwy is impressive as you pass through the guard gate which is manned 24/7. It is about one mile to the temporary lobby which is located on the left of the property. There is considerable construction going on as they are building the... more
"Beware of Timeshare Sellers"
Stay away from the morning get together breakfast they offer you at check in. It is nothing more than a hard sell timeshare presentation. If you say no to their way over priced offer, be ready to be highly insulted and treated as a leper thereafter. Granted it is a beautiful place, however I have been to alot of places in the world that are just as beautiful. We still enjoyed ourselves by doing our own thing, relaxing by the pool, swimming in the surf and horseback riding on the beach. Can't relax on the beach due to the locals pestering you... more
The Best Vacation Place I have ever been!!!!
I had the time of my life at Mayan Palace Acapulco! It's very expensive but well worth it ~ the food is excellent (breakfast and dinner*pasta*). There is a daily staff program to keep the kids busy ~ doing sports, painting, cards, contests, etc. The pool is 1km long!! With waterfalls and bridges throughout it, making it lovely to sit in a quiet corner or splash around in the waterfalls! The resort is right on the beach itself ~ the sand is extremely hot * just warning you * and if you want to buy some silver or have your hair braided... more
We are lifetime Timesharers, It's the BEST!
All of my life I have traveled, owned and stayed in different timeshare units. The Mayan Palace, Acapulco is far and beyond anything I have ever experienced. Not only are the grounds emaculant, but the staff and the people are extrodarinary! We have been going to the Acapulco for 21+ years and about 8 years now at the Mayan Palace. We will return again in November for 2 weeks to look into trading our timeshare into full time ownership. We will then return again in December for a 3 week stay for Christmas and New Years, with our adult... more
honeymoon spot
The palace was beautiful. My husband and I were there for our honeymoon. We stayed in the honeymoon sweet with a beautiful view of the beach and we even saw dolphins jumping out of the water. The pool is fantastic! Oh but be careful of those time share workers!!! DANGER!!!!!!!!!!
why be an owner, when you have to pay for it ALL!
Well, unless you are rich and money is no object,I don't suggest buying timeshare here.We purchased 6 units @ 60 grand, and were shocked to find out when we finally got to use it, that you still must pay to enter waterpark, pay for jacuzzi, and even a hut,if you wanted to lie under one.We stayed from June 6 thru June 20th.Two weeks was more than enough to know we made a mistake. The train didn't even work, while we were there. Just can't figure out benefit of being an owner when you get the same treatment as someone just paying for an individual... more
Beware of the train ride
Beware of the train ride at the Mayan Palace, it is literally falling apart. The wheels come off, and the driver stops and puts them back together with a hammer. Two wagons came apart when we were in the middle of the ride. The food is expensive, and not so good. We ate meat cooked over burned oil. Our door had a broken security latch and it took the staff 3 days to fix it. However, the called daily to get us to buy a time share. If you think of relaxing on the beach, forget it. There are hundreds of vendors, and they won't leave you alone... more
Wow, Just Plain Wow!
An absolutely awesome resort. I am a jaded New Yorker, Stayed in Five Star resorts the world over, I demand it all and I demand it NOW! Where to start? Room: Huge and very nice, No cramped quarters here. Twice daily maid service, Huge Bathroom wonderful when there are two of you. King Bed. Jacuzzi for 2! (Works for me!) Every request was taken care of promptly. Amenities: The Pool is bigger than big, snakes it's way all over the place, you can find your own corner and be alone. Spa very nice, Game Room, Activities if you want them, Good... more
The best!!!
I have stayed at Vidafel Mayan palace for one or two weeks every year since 1992, I have to say when I purchased the time share the palace was under construction, but still beautiful. We have done all that acapulco has to offer and never had a bad experience! The Resort itself has lots to offer --A great day spa, resturants, bars, Great staff and very clean and not to many people. The Mayan is very secure. We enjoy going out to dinner in town and hitting the discos awsome! One thing I will say is if you can't afford to go on a vacation to a... more
