Maritim Jolie Ville Royal Peninsula Hotel & Resort

We booked this hotel after twice being let down by a travel agent on the internet for our original choices of the Savoy and then the Jaz Mirabel Beach,so we did not have any prior knowledge of this hotel.On arrival we were a little apprehensive because it was for our silver wedding anniversary.We were impressed at the reception area and it did not take long to book in.We booked an executive pool view room but although the room was fantastic it was about 200 metres from the pool.We did complain about this and we were offered an alternative... more

Just returned from our 10 nt stay in the Royal Peninsular. After comparing this with the higher prices charged to stay at the other Maritim hotels, I would definitely recommend the Royal Peninsular. The hotel, it's grounds, pool and bedrooms are all immaculate and very clean. The staff are a little slow, but I got the impression that's just the Egyptian way! Don't pay to go on half day snorkelling trips (very expensive) they are not anywhere near as good as the snorkelling from the beach at the Maritim Golf resort which you can catch the... more

My husband and i have just returned from a weeks stay, we went for our 5th wedding anniversary having spent our honeymoon at the maritim in mauritius we knew it would be a good standard and we were not disapointed. The hotel is set in beautiful gardens with the bars and resturants set in one area,and the rooms which are in bungalows are dotted around the grounds,making it really quiet and spacious. We stayed at this resort from the 5th Sept the 19th Sept. The room was very large we had an executive, could not fault the room or the cleaning of the room. The lad that cleaned our room made different things every day from towels, like a crocodile, a snake and a swan he had these set out on the massive bed. The resturant and it staff were very good. We stayed in the maritim between the 11th sept 08 and the 18th sept 08 for our honeymoon. We looked for ages to find a hotel that did not have more bad reveiws then good and this one does, with good reasson this is a really good hotel and must be one of the best hotels in sharm. The hotel is buitiful with not a spot of dirt anywhere the staff are very friendly and the rooms are massive. We stayed for 10 days at the hotel in early September 2008 and it was very quiet with only about 125 guests. There was no problem getting any sunbed or sitting wherever you wanted around the excellent and substantial pool area. The temperature was always in the late 30's but nearly everyday there was a nice cooling breeze. The food is very good with plenty of choice although it is only in the main restaurant where you truly experience the "all inclusive" deal. After reading all the reviews for the hotels surrounding, this sounded like the best resort to stay at in Sharm. On arrival to the resort, the staff were helpful and friendly, drinks on arrival and took our luggage to our room. The resort is really spacious, everything is on one level and was an excellent layout. The standard room which we stayed in was big and very clean, bathroom was also big, with a bath made for 2. Stayed at the Maritim in Aug 08. Hotel grounds and rooms are very good. Food is generally good. Beer is OK, wine is dreadful. Staff are helpful as is the general manager who really put his self out to ensure issues are resolved. All inclusive is here, as I understand it, is typical for Egypt and only local alcoholic drinks. Only the beer was drinkable. Confusion can happen because there are 3 Maritims near Nama bay and only this one is listed on trip advisor. The best point is the Swimming pool. Just returned from a 2week stay at the Maritim Royal Penninsula and i thought i would write an honest review to help others. The hotel itself is stunning with the main focus of the resort being the enormous gorgeous pool area. We could not fault the cleanliness or service in this hotel and the rooms are stunning.. but there still are a few things which need to be addressed before they can classify this hotel as being complete. My husband and I had a great week here as our honeymoon in May this year. The staff are great, the rooms are fantastic and very clean! Unlike other hotels it would appear no-one got the dreaded stomach bug whilst staying at our hotel and the staff were so friendly! They arranged a seaside dinner for just the 2 of us and closed of a section of the seaside resturant in their sister hotel and we had about 5 staff and a chef catering JUST to our needs!
