Logis Grand Hotel des Gobelins

On another travel site this hotel had near perfect reviews. Unfortunately its far from true. Its location was okay but it is distance from major attractions like the Eiffel Tower, Champs Elysses and so on. The room no. 19 was extremely tight. They charged us for a triple room but it was a single room with a roll away bed blocking the only window in the room. I stayed here in October this year with my mum and my teenage sister. We shared a triple room which was reasonably sized for three people and meticulously clean and quiet with a gorgeous bathroom. It's in a very good location with a metro station just around the corner and within reasonable walking distance to Notre Dame (it took us about 45 mins). and there is a small supermarket down the road which we used to buy bottles of water etc. Breakfast was simple but lovely and the staff there were the nicest people you will ever meet:... more

The room on the opposite side of the Bd. St. Marcel was very quiet. The space was good enough for one person. The bathroom was perfect, spacious and clean. The big bathtub together with elegant tile wall was extremely pleasant after a week with shower-only small bathroom in Italy. Although we only stayed here one night, we found the staff friendly and helpful, the room (triple) was quiet, clean and adequately large for ourselves and our teenage grandson. The bathroom was modern, the continental breakfast good. The only downside was that the location was a bit of a walk from the metro and restaurants, and one must get used to the tiny elevators in Paris -- often fitting only 2 people or one person and a suitcase.

We stayed a total of 7 nights at this hotel. The hotel is nice enough and the rooms are about what you would expect (clean but not large), but the staff made this hotel a good choice for us. Almost daily we requested directions to our different destinations and without fail, the staff were responsive and helpful, even Googling and printing the results. It is near a Metro stop, Place d'Italie, that is a major connecting station. The only problem was noise ... mainly from sirens as there is a hospital nearby.

I stayed here for 2 nights on business in October. I've read with interest a recent review where the reviewer complained about the guy on reception at night and I have to add my moan about the same chap - he was particularly unhelpful with me also whether I was asking about using the internet (don't bother its a nightmare and kept crashing) or ordering taxis, or whatever. Stayed at the hotel for 2 nights. The hotel itself was very smart and lovely. The only drawback was that I emailed the hotel a few days in advance to ask for a room on one of the lower floors as we were moving to Paris and had loads of luggage. I had an email back that said 'we the hotel are full'. This kind of put me off a bit, as I thought they could at least have said they would try, even if it was then not possible. We stayed there during the last week of September. The hotel is clean and staff very helpfull. Its close to the Metro and there are many cafes closeby

This hotel made a good impression right away due the friendliness of the reception staff. The superior room (smallish room, fair size bathroom and ajoining corridor) was maintained in a spotless condition throughout the stay. Located near a metro station, and a good selection of useful shops and restaurants the location was fine. The double glazing kept out the street noise. My teenage daughter and I recently stayed 4 nights in a twin bedded room and very much enjoyed our visit. Convenient location, close to Metro stops and surrounded by neighborhood bakeries, cafes and shops. There's even a Champion food store and a tiny convenience store, open until midnight. We felt we'd experienced a real taste of Parisian life. We loved the spacious, immaculate bathroom and the tall windows which opened onto a quiet side street.
