Catalonia Majorica Hotel

2 April 2006. Just returned. Lovely hotel, friendly and efficient staff, spotlessly clean. MAKE SURE YOU GET A FRONT SEA VIEW WHEN BOOKING which is right across the bay of Palma - ab. fab. Good buffet breakfast with lots of choice. Would definitely return. About 45mins walk along the front to central Palma - No. 3 bus runs from 5 mins walk away and very cheap or taxis plentiful about £4 each way.

Had a lovely few days here from 28th February. Breakfast was superb and set us up for the day. Spotlessly clean and friendly staff. 20 euro deposit for pool towels a bit steep but totally refundable.Number 1 bus very convenient. Bit of a walk up the hill but not too bad. Mondo Cane restaurant straight down the hill on the right was excellent in same road as hotel. Shut sundays I think. Hotel evening meals good too.

Stayed at Catalonia Majorica for long weekend break. Our room overlooked the port and was a beautiful sight to wake up to each morning. The hotel was spotlessly clean, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the food was excellent. The only problem is it is up a fairly steep hill so you do need to be able bodied. Would certainly return.

Just returned from a short stay at the Hotel Catalonia Majorica. Nice, clean, friendly hotel with helpful staff. Spacious room with great view overlooking Palma Harbour. Quite a way from the main shops and Cathedral but buses are frequent and very cheap and taxis can be called from the reception and arrive very quickly! All in all, very pleasant.

We stayed here for a 4 night break and had a great time. The hotel is clean, the staff very friendly and whoever complained about the dining room must have been at a different hotel. The food at breakfast was multi choice but I would recomend the fresh made omelets with different fillings made for you by the chef. The dinner was excellent value and again was multi choice with a good selection of salads and hot dishs, again use the chef for a choice of steak, pork, fish and pasta meals. We stayed during August 2005 and although the hotel was clean and modern it was small and lifeless, better suited as a business hotel. We found the staff efficient, but only friendly if you make the running. The rooms were adequate, but on the small side, although the views are great and I could have spent all day watching the cruise liners etc coming in and out of the harbour directly in front of the hotel. This hotel really does have something that many others don't - and that's maybe because it's small. I'm a BBC journalist, so am used to staying away, but the majorica certainly has an undeniable charm. It's clean. The views are certainly some of the best you could get anywhere in the world. Some of the staff are spanish and grumpy, some are spanish and friendly. Stayed at this hotel for 3 nights mid October. The sea views from the bedrooms are fantastic. Although, the balcony door did not lock and our room was very small. The drinks at the bar are reasonable priced and they have a good selection. If you like a continental breakfast they have plenty of choice. I wouldn't recommend the cooked breakfast because it was always cold and soggy. We hired a car from the airport and found the hotel by spotting it from the main road and guessing our way up the hill. Stayed here towards the end of September with a girlfriend for a chill out week. Room was very spacious and the bathroom allowed for the clutter of 2 girls and still looked tidy. (We did get cold water for 1st day but a quick word with reception soon had it sorted - they seem to know that there is a problem from time to time). I had read all the reviews before booking , so had a good idea of what to expect. My wife, daughter (1.5yrs) and I spent 5 nights here. The hotel is clean with friendly, engaging and helpful staff. We went half board which is much easier with young children. The evening buffet was fine, healthy and supported by a reasonably priced wine menu.
