This Hotel is the best one we have ever stayed at, in Cala Bona or on the Island of Majorca. Food brilliant, Rooms fantastic, Staff absolutely wonderful - can't understand what people complain about. We have been staying at this hotel since our son was 2 years old and return each year - wouldn't consider booking another hotel in Cala Bona. Don't want to give any more away, as we wouldn't want to be able to book for another year! Try the hotel out for yourself and appreciate paradise.

Returned yesterday from a brilliant holiday at the Hotel Atolon. The hotel was in the perfect setting with excellent views, room was a good size and cleaned daily. Hotel staff really friendly, food was lovely both breakfast and evening meals. Great choices of meals, and everyday there was something for our 2 year old to eat. The pool area was lovely, plenty of sheltered areas and sun traps away from the pool.
Cala Bona and Cala Millor are both great places to walk around. The beach at Cala Millor was a lot better, only a 5 minute walk.
We have throughly enjoyed our holiday, no complaints at all. Will definately be going again.

We arrived on 16th April - opening day for the season. The staff were friendly and curteous, The entrance to our particular room was dark and we couldn't find the keyhole but we let reception know and this was rectified almost immediately. The food was of a high standard with a wide choice of both hot and cold with a daily special for the eveing meal and for breakfast there was continental/full english toast/cereals and fruit to choose from along with tea/coffee and fruitjuice. There was evening entertainment on three of the nights we were there and this helped to get the holiday started. The pool was a bit cold but this was due to the time of year and the fact that it isn't heated. The accommodation for us a family of 4 was a bit cramped but was clean and there was a daily maid service. The rooms are basic with no television or kettle (but this can be hired if you require it). There is a games room in the basement where you will find a pool table, air hockey and pinball. There is also pay as you internet access should you require it. This is a lovely family run hotel and we look forward to returning.

We are a family of 4 (older children) who have just returned from another excellent 2 weeks holiday at the Atolon. We do have high standards and the Atolon has met these for 3 years in a row. Yes, the hotel is basic but it was very reasonably priced - no plasma TV in the rooms but we don't need or want that. However, it is spotlessly clean with towels changed daily and the bed linen weekly or on request. We have always found the reception staff (Lynda & Margarita)to be extremely helpful, booking taxis and offering advice on various issues e.g. hire cars, trips etc. We have stayed in different rooms across the hotel and all have been fine, some slightly larger than others but all had some form of sea view (we did pay for a full on sea view one year), 2 had tiled floors and 1 had carpets which personally we don't like but for the amount of time spent in the room it really wasn't a problem. The dining room and bar staff have been there for many years and are a pleasure to know; Pedro the 'general' marshalling his troops but always approachable and friendly. Jonathan is so likeable, funny and great with kids and Fernando is quietly efficient. This is a very reasonably priced small hotel and so no there isn't much in the way of 'luxury' but it meets our needs with a variety of food from the 'british' type roasts, pastas and great salads to very spanish casseroles and fish dishes. The breakfasts both cooked and uncooked are frankly the same fare you will have seen in hotels the world over. It's quite small compared with other hotels in the resort, family owned and many people like us go there year after year because it is family friendly but with no kids club and 'in your face reps'. Our kids have made friends who also love it and so we've booked again for next year already. The pool area is in an excellent location and yes, the best position sunbeds are 'booked' early but that's life! There are always enough to go around. The entertainment is mixed to try to please the variety of guests (older couples to families) and not always to our taste but we did enjoy a few of the evenings and you are not forced to stay there. The resort itself is lovely, with busy Cala Millor (great beach and lots of shops) on one side and the quieter Cala Bona with its picturesque harbour, bars and resturants on the other. Unless you're very hard to please and let's be honest some people are - take a chance on the Atolon, I doubt you'll regret it.

We stayed in the hotel for 1 week in Aug with our son who is 21 months old.. the location was brilliant , but the room was so tiny! but we just enjoyed the time we had as a family and was mainly by the poolside most days in which the views are amazing - just ashame about the hotel itself needs a bit of a referb. the meals were ok. a varied choice. we seamed fine. would recommed the boat trip on the glass bottom boat, that goes around the different resorts. we paid $20 each and little ones under 3 are free. the resort is very friendly. would also recomed to hire a bike - its hilarious - they have a bicicyle path in which is wider than the path ways to walk - ha ha!

Horrible place. I thought places like this no longer existed.
Disgusting food, obtuse staff. Dirty carpets in rooms. Stinking of stale smelling cigarette smoke.Requested a change of room on arrival. Second room not much better. Meant to overlook gardens. Landfilled site would look better.Dirty table linen. Bed linen not changed the whole of our stay. Though clean towels daily.
A proper shocker. Should have its three star rating removed. Stayed in better hostels while backpacking in India.
Stanard of evening entertainment. Working man's club would have thrown the "turns" out.
I believe there are a few reasonable rooms and these are the ones shown in brochures but I can assure you we did not see them.
Cala Bona and the beach at Cala Millor made holiday bearable. The hotel, nothing good to say about it at all.

we stayed at hotel atolon for 2 weeks, we really enjoyed our stay, when we first arrived at the hotel we were a bit disappointed with our room!for a family of 4 it was very small, with a poor view. Great pool area but have to reserve sunbeds early in the morning. They cater more for grown ups in the restaurant than for children and we were a bit shocked when they served chips for breakfast!overall the food was good but some nights better than others. The waitors at the hotel were quite grumpy and they only seemed to be polite to the people who bought drinks at dinner so the ones who spend money basically. The cala bona area was beautiful right on your doorstep, lovely shops, lovely beaches, cala millor just a 5 minute walk away with even more glorious shops. overall the whole holiday was great and we would be happy to go back next year but would be wlling to pay extra for a sea view!best cappuccino in cala bona go to buonissimo 30 second walk from the hotel ,very friendly couple who run it ,do great pizzas too!
- Advice: lovely relaxing break great weather all in all a wonderful holiday.

Plus points: Great location as on the front and handy for harbour and Cala Millor.Clean basic rooms. Pool has the best views of any hotel in resort. Were a mixture of couples, and families. No noise in hotel after 12. The resort has a lovely habour with good restaurants, and bars. No 18-30's etc.
Minus points: Food a bit hit and miss, and dining room experience underwelming, with the drinks waiter and waitresses more interested in chatting to their favourites than offering a consistant service to all guests.
Would go back at right price as enjoyed the resort.

Having just returned from a 10 day stay at the Hotel Atolon, we would be more than happy to return. This family run hotel has a fantastic aspect.
The staff are warm and welcoming, Pedro and Jonathon are efficient and extremely entertaining. The rooms are clean and comfortable, towels changed daily, rooms cleaned daily. Food is good with a variety to suit most tastes. Requests for special diets are accomadated as much as possible.
Safe environment for young children; we noticed several people who were holidaying alone, this evidenced the friendliness of the staff so much, in reality no one was alone in this hotel, the family run atmosphere is transposed to single guests. This made me think that if I was to holiday alone I would be more than happy to go to the Hotel Atolon.
We will definitely be returning to the Hotel Atolon, which is a first for us.
There is always room for improvement, but not too much for this venue; it's cosy, comfortable and friendly. Unless you absolutely must have breakfast served in bed, then you wont go far wrong booking into this hotel.

Just returned from brilliant holiday in Majorca. Cant praise it all enough, location was amazing, views from hotel were stunning, children didnt want to leave. The beaches are beautiful and clean. Stayed at the Hotel Atolon and were very impressed considering it is a three star hotel. Rooms were basic but very clean, plenty of clean towels daily and a shower to die for at the end of a hot day. The food was fantastic, full english breakfast very morning along with tea, coffee, toast, cereals, fruit, salads & yogurts. Evening meals always about six different choices, all nicely cooked and well presented. The staff were very pleasant and capable and work very hard to look after the guests. We as a family could not fault it and are looking forward to returning next year.

We stayed at the Atolon for a week from October 3rd 2011 and greatly enjoyed it. The food was of a very good standard and variety but we did wish it was warmer. It is a pity after all the hard work of the chefs is spoilt by it being cold when put on the plates. If the hotel would only invest in a Bain Marie to ensure hot plates this would go a long way to rectifying the problem. Also a carafe of water would be much appreciated on the dinner table or available to help oneself to instead of expensive small bottles of water. We have found this provided in many other hotels around Europe and further. The location of the hotle is outstanding and all the services provided cheerfully. The evening entertainment was in the main exceptionally good.
