Stayed for 2 nights at this hotel. Loved it. Travelled with 2 children aged 8 & 10. Had a very spacious, clean triple room overlooking small, quiet square. The beds were large and comfortable. The location was superb. Great access to the San Zaccharia vaporetto stop. Lines 1 & 82 great for grand canal. Also caught water bus to Lido one day and Murano another. Direct waterbus from Pl. Excellent location, close to St Marks but very quiet. Very helpful and friendly staff. Happy to look after our bags until 5pm on check-out day. Very nice decor and bathroom. Excellent value for money. Basic breakfast, you may want to pop out to eat in a local square.

My Wife and I have just returned from a 3 day break to Venice. We flew from Liverpool to Treviso Airport, where there was a very cheap and convenient transfer bus. We then travelled by water bus (AcTV) to Santa Zaccharia, and eventually found the hotel tucked in amongst the various alleyways. The hotel took some finding but was very convenient for St Marks square once you found it, and there were very reasonable restaurants around it....... I stayed at La Locandiera for two nights in June as part of a two week tour of Italy with my husband and two teenage daughters. As other reviewers have noted, the hotel is nestled in a quiet courtyard and just minutes from St. Mark's square. The hotel was easy to find from the vaporetto stop using the directions on the web site. We booked a quad room which included a double bed and a fold-out day bed, along with a small kitchen which we did not use except for the refrigerator. We stayed at La Locandiera last September during our visit to Europe! I have to say I was so pleasantly surprised. The entrance does not seem like much, but the rooms are fabulous and perfect. We had a beautiful room overlooking a canal-total surprise! The staff was lovely and the price certainly the best in Venice! I have recommended this to many friends!!

My husband and I stayed here for the first four nights of our Italian holiday, and the La Locandiera definitely was the highlight of the hotels we stayed at for the remainder of our trip. Nestled in a quiet courtyard, this hotel is extremely well-maintained and couldn't be better located. The hotel is steps from St. Mark's square, perfect for ending an evening wandering through the crowds and enjoying the wonderful live music. Stayed there two nights at beginning of our trip. Found it coming from San Marcos as that was where shared water taxi dropped us. Small establishment, friendly staff, spotless large room and bath. Had the downstairs room off entry. This room had small kitchenette which we did not use except refrigerator. Odd re lack of shower curtain, as you basically sit in tub and aim the portable shower nozzle back towards the tile wall. We spent 3 days in this hotel. The room was exactly as showed on the photos, quite big, and very clean. It overlooked a small canal. The location was excellent- 5 minutes walk from St. Marco Sq., quite easy to find if you follow instructions provided on the webpage. Staff was available 24h, very helpful, speaking English. Next time, I stay there again.

Both I and my partner stayed here for 3 nights. It was our first time in Venice so didnt know where to book or what to expect. I booked this originally because it says only a short distance from St Marks Square & looked nice & clean from the pictures & within our price range. We stayed here for two nights and thought that it was good value at 150euros including breakfast. Our room and bathroom were immaculate as was the reception and the breakfast room. The hotel is in an excellent position and we had no problem finding it although we had looked at a map beforehand and have visited Venice before. The staff were very pleasant and fluent English was spoken.
