I stayed at the hotel during the first week of August and was pleasantly surprised that it wasn't packed. There were plenty of free loungers around all three pools and there was no need to get up really early to reserve these with your towel!
Food was very varied and of good quality. The vast majority of the staff was extremely helpful and many were able to dip in and out of several languages very fluently. The hotel was very clean and well equipped. All wines, spirits and beers in the all inclusive package were excellent - they included Gordon's gin, Smirnoff Vodka etc.
Only criticism is that the hotel isn't up to what you'd expect of a British 5* hotel - for instance the beds and bedding weren't particularly comfortable and the hotel wasn't fitted out in a particularly attractive way. Some of the amenities could do with modernisation.
I would highly recommend this hotel overall.

After reading all the reviews I booked the hotel and was really looking forward to having Easter abroad, how wrong was I. The food was just ok, you could even have brussel sprouts with your bacon in the morning, no kids menu. There was no entertainment at all, day or night. Outside pool wasn't heated and indoor one was cold, the hotel refused to turn it up. Jazzcui was rubbish and very cold. Tennis wasn't free it cost 11 euros, but you have to have tennis shoes and your own rackets. All inclusive finishes at 12 am on the day your leaving, we wasn't leaving until 7 pm so had to pay for meals and drinks that day. Out of 160 guest in the hotel only 20 were British, it turns out this hotel is for Germans and Swiss who book bicycle tours within the hotel, they ride all day and go to bed at 9 pm it's not set up to create a nice atmosphere. The sauna was switched on at about 4 pm for when the cyclist's arrived back and they like to wear no clothes in there. Every British guest I spoke to was making the best of there holiday, by hiring cars and traveling around the island. 40% of staff were nice but 60% were not very nice or helpful. I've never wrote one of these reviews before but felt I needed to warn people, it might get a bit better in the main season but do not go here Oct - April you'll be bored, fed up and there is nothing for children.(Apart from a free crazy golf course).

I visited the Delta Hotel as a weekend visitor looking for a short escape from the dismal weather we were experiencing over here.
I stayed on an all inclusive basis. I was not expecting great things. I have stayed all inclusive before and was anticipating the usual locally produced drinks and uninspiring food.
How wrong I was!
The food was superb. Very high quality and at the Beach Club, I had my choice of meat cooked in front of me.
All the drinks were branded quality drinks and we were given a bottle of wine of our choice with all meals as opposed to usual measly glass of inferior plonk!
The hotel itself was extremely clean. The staff helpful. The rooms was comfortable and very quiet.
The best feature of this hotel was that of the Beach Club. A short drive in a free hotel mini bus takes you to a real gem.
The setting was beautiful and the atmosphere relaxing. I was able to eat there savouring the food overlooking the spectacular views.
The only down side ( if you could call it one) was that the hotel is not located within a main resort. However, Arenal was a short and cheap bus ride away.

We stayed here for mid-week in June and honestly wished we had done more research. Place is very child unfriendly and not interested in foreigners at all. Food quality mediocre, service poor. Do not bother!!
