Junjungan Ubud Hotel and Spa

This is the best hotel for relaxing in Ubud. You might need to rent a motor bike to go Ubud's center and back, however there is a shuttle bus to and from the hotel. The hotel suroundings are very soothing and clam. We enjoyed our breakfast on the terrace overlooking the rice field. The swimming is small, we did not use it and neighter did we witness any other guests using it. It is a small hotel worth staying at.

Our room was excellent but the a/c wasn't up to my Canadian standards so they upgraded us to the deluxe suite which was even bigger. And we thought our standard room was large! It was freaking huge. And for the money it was by far the best hotel we stayed at during our trip to Bali. The bathtub was so large it took what seemed like an hour to fill. One issue is that there isn't anywhere to mount the shower head so you have to hold it while showering. That was the only flaw with the room. So that says something. The king sized bed was... more

Extremely friendly and helpful staff.. love the ambiance, not a luxury place but just comfortable and the friendliness makes it even better. Free shuttle bus provided and very clever driver, who found us in a restaurant when we were waiting for our take-away while waiting for the shuttle bus. Everything is perfect, will definitely go back again.

i really love the awan room which located at 3rd floor, nice padi view from the balcony. Love the room so much, is spacious with a double volume silling, nice decoration and clean. Location is definitely far away from Ubud Centre, but they provide free shuttle 4 times a day to and back, so is quite convenience. Plus the friendly stuffs make the stay more pleasant experience. and now Junjungan have Swimming pool !

My partner and I as well as our friends (another couple) stayed at Junjungan in April this year and were so happy with our stay. We were upgraded as they were virtually empty (only one other couple were there) and the room was absolutely amazing. I must say that this hotel was a pleasant surprise! We booked it in a rush through agoda and were worried to find a nasty place very far from Ubud. Instead, we found the most beautiful of the boutique hotels, offering a wonderful service and fantastic rooms with an unmatchable view over the rice fields! True, the hotel is more than 3 km. away from Ubud Palace. But why should that be a problem when the hotel offer a frequent shuttle service to and from the city and when they shuttle you (outside the main hours) for just 3 usd? Besides,... more

Booked through agoda. Was tranferred by the hotel into a foul, moldy, feces-filled room at a sister hotel. I have plenty of pictures of our nasty hotel. Do not believe you will get what is in the pictures. Junjungan said this was an equivalent hotel.(Their sister hotel.) They have ruined my stay in Bali.

Stayed in the Junjungan Ubud Hotel for 5 nights in August and we loved it!! The rooms are large, airy and beautifully furnished. The views out across the paddy fields are sublime. The room was clean and everything worked. Breakfast was adequate and the whole experience was excellent value - we paid about 20GBP per night incl breakfast. As other reviewers have mentioned it is some way out of the main centre of Ubud - but the hotel do have a complimentary shuttle to the centre 3 times a day and taxis are relatively cheap at other times.... more

Arriving late at night, the hotel lookws quiet and empty. Staff were however super friendly and efficient. This is not really a hotel. The reception did not have credit card facility and there was no pool. The best thing about the hotel however is the view of terraced paddy field and the fireflies at night! My room was huge and stunning. Most furniture around the hotels are locally made and are therefore unique. This hotel is stunning. Dont be put off when you arrive in Ubud as to how far out this hotel is. It is about 3km from the centre. Overlooking rice paddi fields the views are amazing. The rooms are huge with beautiful furnishings. The hotel offers complimentary transport all day and night into Ubud. This is such a great idea and they are always willing to pick you up night or day!. Well worth a visit if you are looking for peace and quiet away from Ubud main street but wanting to easily access the town. Ps You must try... more
