Iliovasilema Hotel Apartments

My husband and I LOVED Iliovasilema and Santorini. Our experience at the hotel was fantastic from the moment we arrived. First, we were upgraded to a bigger room. Then, our bags were whisked off to our room. We spent some time talking with the friendly and helpful manager and then got settled in. Our room was really like a little apartment with a separate bedroom and bath, efficiency kitchen with cooking utensils and a beautiful porch overlooking the caldera with a table, chairs and lounge chairs. It was during a very busy period when i managed to book a room in Santorini at the ''Iliovasilema Hotel'', and i literally fell in love not only with the island but this hotel is an amazing place to stay! The staff was there for you at anytime, and the manager just rocks! Alex was there for everyone, he's an excellent person and really great on what he does. Everybody there made us feel like home, and there isnt any better than that, when you go somewhere and you just need to relax no matter how crowded or busy the whole place... more

The place is absolutely lovely and serene. The room is clean, but it's charming. The view over the Caldera was spectacular. It is the most beautiful place to experience the sunsets. The only drawback to this place was the staff. Alex was unfriendly and not very helpful. He charged us for a taxi he never provided from the airport even though we assured him there was never one waiting for us. The taxis in Santorini are so expensive. The Iliovasilema is about 2 miles from the main town, so you must either take a taxi or rent a car... more

Santorini is a beautiful place, most of the hotels in Fira have the same views, so Iliovasilema is no exception; you can open your balcony door and you see the ocean. Besides that particular point, my entire experiece at this hotel was very disappointing. The manager was very incompetent when it came to information. We ask about renting mopeds and he sends us to the one down the block which happened to be the most expensive one. Excellent hotel in an excellent location outside Fira. Probably had the best views of the Cladera that we saw. We had a wonderful stay and have great memories of the place. Rooms were all done with great style and thought. All the rooms we saw were beautiful and had great views. Staff were very helpful and answered our 100s of questions always with a smile (especially Alex the manager). Overall the place was very well run. Overall hotel was excellent value for money.

The position of the hotel is impressive, with great views in all directions. The studio room was pleasant, but for £170/night one might have expected breakfast to be included! The staff were however helpful, and arranged our ferry tickets, etc. As with many of the hotels along the cliff-side, it is VERY steep, especially if your room is at the bottom, and you want to go up to reception or the pool! We stayed at Iliovasilema for 3 days and another hotel prior to that in the main town (Fira). As far as views go, Iliovasilema is phenomenal. But you can get that view pretty much at any hotel in Imerovigli. The service was efficient, but the manager was a little cocky and brusque. We got a little unlucky in that they stuck us in a studio that was tiny compared to all the other rooms at the hotel -- was like a railroad carriage. Simply amazing! This has to be the best spot in Santorini...the landscape is unique, and Iliovasilema is probably the bet place to enjoy it. Spotless rooms, kind staff and good food complete the picture!

My husband and I stayed 5 nights here on the last leg of our honeymoon. We had a superior suite (no. 11) which was fantastic although all rooms have a spectacular view. Alexandros (the manager) was wonderful and all staff most pleasant. Definately good value for the price. I would recommend suite#9 as best value. We plan to return here with family and friends.

We loved it here at Iliovasilema. Everything was fantastic- the customer service, the rooms, the pool and most importantly, the views. There was nothing nicer than waking up and ordering breakfast on our balcony and looking out onto the best view, I believe, in Santorini. At night we would sit outside and stare at the sunset. The rooms were spotless and had everything you need to make the stay here perfect. After a lot of research, I am so glad I chose this hotel. It is perfect in every way.
