Iberostar Paraiso del Mar

My boyfriend and I just came back from the Iberostar Paraiso Del mar (January '03). It was fantastic! The beach is great, beautiful water and lots of beach loungers. The pool is huge and set up nicely with nooks and crannies. There was really good food (nothing too fancy, just good food-a lot of it!). We thought a nice touch was that they offered barbecue burgers and hot dogs on the beach some days, which was great with a cold drink from the beach bar. We stayed at Del Mar 1/15/03 to 1/22/03. The service was excellent. Maid, bar tenders, waiters etc. always greated you with a smile and acted as if they couldn't do enough for you. We ate in the Steak and Brazil restaurants and enjoyed the buffet food on the other nights. Demerit #!) The wooden doors in complex 1401-1452 made a loud noise everytime they were closed. The door slamming started at 6 AM one morning and then the three discourteous vacationers hung "Do not disturb" signs on their doors for the rest of the day.... more

My husband and I spent Jan 6 to the 13th at Del Mar and we thought the hotel was amazing. The service was outstanding and our room was always cleaned by mid-morning and the staff is very helpful. Our only complaint was the food, while we didn't really expect much from an all u can eat buffet, we were hoping for a bit more selection. We would both recommend the Japanese Restaurant. My family and I stayed here form Jan 5-9. Everything about this resort is amazing from the food to the beach, not to mention the pool which is truly a work of art. You never have to even leave the resort in search of activities. There is so much to do all day long. The nightly shows are very entertaining and the resort has a club that is open till 3am. My husband and I stayed at IB* Paraiso during the week before Christmas (before the rates skyrocket). This is an amazing resort! The only compaints I have is that there wasn't enough of a variety of Mexican food at the buffet (I'm addicted to Mexican food) and the property is so large and spread out that walking can become a chore. This trip was the highlight of my entire life. There is not one complaint i can think of because this place is absolutly flawless. Every employee was very friendly and made that stay more enjoyable. if i could go on one more vacation the rest of my entire life, this would be the place I go.

We chose the IB-P based on the reviews we read here and elsewhere. We just arrived home from 1 week at this all-inclusive resort having travelled there with my wife, son (5 years old) and daughter (2 1/2). My brother and his wife came too with their son (4 yrs old) and daughter (18 months). Having stayed at some very nice all inclusive properties in Mexico and the Carribbean, I must agree with the other reviews posted here. We just got back from a fantasitic week(Dec 4-11). The entire staff made us feel that we were the most important guests. I was a little nervous about the food/water and service based on other reviews. We had absolutely no problem with the food or water. Are children are a bit picky so the buffets offered many choices that suited them as well as the adults. We tipped the maid $2/day and we always had fresh sheets/towels and a stocked refrigerator.
