Hotel Weber Ambassador Capri

The Hotel Weber is set in a beautiful location in Capri, on Marina Piccola. It is quieter than the city hotels in Capri or Anacapri, but both areas are easily accessed by the free shuttle at the hotel, or by bus or taxi. The staff was very friendly, the room was clean, views were second to none and the breakfast was great. There is no pool, but who would complain about this when the Gulf of Naples is at your doorstep! As expected, the beach is rocky but still beautiful. I can't say enough about our stay at Hotel Weber. It's a very special place. Staying there for the short time that we did was a highlight of our trip to Italy. The staff, particularly Annalisa and Bruno, were exceptionally friendly and helpful. The hotel is located on the best part of the island. The hotel is great with a typical italian and mediterranean flavor, it's staff make you feell as if you were a Earl, and the food...well you are in Italy, what else could you ask for, I would recommend it any time!!!, although I think that for a typical tasteless tourist who likes to see flashy places without real flavor and cardboard walls this for sure is not going a place to be they may go to the equivalent of a Red Roof type of hotel....

After a bad experience in another 4 star hotel in Capri, we change hotel for the Weber Ambassador and everything was just perfect! The room was clean and comfortable, the bathroom very large, the scenery from our terrace unique. The beach, few steps down from our room, looked like a beautiful and immense pool . Breakfast was delicious with impeccable service. Would definitely recommend staying there and hope to come back soon.

Unfortunately I ignored earlier bad reviews of this hotel and booked my room on the strength of the website. Upon arrival at the hotel, I was told I could not check in until 7:00PM. I need a nap and a shower and could not wait around for 4 hours, but they did not accomodate me. When I asked them if I could check out at 7:00PM on my last day to make up for this inconvenience they said that would simply not be possible. I also found the hotel to be dirty and the rooms smelled of mildew. Never again would I stay here.

We've stayed at the Weber Ambassador in September 2003 and really enjoyed it. Booked a deluxe double room, we found it spotless clean but specially what a view over the bay! The staff were extremely friendly and helpful, specially the drivers and the reception people. Everything was perfect, specially the AMERICAN buffet breakfast. I find it amazing that the defenders of the Weber point out that they are building a pool next to the hotel in the future. That is not relevant to the fact that they advertise a beautifull pool on their website that is not located on their grounds. The staff is rude and will not acknowledge any problems, the linens/sheets in the room were dirty, and the confusion I encountered at the front desk while trying to check in took 45 minutes. I work for British Airways and over the years have been fortunate enough to have visited many countries all over the world and stayed at some of the best and some of the worst hotels worldwide. I can honestly say that The Weber is on the top of my list of best hotels for many reasons. First things first; the reviewers who noted that the hotel pool is a scam could not have been more correct. The website presents a breathtaking picture of a pool situated right on the beach. This is the most deceptive advertising I have ever seen. And when you ask the staff about it, they either don't acknowledge it or give you a snide answer. I called the hotel 7 times to confirm that the room for the first night of my honeymoon would be ready. I was always told I was all set. After flying for 18 hours, taking a boat and taxi to get to the hotel, I was told that they not have a room for me and that I could stay at the hotel's annex. The annex turned out to be a completely seperate hotel that was nothing more than a hostel. When I expressed my displeasure, I was insulted and told to "go back to America".
