Charming and Elegant
We stayed here for our honeymoon. The service was teriffic--the staff was attentive and provided helpful answers to our questions. Our room was gorgeous, breakfasts were delicious. We were there in August and the crowds in town were pretty crazy. The hotel has a great location, cause you can walk up the hill a few minutes and be in all the hubbub of Taormina, and then escape to the quiet hotel. Also great beach access, since we could easily walk down to the beaches right below town. We've stayed in many places in Italy, and in Sicily... more
Beautiful villa, excellent service, attention to every detail of your stay.
Villa is located in a quiet area, at the same time it is very close to the center of town. Owner of the property goes out of her way to make your stay absolutely perfect. The view from the breakfast area is outstanding. One note - we reserved the standard room with the shower. When we arrived pretty late at night, we were greeted and told that we were upgraded to the suite. Suite contained a luxury bathtub, but no practical shower. My husband asked the next day to see the standard room, which we liked much more. It has a terrace outside with... more
Fantastic
This was the frist hotel that my daughter, niece and I stayed in while travelling in Italy. We had been flying for many long hours when we arrived and the owner and staff at this hotel were absolutely wonderful. We used their transfer service from the Catania airport and the driver was waiting for us when we landed. We had to wait for an hour or so becasue of a mixup with our suit cases and the driver was very helpful and friendly while we straightened everything out. He spoke english very well and explained all about Sicily as we drove... more
Pleaseant but not great
Returned today from a week at the Villa Fabiano. booked a junior suite (room 306), unless you want extra bed space for 3 dont bother. The hotel is very pleasant the staff the same. However if only the owners showed they cared more. the husband and wife drift in and out in a semi-detached way but dont seem to make anything happen. Breakfast is chaotic, the two girls try hard but there is a need for someone to manage the room. The location is good and reasonably convenient for walking around town but a large minibus stands outside... more
Lovely Easter stay.
My girlfriend and I stayed at the Villa Fabbiano from Thurs 13th to Mon 17th of April. We stayed there because the hotel has the number 1 rating at TripAdvisor and we were not disappointed. The staff are very friendly and the location of the hotel is excellent - I gathered from another tourist that the main street in Taormina can be very noisy. Although we walked for many miles during our short stay, the hotel would be ideal for elderly people, as the town is a short walk away as is the cablecar and the bus station is just around the... more
Very Nice
Charming hotel. Nice rooms, nice view. A garden and a pool where to relax. Helpful staff. The breakfast on the top floor overlooking the sea is a great experience. Now the hotel even have a small room with a computer permanently connected to the Internet !
Great kept secret so close to main areas!
I loved Villa Fabbiano. I just got back from Sicily today and had a great experience. A new employee had started working on the Wednesday night I checked in. He was incredibly accommodating and worked very hard to meet our needs (room requests, requests for tea service on roof reading room late at night) When we thought our room wasn't a non-smoking room, but wanted one, we were upgraded to a non-smoking suite for free. We had a beatiful room for which we only paid $130 euros and the hotel was stunning. Breakfast and the roofdeck view... more
Beautiful location and friendly staff
We stayed at the Villa Fabbiano for our honeymoon in July 2005. We were immediately impressed by both the staff and the building itself. The hotel has a charm and character and our room was an excellent size and very clean. The breakfast was always pleasant and the waiting staff were particularly helpful. We were given very good advice for our trip to Mount Etna (can recommend the sunset tour) and all in all we were very pleased with our choice of accommodation. Would certainly return and I would recommend to anyone.
Very plaesant stay
My wife and I spent one week in this charming hotel. And we can tell, that it was a pleasant, perhaps unforgettable stay. Location, rooms, atmosphere, everything was excellent. The staff, M. Fabbiano himself and his manager Daniel provided a perfect service. By the way, Taormina is worth to stay, even in july.
"this hotel is not for you"
I had originally reserved for three nights, but left after one night when the following facts rather atypical of a four star hotel emerged: 1- No internet conection was possible only if you had your own dialup telephone number. Even this is suspect because the owner confirmed that their telephone system only works on pulse and not on tone. 2- Because of the above no international calls can be made because you can not use codes with a pulse system. 3- After I complained about the rather... more
Management response from Fabbiano

Usually I don’t write comments or statements on reviews posted by former guests. However, I found that this review is not telling the truth and I felt I had to comment this experience at the Villa Fabbiano. I’ll answer to all the five points, proceeding step by step: 1) With the new law 155 issued on July 31st 2005, each hotel giving the internet access to its guest through a public computer or with a wireless/plug-in connection, has to register all the details of all the user accessing to the net. This goes against any privacy and our option was to keep the access modalities with the dialup connection. The editor of this review booked a Junior Suite (room 301) from October 29th to October 29th in our hotel and I was on duty when he arrived. Although he was very friendly at my welcome, his attitude changed a few time after answering about the internet facilities in our hotel. I was asked for the availability of wireless or plug-in connections at the Villa Fabbiano. Apologizing, I had to tell him that only a dialup connection with a personal provider number was available in the hotel rooms, and that no public internet point was available in the hotel. At this answer, I was told that this was not a standard of a 4-star hotel and that he assumed we had internet access. If one goes on our webpage, one can find a statement on our internet facilities in the FAQ section. In addition, I think that if the internet connection is one of the most important things for choosing a hotel, one could ask at its reservation if a connection is available or not. I’m sure that we would have told about the internet facilities at Villa Fabbiano... 2) Back from dinner, the guest asked me how to do for dialing international phone numbers. I explained him that it was enough to dial the “0” for accessing the normal phone network. By the way, a call to the USA will be charged by us with 0,60 € per minute... 3) After trying to dial a 800 number , the editor of this review contacted me reporting that it was not possible to access to a digit menu. Yes, it’s true. I explained that the rodary phone we have in our rooms does not support the digital menus of the 800 numbers. This means that it’s possible to call a 800 number from your room, but whenever you should digit a PIN or use a access menu, this is not possible. After this explanation, I was told in a really unfriendly tone that nothing (referring to both internet connection and 800 numbers) was working in our hotel. Since I couldn’t help this guest with the internet neither with the 800 number, I apologized and said that he probably had the wrong expectations of Villa Fabbiano and in his case we have been the wrong choice. Nothing said about americans who shouldn’t stay with us ... 4) After the exchange about the internet and phone facilities, our phone terminal had problems, calling room 301 without any reason or action. Since I feared we couldn’t immediately resolve the problem at 11:00pm, I recommended to unplug the phone in order to avoid any further inconvenience at nigthtime. I think that everybody else had done the same... 5) The morning after, my collegue Nicole was on duty when the editor of this review decided to leave earlier than originally planned. Nicole told me that she said that although we could have charged tho whole amount of the originally booked stay, we would have charged only that one night because of the complaints. No request for luggage service was done. I think there was no problem helping with the luggage, if only one asked us... In all, since I experienced personally this case, I can say that the guest’s attitude was out of the normal behaviour of our guests. As you can read in most of our reviews, we always try to help you in all matters. In this case, we couldn’t help to resolve the problems of the internet connection and the phone network. Although we understand that one can be unhappy with its choice, we find that he had to comment the posted review in order to give to the tripadvisor users the possibility to read also our version of how the things went. But anyway, I’m sure everybody here is clever enough to judge by itself Villa Fabbiano.
