Hotel Victor Masse

Me and my husband stayed at this hotel the begining of July for 1 night. Our reservation was for 1 double bed room, but we were put in a room with 3 single beds. When we asked the receptionist, he told us that we have to talk to the manager in the morning and that he doesn't know why we were put in this room. When we brought up the issue with the Manager he was ignorent and did not even try to appologize and told us that we should've put the beds together. Horible customer service and the hotel wasn't cheap. No AC in the rooms.... more

Reception was friendly and helpful and there's actually an elevator for those who have lots of luggages and stay high up. Room was small and bathroom was tiny (reminds me of Tokyo) but they did the job. It IS located on peripherals of the red light district but the hotel was quiet and my girlfriend and I felt safe despite staying there on a Friday night. Streets were dirty with dog left over so it's a bit of problem dragging your luggage on wheels. All in all, it's not a bad hotel.

My girlfriend and I stayed at this hotel last week on part of a 'Times' promotion. We found it ideal as we were out and about for the whole of the day, and just needed somewhere comfortable to sleep and shower. I found the desk staff very helpful, and friendly. Our breakfast was nice [they stayed open for us even though we were late down]. The bedroom was spacious, as was the bathroom. I was really positively surprised about this hotel as i was reading the other comments here before hand. It´s really a nice hotel to stay and good value for money! It´s located in a beautiful Montmartre area close to sacre coueur and moulin rouge. Metro stop was really close as well and made it that much easier to go around places. Yes, the area is known for it´s red lights but it doens´t mean it´s not safe around there cause it was really comfortable to walk around at any time of a day. Breakfast was excellent! Stayed at the Victor Masse Hotel in October 2005 for 2 nights with my boyfriend. Hotel is situated close to a Metro stop, but it IS surrounded by different strip clubs etc and was not very pleasant walking back to the hotel at night in particular. Also, was approached by 2 scary looking men in broad daylight on way to Metro so i did not always feel safe in the area. Stayed at this hotel for two nights late june.Not a plesant experience.Very small room for a double.The bathroom very small.No a-c,very hot.No ventelation.Red light district next door.Will pay the extra next time a find a better hotel.

I went to Paris alone and spoke very little French. The people at the front desk were very helpful, and they spoke English. I was allowed to leave my bag before checking in. (It was wonderful not to have to carry it around until 2!) The room was small - it was single - but clean. Breakfast was basic, but delicious. Although it was near the Red Light District (the next street down), I felt safe. The hotel was relatively quiet, and the Metro was nearby. All in all, it was a decent hotel and a pleasant stay for a good price.

Great Hotel! The red Light District is a few blocks away and there is a metro station 2 blocks away so you don't have to go near the red light district. The front desk was awesome! We speak a little french and they understood what we meant, they spoke slowly for us to understand them, and they were just very helpful. Again, its a few blocks away from the Red Light district but it can be avoided at all times with the St. Georges Metro stop! Highly recommended Hotel!

Hotel is in a horrible location in the Red Light district of Paris. Toilet was filthy, Bath towels were smeared with dirt and breakfast was minimal. Because this hotel is in a seedy location, there are alot of seedy people in and around the Metro Station. I think this hotel and the location ruined our Paris trip.

Nice Hotel in good neighbourhood... Me and my girlfriend stayed in the hotel for 5 nights in the summer of 1999. My girlfriend said the rooms looked clean. (well, and if she says its Clean then its Clean) We paid a little 20$ for the room per night including a bathtube. Very friendly Hotel management and the Hotel is nearby Underground stations, Sacré Coeur , Moulin rouge. Not to forget, Breakfast is good and in our case it was included in the price.
