Hotel Tagoo

We stayed at Tagoo in May 07. This is a really amazing place to stay. The grounds are immaculately maintained. It is small enough to feel close to the really warm people who run the hotel (and they seem to attract nice guests too) but big enough to have all the privacy you need. This hotel was really unique. We had a large king room overlooking an incredible ocean vista. Islands, sunsets, towns--all within view from our balconies. Our room was spotlessly clean, mattress firm, refrigerator near new, bathroom modern. Anna and her husband (the owners) could not be more gracious or friendly. Every assistance was available. They really cared about our stay. The walk to and from town was a little arduous for us more than once a day, so we rented a car. Also drove to the beaches which were beautiful. Hotel Tagoo is a lovely, family run pensione on Mykonos island in the Cyclades chain in Greece. When you arrive, owners Anna (a Canadian native) and Yani (her Greek husband) will arrange for a pick up from the airport or boat port for you. Every now and then within our life experiences we are witness to the extraordinary. Hotel Tagoo may not be the fanciest hotel nor does it have Gold plated door handles, But!!!!!!!! But!!!!!!!!! This place was nothing short of magical and had an undescribable warmth of which is so hard to find these days, capturing the essence of not just the islands but Greece as a whole. My daugther and I once again returned to the gorgeous island of Mykonos last summer. Every year I think I should be going to other countries to sample other cultures but some how, Mykonos and in particular Hotel Tagoo, keeps pulling me back!! I honestly had a wonderful time. The hotel was spotless, very resonably priced and the staff amazing. I have to say that the other guests who were there too, were some of the nicest people I have ever met. I visited Mykonos this September with my wife. We found this hotel through tripadvisor because of all the wonderful things people had said, but still a skeptical person, I wasn't sure whether I would get everything people said. Well to my amazement I got the same. The place itself is on different levels so which ever rooms you, there is a view. The rooms are very basic but extremely clean. I stayed at the Hotel Tagoo during my July 2006 visit to Mykonos. Anna and her staff could just not do enough. In the later part of my first day they aquainted me with the good resturants ,the sights and the dos and don'ts of the island. The 4 days flew by for me. At times they left messages making sure i was having a good time. The other guests were very friendly and from all parts of the globe. I can't say enough good things and I know I will return there one day.

We stayed at Hotel Tagoo for several nights in September 2006 and we were very happy with our hotel choice. We were picked up at the ferry by Anna and taken directly to the hotel and settled into our room right away. Anna then took the time to have a little meeting with us to tell us all of the ins and outs of Mykonos... which restaurants to visit and the best way to get around. Anna made a special effort to make us feel comfortable at their hotel. It has beautiful views and a fun vibe - if this is what you're looking for then I would recommend it. Given the reasonable price, it was a good place to stay, but the hotel itself is a bit worn down. The rooms, bathrooms and pool are just OK, chips in tiles etc, sparse rooms and an uncomfortable rickety bed. The 5 out of 5 travellers reviews built it up to be this 'amazing hotel', but really, it is a reasonable, budget hotel with a nice atmosphere and good hosts.... more
