Akteon Holiday Village

We went to Akteon village for our honeymoon, it was absolutely lovely, the apartments were gorgeous, staff went out of their way to help us and the food was superb...... Highly recommend this place, we will be going again definitely with our children.
The hotel was very child friendly and the staff loved the children, one night the bar manager took one of the children who was crying behind the bar and made a big ice cream sundae with him to give his parents a break, so they could have drink!!!
Shops and beach are lovely and there are some really nice walks you can go on although I would recommend to go on them in the night as it was far too hot to go on them in the day and the whole beachfront is lit, it is so romantic.

We had a great holiday, the outdoor pool is first class! Didn’t use the indoor pool as weather was fantastic. Plenty of sunbeds and parasols, no towels on beds at 0730 here, the apartment was clean and utensils like new. The entertainment girls(not reps) Emma (W.Y.N.I), Amanda, Michelle and Dominique were fantastic, always up for a laugh and gave 100% to make our holiday enjoyable. Thoroughly recommend this hotel for families, although we would go all inclusive next time due to Cyprus being very expensive!

The best holiday ever! Me and my husband spent a week’s holiday in this apartment hotel. The holiday beat our expectations in all aspects, the room was great (we upgraded to a sea view) and always kept clean by housekeeping.
Food was delicious and there was always a choice of local dishes as well as international classics. The outdoor swimming pool was fantastic and very clean.
As already mentioned in reviews below, there is no beach at the hotel and the nearest one is 5 min. walk away. There is a good bus connection to Paphos town and harbour.
Last, but definitely not least, the entertainment for the guests was brilliant! Amanda, Emma, Dominique and Michelle (no preferences girls, just alphabetical order :-)) all did a wonderful job and provided a variety of entertainment during the day as well as in the evening. I’ll never forget the fun we had at water polo and funny dances! :-) The only downfall of the entertainment was Saturday and Monday night when local live bands/singers were performing. The quality of these artists was rather poor and the majority of guests have left the bar very early.
To sum it up, it was a brilliant holiday and I would recommend it to families as well as couples!

The hotel was first class. The staff where friendly and always willing to help. It was the best holiday that my family have ever had. This was made very special indeed by the entertainment staff (Emma Amanda Michelle and Dominique) who work tirelessly all day and night to ensure we all had a really good time without them the hotel would not be as entertaining. Our Family of 2 Adults and 2 children found the hotel fantastic. We had a one bedroomed apartment which was clean and spacious, and kept clean by daily visits from housekeeping.
The food was plentiful and varied, and the service from the restaurant and bar staff was first class.
The village is beautifully maintained and well presented. The pool is huge and great fun, and there regular activities throughout each day for adults and children.
Not being close to shops and bars you’ll need to either hire a car or catch a bus from a stop (which is about 500m from the hotel entrance). The busses run every 10-15 minutes and are very cheap. It takes about 10-15 minutes to get to Paphos Harbour by bus.
Highly recommended.

Great pool, very clean but not 4 star.... not in a million years! Poor food, terrible entertainment at night.
Warning, prospective visitors to the Akteon must be prepared to pay extra for air conditioning, and the use of a safe. Also, be prepared to walk a few miles, or pay for alternative transportation, as the Akteon is quite a distance from anywhere.
If you want my advice, if you choose the Akteon,go self catering!

Our stay at the Akteon was very enjoyable, because the children were well catered for. The accommodation was very clean and the air conditioning a godsend. The staff were very friendly, and helpful, and the food was great. The hotel is in a great position overlooking the sea, however don’t expect a beach, because it cannot be classed as one.
The entertainment was very repetitive, but this was no fault of the girls who provided it. They worked very hard to do their best and the children loved them, but some adult entertainment would have meant that the hotel would have been busier at night (a lot of people went elsewhere). All in all a good holiday for families, not so sure its the place for couples.

I agree with what has already been said about the resort, the facilities we outstanding and as a wheelchair user I found that Akteon was very accessible.
However, on our second night we had a bad experience, which has put us off from returning. Whilst we were asleep in out apartment, someone broke in via the French doors and stole our wallet and room key. We reported this to reception first thing in the morning when we realised what had happened. The staff we really unhelpful and actually blamed us and tried to say that we had lost the wallet and the key the evening before - even though we had the key to enter the room! They refused to believe that we had been victims of a crime. We asked to change rooms, as we were fearful that someone had a key to our room. They refused although they did advise us that we could purchase another key (same locks!) for Cypriot £20! We met another couple whilst staying at the village and they claimed that they heard someone trying to enter their room the night after we were broken into but again the staff refused to believe this!
All I can say is, if you do chose to stay at the Akteon, be very careful!

Most of the staff are very pleasant however I did find the staff at the pool bar a little distant until the day we were coming home then they were very pleasant, fabulous hotel the entertainment staff work so hard they do activities all through the day and evening also + children’s mini disco I don’t know where they get the energy from, and they are also so helpful (mostly English ) Emma is the team leader and is amazing such good fun, we had an incident and although it was nothing to do with EMMA she sorted it out for us she stood up to the management I would recommend this hotel although it is a bus ride from Paphos if you have all the entertainment you need for the evening.

We have holidayed in Cyprus for the last three years and it is becoming far too expensive for anybody from a country where euro is the currency...we thought it a real rip off this year. That said the previous twice we stayed in five star hotels, which were wonderful except, too stiff ....no atmosphere at all. The Akteon Tourist Village has it all....the best staff of anywhere we have ever been, the best and cleanest apartments and what a swimming pool with lots of activities during the day .The food was excellent. The mini market was very expensive but well stocked. The only negative thing I could say was it’s a pity it is so far from a proper beach. That said the bus service is punctual and inexpensive. The staff really are in a class of their own .I couldn’t begin to tell you how kind they were and hope these comments are read by those who will look after them ...they were all treasures
