We were VERY worried after reading some of the reviews. If you stay in the Habitat apartments, there is no problem. We had our sheets and towels changed many times, the apartment was small but clean enough although a bit dated. Yes, the pool was deep and not for small children but there were other pools available I think for them. We tried to locate the other accomodation descrited, but did not find it. I did mention to my travel agent about the poor reviews and they assured me it would not happen to us, so perhaps stick with Thomas Cook. The noise from the hotel nearby was quite loud but did not continue till late at night and then it was very quiet. At the end of the day, the holiday was good and Pollenca is great. It can all depend on your neighbours and we were lucky generally, with just a few noisy latehomers (and they were NOT youngsters either).

Have just returned from Habitat and I am so glad I didn't read the reviews before I went. The apartments were very good, very clean (shower curtain changed with bedding)Lovely large white towels/bathmat changed every other day.
Eating at Aries oposite was good also Hideaway which is on a road just behind Aries.
Live band The Hustlers on at apartment on Sunday evening and then twice more in the town-absolutely not to be missed-fantastic.
The beach can be reached by another route which avoids the dual carriageway and getting around to see other places was so easy and cheap by buses.
What a superb holiday-booked at the last minute due to constant rain in the UK
Met very nice people staying in apartments.
Best holiday ever.

After reading the pieces about The Habitat below, I was dreading going there, however, I disagree with most of the negative comments about the Habitat apartments. It was fantastic. the reception staff were not too friendly, however the rest were great. We had the pool to ourselves most of the time. There is a child friendly pool of which my 3 yr old spent most of his time in if we weren't on the beach! The supermarket is just down the road.. get a bus, right outside the Habitat. We could use the other pools on the site incl Hotel Duva's. They also have a fab health suite and indoor pool, free for people staying in the Habitat. If you are unsure about anything, just ask, staff or guests... The Spar across the road is expensive, yes, but ok for emergency things or their yummy warm baguettes! Wolud definately, without hesitation stay there again.

We too stayed at the habitat apts because we had stayed there last year and had a wonderful time. On arrival we were told that we were not at the habitat but in the habitat gardens and my name had been crossed through on the arrivals form! We were told that it was all the same complex but i knew it wasnt. Argued with guy on reception and told him i was not staying there. Spoke to first choice office - absolutely waste of space. Will never travel with first choice again!!!!They told me the same but it does not say this in the brochure. Luckily Carmen the manageresss was on duty and she sorted it out for us and gave us 2 1 bedroomed apts instead in the main complex. What a star she is! Yes the apt was overrun with ants but just asked for some spray from reception. My complaint is with first choice. The rep was a waste of space. not interested in helping. Didnt even read complaint form, did no welcome meeting because he was too busy filling out complaint forms, not interested in booking trips - told me to phone the office! Now been back for 4 weeks and have heard nothing from them. Can we do something collectively about this?? Some people were given refunds at the resort. an emergency meeting of all reps was called on the Wednesday nite we were there. Wonder what that was about?!!!"

Had a wonderful holiday, looking to go again next year. The hotel was clean and of a high standard and all the staff were very helpful and friendly. The children loved it and especially the entertainer called Trev kept them all amused and happy for hours on end. The evening entertainment was also fantastic. Would highly recommend.

Hi, got back off holiday, had a great time, the aprtments were lovely, food was good.
Entertainment was especailly good, young lad called Trev I think his name was - he was very good with other staff members and guests.
My children loved him, music was great too.
A credit to the Habitat, for a wonderful holiday and the way the staff looked after everyone - well done. Will be back as they say.

I had a great holiday, the weather was fab. The hotel was lovely and the staff was very helpful. I most enjoyed the entertainer (Trev). This is the first holiday I have been on for years where the someone has actually played decent music day and night. He kept my kids entertained during the kiddies club with his magic tricks, etc, and when he had the disco going I was dancing non stop. Best Dj/entertainer at a holiday resort anywhere I've ever been. Will definately go back next year

We have just arrived back to the uk and the 1st thing i wanted to do was go back.
what a holiday. my wife and i love everything about it. the bar staff were very funny. The entertainer, Trev was amazing, it must have been really hard work for him as there were not many people booked in at the moment however he always worked hard, was funny, good on the mic, and always delivering the entertainment.
my 2 sons also loved it and often went out clubbing. on one of the night Trev and other entertainers from diffrent hotels took them out with other holiday makers.
Trev was djing in town after work and got them free into the club. cheap drinks, and made sure they got back safe at around 5 in the morning. both my sons loved it and said to add the comment, keep an eye out for Dj Twain (trev) he is going to be big. also the nexted day Trev was in work at 11 and the late night had not effected him. there was always something to do from water games, Archery, Rifle and Pistol shooting, water fights, horse riding and go-karting.
at night good quizes, games, bands, and shows.
loved it all.

We are a family of 4 just back from the Habitat, we were really concerned about these apartments after reading several bad reviews just before going. But we were very surprised once arriving as the place was nice, clean but very basic, beds not too comfortable but the apartment was clean, with TV, aircon & cooking facilities, we had a balcony over looking the 2nd swimming pool so the quiter part of the apartments. The entertainment was everynight, nothing special but ok.
The staff were helpfull, especially as we needed an urgent dentist for our son, the receptionist arranged it all for us & the taxi to take us there.
The apartments are about 10mins walk from the beach & big supermarket. Plenty of shops & restaurants opposite the beach. We found it all quite expensive where ever you shopped apart from the Eroski Supermarket. The food at the Habitat was also quite nice & no more expensive than anywhere else.
I would stay at these apartments again if I was to go to Majorca again.

Great place to stay, yes a bit of a walk to town but there are buses and taxi's aplenty! Entertainment was average but there was no kids disco which was disappointing. Apartments were immaculately clean and had more facilities than you would expect. tv and air con a real bonus. Safety shutters were a great touch to protecting tourists against wannabe thieves! Pool did get v busy and a little dangerous for kids and adults alike but it didn't usually last long and there were the other pools to use if it all became too much! Evening music was pretty poor as most of the music was best suited to the 80's lounge bars in Costa del Sol. I heard many people complain about being placed in the OTHER apartments behind the Duva but this was because their tour operator only book the cheaper rooms and not the nice ones then advertise the nice ones in the brochure! TUT TUT FIRST CHOICE, they will have so many compalints because of this as these rooms are not nearly as nice as the main ones. Have already booked to go again next August - great place 5 star

Just returned back from a weeks holiday staying at the habitat our group consisted of my mom and dad both over 60 2 children 11 and 9 (celebrated birthday whilst there)and me and my hubby 30+ and we have had a brill time.
Before i went i looked at the reviews and i was thinking oh no what have i booked but on arrival at the habitat we were shown our apartments and they were very clean and had good air con the staff were friendly enough and the food at the habitat is no more expensive than any other and it was ver enjoyable.the spar over the road is very expensive but arent all convienience shops however 10 min walk down the road is a supermarket very reasonable priced.
The swimming pools were deep however there was a baby pool.
Entertainment during the day was basic (high jump, scuba diving ,archery) but the entertainment staff were lovely and the children enjoyed it. Entertainment at night was ok some of the groups they had singing were very good and the kenya boys were excellent.
The cleaning ladies came in every day except sundays and changed the towels and they were very pleasant ladies
Peurto pollensa was lovely and we would recommend the codfather in the square and the palms english bar.
We met some lovely people whilst there (hi to the cousins family) and we will definatly go back there and to the habitat

Arrived at the Habitat to a lovely reception area. We were advised that we were not staying there but staying at Habitat Garden apartments. We were taken about three blocks up the road. We were shown where our reception was. It was closed and were told they were not sure when the staff would be back. This was the Saturday night. Staff arrived roundabout lunchtime on Monday. The stair was in darkness none of the outside lights were working. The apartment was a two bedroom. It looked fine although we then discovered a lot of the lights werent working. No light at all in the bathroom. When we eventually spoke to the staff they acted like we were talking double dutch when we told them there was no light at all in the bathroom! They still didnt fix the kitchen light although they did fix the outside lights. Our room was never cleaned. We never received clean linen or towels the 7 days we were there. The sunbeds for the pool we had most of them were broken. Although Sunmaster who were booked our holiday through told us we would have a rep when we arrived we never seen this rep. There was no-one to complain to. The staff at the reception acted like they could not understand English. Puerto Pollensa was lovely and certainly would return but not to those apartments. Only glad we were only staying for 7 days or maybe we would have made an effort to find someone to complain to.

My family of 4 adults and 2 children arrived at the Habitat on 7/8/08 at 22.00 to be greeted by a receptionist that said our names were not down on list, we showed in our papers and stated we had paid for the Habitat. We had to follow him for 3 blocks to a dim building and he pointed up there 3 floors. We was glad to arrive as we had been travelling all day. Sadly we found the stairs filthy and could tell from the start something was wrong (everything was marked Garden Hotels). On looking around we found the tap water was Charcoal black and bathroom dirty there was no bedding, so went to fetch some from recpt. He could not believe us but obtained sheets , we also advised him again that we had paid for Habitat. A group of about 10 youths were all around this dim building drinking heavy and made us very concerned. The next day we tried to get some safe keys but was told that we was not their concern as Garden hotel had been sold to someone else. So we phoned Co-op travel and First Choice rep with our concerns and asked to be put in rooms we paid for. Rep stated that the rooms had been double booked due to Manager having Heart Attack and First Choice were aware and should have contacted us to change booking. After taking to all other families this is not true as the double bookings have been going on for at least 3 years. It took 4 days of hassle to be moved to correct rooms in Habitat (we only booked a 7 day Hol)and we was promised so many things as compension but nothing came of it. It seems all First Choice customers have been treated the same, as the Manger said they have agreed for this. We are now seeking a full refund to the stress this has cause. All we are not alone as many family are so desparate out their.
