Hotel Novotel Kuala Lumpur City Centre

We stayed twice in August, before and after our Penang trip. We had originally only booked the 1st KL stay as we thought we’d check out the other hotels in the area first and decide if we wanted to book here after Penang or stay elsewhere. As it turned out we liked the Novotel and decided to return here and they stored our luggage so that we didn’t have to lug all our KL shopping to Penang and back. We stayed for 2 nights at this establishment in Sept 2007. We had a Biz room and had access to the Biz Lounge. The hotel looks relatively new and was comfortable and clean. No complaints there though TV channels were rather limited! Rather interesting bathroom with a glass panel but am not sure if this is a standard feature in ALL guest rooms. Location wise was ok but I believe it will be more convenient when the connecting link between the hotel and the Pavillion( mega shopping centre) is completed in a few months time. We had a lovely stay at the Novotel. It is very close to the Monorail (2 min walk) and a 10 min walk from the Petronas towers (you'll get a view if you're lucky like us :-). The hotel seems brand new, the rooms are spotless, the pool is a little small but lovely and the gym is good. The only downside would be the breakfast, looks great on paper but they have some problems delivering, I'm just being picky really,

Food nice, location is good for me, but they charge additional fee for my innternet service3 30 ringgit per day. In fact in the broscure they provide broadband connection. But they said with your price there is no internet service for free: unfornutaley, it did not state in brocure. Carpet in the 17 floor smell not good. Bit disapointeed by the service. I have to wait 3 hour after i ordering to clean my rooms. Everityme I need tootpaste, i have to call and wait for long. Surprise with such big name. I dont want to use them... more

The biggest disappointment in my tour of Malaysia was the Novotel. Rooms were small but clean. But very basic (no iron, no ironing board). The choice of TV channels very poor (being a French hotel and not being able to offer TV5 was the most incredible for me). And the staff was not very good, sometime a bit too familiar. Only two good things about Novotel. The breakfast was excellent. The location was ideal. Not too far from Petronas and KLCC. And not too far from Bukit bintang. I am at the hotel writing this, sadly. (Paying 30 RM for 24 hours) The service here is horrible. I am on a trip around the entire South Pacific with my family and have had a pleasant experience with the hotels up until now. Upon checking in, I had booked a room with double beds, yet had to argue for about 3 minutes with the receptionist at the front desk in order to get two card keys (for two adults who would be in the room). Stayed twice this month -first stay for 2 nights, second stay for 3 nights. All staff I encountered were helpful, friendly and professional. Highly recommend booking the Executive rooms - I stayed each time in an Executive King. Check In is at the Biz Lounge on the 28th floor instead of at the front desk. The Executive rooms have views from floors 23 upwards and for my first stay, I was fortunate enough to have a view of the Twin Towers and KLCC. stayed here for a week with the family. booked 2 rooms, and the hotel accommodated our request for 2 adjoining rooms with the view of petronas. the hotel rooms are clean and comfortable. buffet breakfast did not have a wide spread but was reasonable enough for us. location was excellent as bukit bintang and klcc was all within walking distance. you can ride the monorail around to get to other parts. there are only 3 setbacks for this hotel : 1. the front desk staff are not properly trained to behave very professionally. they... more

We enjoyed our stay at the Novotel quite a lot. It is a very new and well maintained place. Our room was located at the 19th floor with a great view to the skyline and one of the Petronas Towers. The decoration is tasteful and the room size convenient. It is a clean place with all the in-room amenities you need for a pleasant stay. The breakfast gives a wide selection of food and drinks, the service there is well organised. After spending absolutely perfect 6 days at Sofitel Silom Bangkok I arrived at Kuala Lumpur. Decided to book 4 months earlier, always stay at French chain and am extremely happy. I was looking forward to it particularly due to the fact the airlines cancel the flight and I was running few hours late. I dreamt about hot bath and a bit of rest.
