Small, friendly and pleasantly chilled, the Martinez's cool pool is just what you need to dip into when that Majorcan sun burns too fiercely. The bar is open 24 hours with satellite TV and there's a snack bar for munchies plus shops and cafés within walking distance as well to keep you going.

" Roomy clean appartments. basic but... "

Roomy clean appartments. basic but all working kitchen facilities, pleasent staff.

Overall perfect if u want to avoid the pricier magaluf and still have easy accsess to magaluf. with a taxi only costing 5 euros.

The use of the other sister appartments also gives you a few different options for relaxing by any pool or a few drinks in any of the 24 hour bars.

Highly reccomend the excellent cooking of the gabarda hotel's Irish cook.

A great holiday all in all

" Four of us stayed at the Martinez in... "

Four of us stayed at the Martinez in September ‘07 and we had a fantastic time. We expected a room good enough to sleep in and that’s what we got. It was clean and roomy and our kitchen facilities all worked. Our bedroom fan seemed to be missing but we didn’t care after staggering in at the early hours.

The pool was small but never busy and the beach which was lovely was just a 5 min walk away! It was great having breakfast included because that’s what got us up before noon and the bar also served food till 6am which is exactly what we needed if we got home before then!

Overall I thought the Martinez was good value considering its cheapness and it was so easy to get into Magaluf! We had an excellent time!

" Stayed in hotel for 10 days with... "

Stayed in hotel for 10 days with hubby, my 17yr old son and his mate. I was a bit apprehensive at first as it is mainly a 20's hotel, but no need, the groups were great fun. They all seemed to be having a great time, with fancy dress nights, booze cruises etc. They were not too loud, the hotel security would not allow running in corridors and loud music at daft o'clock.

The standard of room was good, exceptionally clean, the linens, towels were changed regularly and the apartment cleaned throughout. The barmen I must give them both a mention Pedro does a mean breakfast, and keeps the pool area clean and tidy throughout the day, always with a smile and Bill the night-man does a mean burger and chips even at 6 in the morning. The bar is open all night so if you haven't had enough beer in Magaluf you can catch a couple more before you hit your bed. The food menu is Ok but if you want a larger selection then across the road is the sister hotel the Garbada they have an extensive menu, its good and cheap.

I would recommend this hotel only to those who do not have young children it is definitely not for families. The hotel is 5 mins walk from the beach, and about 5 euros in a taxi to Magaluf. Have fun!

" Had a brilliant time in Palma Nova... "

Had a brilliant time in Palma Nova and I went with quite a big group.

At first when we arrived I didn't think the apartments would be that good, as it seemed a bit quiet and as though there wasn't a lot around, but I quickly realised that the beach was about a five minute walk away, there was a ton of shops, restaurants and cafes.

I went into Magaluf a lot (especially at night time) and there was a lot of taxis there to take you and it came to about 5 Euros (that's only about 3.50 which is great) personally I preferred the walk there, it only took about 25 minutes and was lovely.

The apartments are really clean; the staff are great and always willing to help. I must admit it was great coming home in the early hours of the morning and being able to order food.

Exchanging traveller’s checks is very easy as there is another hotel just round the corner which exchanges them 24 hours a day.

I would definitely return there myself as it's just outside Magaluf which is really good cause you're outside the busy side of things but you're close enough, also the beach and shops are very nearby.

" Brian, Mike, Craig (25, 25, 21 - from... "

Brian, Mike, Craig (25, 25, 21 - from Scotland)

We had a cracking time in the Martinez apartments. We didn’t want to stay in Magalluf as we had been there in the past and wanted something on the outskirts. When we first got there though we thought we out in the sticks - miles from everything, but the beach is only 5 minutes walk and a taxi ride into Magalluf was only about 5 euros so we were happy with that so its not that far at all.

You could even walk it in about 25 minutes if you were keen. The apartments themselves are basic - what we expected for the price we paid, and is all 3 Scottish guys are looking for when we go abroad.

The apartments were spotlessly clean and spacious. We had a ground floor apartment facing the pool, which was great. The only drawback is that we didn’t have a balcony. I like to sit a chill with a cold beer on the balcony after a hard days roasting in the sun.

The pool itself is small but does the job in being able to cool you off. If you are looking for an Olympic size pool don’t go there. The pool though does have it’s advantages, in that because it is quite small you get to chat to people round the pool.

We met some cracking people at the Martinez and ended up going on nights out with them, especially the 10 Scouse girls - who were a scream. There is a 24 hour bar, which is handy if you fancy a wee cheeky pint at 6 in the morning on your way home!

The staff there are really friendly although one guy has a face like a smacked ar*e (or crabby ar*e, as the scouse girls called him.) They also serve food 24 hours a day and there is quite a good selection to be fair, and it is good quality and much cheaper than going to some of the restaurants on the sea front. At night there isn’t much noise. The people who stay in the Martinez tend to either sit in the bar when they get back from the night out or go to bed.

There was not loud music or folk running up and down the corridors, which is good. Aye, all in all if you want a holiday in Magalluf but don’t want to stay there - Martinez hits the spot.

I hope you have as good a time as wee did.

Cheers.

Scottish Brian, Mike & Craig.
