Hotel Marconi

The family run hotel has excellent service and very clean. When we arrived the girl at the reception desk came up to show us our lake view room and personally brought up our luggage a few moments later. We were greeting with a small pot of flowers in the room. The view from our room was fantastic and the breakfasts served are great with lots of home made Italian pastries and lots of variety of other food aswell. Me and my wife stayd for 3 nights in june 2006 and found the Marconi hotel just perfect. We bookd becouse of the great review´s here on TA. We were driving on a rental car and driving up sirmione penisula all the way to the castle on the and was great. You have to stop at a police booth to get a permit to drive inside the castle / town. Driving with lot´s of people walking around the car is wery special fealing ( some gave you the evil eye). But when you park your car on the hotel´s parking lot and walk into the hotel you get a wery good... more

We loved this hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was amazing, as was the view from our room. The lake front location in the centre of Sirmione is ideal.

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Marconi after reading many of the reviews here on TripAdvisor. We Loved it. Don't expect 5 star elegance but do expect a lovely small hotel in a perfect setting with simple and delicious home cooked food. I would go out of my way to stay here again. Many other guests did not have dinner each night at the hotel, choosing to try the many available restaurants in Sirmione. But we loved the patio setting, looking out over the lake. This is an excellent hotel in a great location. We stayed for 2 nights and the welcome and friendliness of the people was the highlight. The room was clean and we had a lovely view over the lake from the small balcony. Breakfast was very good.

What a lovely hotel, right on the edge of the lake, inside the walls of Sirmione. It was everything previous rewiewers had said. Carlo and his family were all so helpful and attentive, nothing was too much trouble. The breakfasts were fantastic,especially all those wonderful cakes and pastries. The hotel rooms spotlessly clean. A very efficiently run small family hotel and very good value. Nice little touches like the pot plant in your room on arrival and the lovely home made cake to take home on departure. Looking forward to going... more

A stunning hotel, great location. Loved that we were in the town and had to go through the cobbled streets to get to it. Loved sitting on the terrace with a glass of wine and watching the sunset. Got a room in the hotel the first night but then had to move to the rooms in the annex. Which still had a balcony (actually two). Very helpful staff. Amazing breakfast so many cakes and pastries. This hotel has every ingredient for a perfect short break. The arrival in Sirmione is spectacular, driving across a drawbridge and into the Castle before finding the cobbled alley to the hotel. The hotel staff are very friendly and service is of the highest quality. The room was spotlessly clean and the breakfast was the best I've had at a hotel outside the UK. We stayed at this hotel due to its rating on TripAdvisor - and were delighted. Every positive thing we'd read from the previous reviews was correct. Importantly, the hotel is in a fantastic position to enjoy Sirmione by foot - as we travelled by public transport or foot for our holiday. The Roman villa and fantastic viewspot are only 20 mins walk away, while the castle and the pier for the passenger ferries are very close indeed. I'd love to go back to Sirmione again - and if I do, I'm staying here.

Lovely lakeside location, but you drive through the entire pedestrian-only town on one way streets full of people to get to it. We took a twin room in the annexe overlooking the hotel parking lot/courtyard, but it was quiet and nice. Enjoyed a great breakfast on the terrace overlooking the lake. Breakfast was included, and the buffet had everything from cereal and eggs to pastries. They must have been trying to appeal to tourists from all countries with this selection. We paid only 88 euro/ night, which was great considering the setting.... more
