A Paradise

What an incredible place to stay. The setting is magical, the Hosts are first class, rooms spa beautiful, breakfast foods delicious. We stayed for a week this summer and I would highly recommend this Band B if you want comfort and beauty during your stay in Manuel Antonio. We were treated like VIP's. I loved it and would return, and not hesitate to refer others.
Gorgeous Property!

This was the perfect place to spend a week with my fiance that included our vacation, our wedding and with that said...honeymoon. The hosts, Joni and Jeff are interesting, warm, and attentive. The Mango Moon was pretty much fully occupied during our stay and these owners tended to everyone's needs as if each couple were VIP's. Our marriage took place on the beach below their hotel and afterwards we met at the Mango Moon's reception area for champagne and Joni brought out some finger food to go with it. Jeff uses his spare time to play...

Owners and Stay- Both Amazing
from A TripAdvisor Member
My wife and I spent three nights at the Mango Moon for our honeymoon. The luxurious, newly built accomodations included spacious rooms and a balcony overlooking a tropical jungle rolling down to the sea. If you wake early for the full complimentary breakfast on this balcony, you can take in a caravan of white-face monkeys travelling overhead in the canopy that just spans the pool and sunning patio one story down. The owner, Jeff, and his daughter, Jessica, were running the desk and working on small dinner-for-two specials...

Great Stay and Good Recommendations
from A TripAdvisor Member
My boyfriend and I stayed with the folks at Mango Moon for 5 days in June 2005. The accomodations were clean and well decorated. There were a few things we wanted to do while visiting lovely Costa Rica and the staff gave the very best recommendations! We visited the Sea Glass Spa for a whole day of treatments and went on an awsome horseback riding trip. All of the restaurants they told us about turned out to be great! The Mgr. Carlos even took me to the store late the first night we got there because one of our suitcases did not make the...

My girlfriend and I took a two week trip in costa rica. We stayed in Jaco, Tamarindo, Playa Langosta. Our last part of the stay was supposed to be at the Mango Moon in Manuel Antonio. We stayed for two days and unfortunately had to cut our trip short because of a medical issue with one of our parents in the U.S. I talked to Jeff about getting a portion of my money back as we would have to forfeit 5 nights of our stay. I even offered to pay for an additional night for his troubles. After listening to Jeff's unwillingness to work with us...

Retreat at Mango Moon
from A TripAdvisor Member
My boyfriend and I went to Costa Rica in Feb 2005 for 10 days. In total, we stayed in 5 different hotels around the north-western side of the country. We've stayed in luxury resorts (cold), all-inclusives (impersonal) and popular hotel chain (a little dirty and old). Although Mango Moon was pricy, it was a well-deserved retreat for tired bodies at the end of a day. We stayed at Mango Moon for 2 nights and they were the most memorable of all hotels/B&Bs. The room was very clean, with a wonderful bathroom, the bedding was luxurious...

DO NOT GO!!!!!!!!!!
from A TripAdvisor Member
We booked our room at the Mango Moon very far in advance. Going off of the web site, the Mango Moon looks much nicer than it in fact is. Let me state first off, we stayed in the Queen oceanview room. We paid $128 including taxes a night. The maid cleaned our room one time. There was construction going on right next to our room that lasted all day and well into the night. This did not lead to ANY relaxation as I couldn't even read a book. ANNOYING. Let me add that there are no phones, coffee makers or any extra amenities that...

Management response from mangomoon
Dear Travel Friends:
In response to the review written by "get up girl", we want to 1st of all thank the 98% of our guests who come happy, enjoy the beauty & hospitality of Costa Rica, and leave happy. At Mango Moon, it is normal for our guests to rise early in the day to spot a monkey, toucan or sloth while socializing with the other guests over an endless cup of rich Costa Rican coffee and savor the full buffet breakfast we offer to all of our guests included in the room rate. There are a small percentage of people who do not come to Costa Rica for the wildlife, adventure tours, and sport fishing; instead, there are some guests who come for the all nightlife & party. In the case of "get up girl", the staff at Mango Moon had every reason to believe the story presented (in order to receive a cash refund off the credit card used) was untrue. With persistence (for a day & 1/2), this young couple was more concerned with a cash refund off the credit card used than the family emergency. We feel the review written by "get up girl" is inaccurate, exaggerated and shows contempt & emotion. Safe and Happy Travels!
Wonderful spot

El Mango Moon is a wonderful small hotel with a beautiful expansive view down to the ocean and an enticing disappearing edge pool in which to relax and take it all in. We enjoyed the morning breakfasts and the trip down to the mostly private beach. We'll happily return.
Wonderful Atmosphere, Good Hosts
from Jimsjer
My husband and I stayed here for three days on a nine day trip to the country. We stayed in a room on the lower floor, off to the side, and were delighted with the accomodations. Our shower was huge, and the bathroom was lovely. I'm an interior designer, so the atmosphere and details of a room are very important to me. I was quite pleased with the comfortable beds, and although the room was not four or five stars by any American Hotel standard (average thread count sheets, lack of desk space), it was amazing by Costa Rican standards....

So comfortable and Beautiful at Mango Moon
from keffy
I just got back from M.A. and we stayed at Mango Moon. It was such a great find. The place is beautiful and intimate. The view is great and it was so nice to sit at breakfast and look out over the trees and see the ocean in the distance. It is a really peaceful hotel. The staff was helpful, the rooms were beautiful - we got our own robes and the bathroom and shower was really big with plenty of hot water. The bed was super comfy. I felt like I was staying at a resort. They have a nice trail that takes about 10-15 minutes to walk down...
