Hotel Lux

I just stayed at Hotel Lux for 4 nights. For the most part, it was quite good: clean, superb location, and totally quiet in my room, which was in a hotel annex just around the corner from the main hotel. I had reserved three single rooms online for myself and two coworkers. There was a pretty jaw-dropping disparity among them. Two of us had really nice, decently sized rooms with a double bed and lots of space. The Hotel Lux was clean and the location is excellent - close to the water taxi (Vaporetto), and to San Marco square - close to all shops sites, and restaurants. The staff was helpful and nice - their English limited, but not a problem to communicate. The rooms were nicely decorated, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was mostly just rolls, coffee and juice, and the breakfast room small - the hotel is very small - but a lovely boutique hotel. The only problem one might have would be with the stairs. Have stayed here now 3 times over the last 5 years. We won't consider anywhere else. The location can't be beaten for the price, 2 minutes to vaporetto stage, 3 minutes to St. Marks (you can hear the bells from your room). My partner is VERY fussy on hotel rooms, especially the bathroom. If she is more than happy with it, and she is with the Lux enough said! We always try to get room 305, which is slightly larger than the rest. The only slight (and it is very slight) downside is the climb up the stairs (there is no lift)

Went on a month long trip in March including stays in London, Paris, Venice and Rome. All the hotels I stayed in was in the 50 to 70 euro price range. The Lux was head and shoulders above the rest: Really good rooms, good bathrooms, very quite, good breakfast with lots of espresso, and above all an unbeatable location. I would love to stay here again, and would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

The Lux Hotel is a nice and clean hotel. Although the rooms are a bit small, and the breakfast area is also a bit cramped, the hotel is clean, the staff is efficient and friendly, and the location is ideal. It is a two-minute walk from San Marco square and a minute walk to the main water bus stop.

The Lux Hotel was a fine hotel on a budget. It is ideally located in the center of Venice (just a few blocks from the Piazza San Marco). The room was small, but charming. The bathrooms were very clean and fully equipped. The hotel offered a modest breakfast typical of other hotels in Italy. The staff was pleasant and helfpful. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who wants neat and simple.

Very close to San Marco Square as well as the vaporetto stop. Also, compared to most Venitian hotels, it was very easy to find, so we didn't have to lug our suitcase all over the place, looking for it. While an elevator would have been nice, this is Venice, and the the lack of one added to the charm. There was a nice breakfast spread, and service was very good. I would stay there again.

My family stayed there in July 2004. The hotel is very well located, literally next to St Mark's quare. It's only downfall is that it's very small, epsecially the breakfast room and as everyone else has noted it has no lift. The rooms are in a very good condition, beautifully decorated and well equipped. For it's price I think it is well worth staying at this hotel.

We booked two double rooms on the Internet and all went fine. The location can't be beat and the price is very reasonable considering the fact that you're next to St. Marks Square. One of the rooms had a problem with the toilet but was taken care of right away. The rooms are a bit small but very clean, a/c working good. Breakfast room is very small and only holds a few guests, you may have to wait a little, especially round 9 in the morning. What a find. I booked the hotel using the reviews i had seen on tripadvisor, and was nervous when arriving with my wife for a long weekend stay. But all me fears were put aside as soon as we stepped into our room. All staff were friendly, and helpful, and the room (although fairly compact) was excellent with TV, bath and shower, air conditioning, fridge etc. It is only a 2 minute walk from the San Zaccaria boat stop, and a 5 minute stroll from St Marks Square. An excellent location, a lovely place, and a very reasonable price for Venice.
