Hotel La Tosca

9 of us stayed at this hotel in October for 3 nights and the hotel was everything expected and WAY more! The hotel was extremely clean and the capucinno every morning was soo amazing!! The owner went out of his way to be helpful in suggesting local restuarants, bought our group a bottle of wine one night because the hotel didn't offer wine, made transportation arrangements and just was attentive to our groups every need! Don't let the star rating chase you away! We cannot say enough good things about this small, simple hotel! The newly renovated accommodations were very clean, quaint, and charming. On an island so full of glitz and glam it is nice to see that some areas remain unspoiled, and La Tosca is one of them. What a treasure this hotel is! We wanted to stay a night on Capri and not break the bank and this was certainly the spot. We had a lovely, clean room at the back. We didn't mind not having an ocean view as we weren't in the room that much of the time. Rooms with a view are a bit more. We had an absolutly wonderfull stay at La Tosca in July this summer. The room was very very clean and very orderly and the Mr. Ettore Castelli and his piano playing companion made sure that your stay in Capri was an unforgetable experience. Location is perfect with a beautiful view of Capri and the Faraglioni rocks from your window or the lovely deck. Great value hotel! The hotel is newly renovated, spotlessly clean and the staff were great. Some of the rooms have great views over the monastery and down to the Faraglioni. Our room (47) seemed to be slightly bigger than that next door when I took a sneaky peek over the balcony. The room had its own private balcony with deck chairs, table and parasol. This hotel is a few blocks from the piazzetta-in a quiet spot. The rooms are worthy of 4 stars-beautiful, newly renovated. Excellent bathrooms and air conditioning. Nice large terrace with ocean views. A great place-why pay more?

Spent 4 days here as part of honeymoon and it excelled as the only place in Capri where nobody tried to rip you off. The people on the front desk were very polite and courtious, the room was large and clean and had a wonderful balcony with an amazing view over the island. Only slight criticism would be the slight smell from the drains but I believe this is more an Island issue rather than a hotel one. They even sent an email afterwards to say thank you for staying, nice touch.

La Tosca in Capri is absolutely wonderful, it was my husbands first time on Capri and not only he was he blown away by the beauty of the island he was also very appreciative of Ettori Castelli's and his staff's hospitality. We loved LaTosca! Our room was large, clean, sunny and had a beautiful view down to the Faraglioni. It is easy to get anywhere from the Hotel--only 5 minutes to the Piazetta, but a world away in terms of peace and quiet! We had no problem reserving with a credit card-- We faxed the relevant info, and all was well! Ettore was a big help-his english is lovely. La Tosca is conveniently located... only 5 minutes from the piazzetta. Our room was large, simply furnished and had a great view. And for 125 Euro a night (in Capri town!!!) it was a steal! Ettore, the owner, was incredibly helpful. He gave us directions, suggested restaurants, even called to make reservations for us. The only negative I have to say about the Tosca experience was that you can't use a credit card to make a reservation. You have to mail in a money order deposit. But the minor hassle was worth it!
