Hotel Grotta

I am not suprised when I saw Grotta Hotel was ranked first in trip advisors among hotels in naxos. I stayed in Grotta Hotel for my honeymoon. The hotel is excellent with probably one of the best locations in Naxos. It is very close to the town centre (just a few mintues walk) and the room view is amazing. It's hard to imagine a more inviting place to stay, at any price. Everyone was warm, patient, helpful, and just plain nice. Our room was quiet, spotless, very spacious and with an equally spacious balcony with great views of the old town. Breakfast is fresh and tasty. The Hotel Grotta is excellent value and I would return--will return--on my next visit to Naxos. It's like having one's own little place in the Cyclades, all to oneself. A real treat.

We stayed two nights in mid June at the Hotel Grotta. We had a wonderful stay at a hotel where the owners were delightful and rooms exceptionally clean. We were picked up and dropped off at the port by Dimitris and given a warm welcome by Nicol. The breakfast is plentiful and delicious, especialy the home made fruit salad. The dining room is really tastefully decorated and has lovely views. Our room had a wonderful view of the ocean. Would highly recommend this hotel and its lovely owners. They certainly made our stay perfect.

My boyfriend and I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights while visiting Naxos island. I agree 100% with other reviewers, the service is so friendly and we were greeted with a local drink upon arrival! They also gave us a map of the island, and recommended one of the best restaurants from our trip. Truly a great place to stay you will not be dissapointed.

Hotel Grotta is family run and the service we received was remarkable. It's worth a little extra to stay upstairs with a view of the Aegean and Old Town Naxos. This hotel is a 5 minute walk from the port and is convenient to all of Naxos Town attractions. In Greece we found that the quality of the people running the establishment was the make-it-or-break it factor. The family that runs Hotel Grotta is great. They welcome you to their hotel with a complimentary drink from the bar and take the time to answer any questions you have about the island. It is a "mom-and-pop" establishment in the absolute best sense of the phrase. They want to hear how you spent your day if you run into them coming in and are full of suggestions and anecdotes. Naxos was our favourite island we visited in the Cyclades. Hotel Grotta certainly made our stay here very enjoyable & relaxing. Our room overlooked the Aegean sea with a view of the Gate of Apollo. Awaking every morning to see this got our days off to a wonderful start. My wife and I stayed at the Grotta in early October 2005. I chose it because of reviews on this site and we're so glad we did. We can enthusiastically endorse every positive comment about the hotel, the wonderful family proprietors, the fantastic location. Stayed here in early August for 6 nights. One of the few hotels in the Greek Islands that readily accepts credit cards. Though we had arranged for the hotel shuttle to pick us up at the airport, we had to take a shared taxi to the Hotel Grotta since the shuttle was a no-show. Upon arrival, Dimitri who runs the Hotel, quickly apologized for the oversight as he had forgotten to write us down in the hotel register. This is without a doubt the best place to stay. The family that runs this hotel is so friendly and kind. They set up a car rental for us and helped us create an itinerary for the day of which towns to see and which beaches to go to. It was the best day of our entire three week trip to Greece. The hotel is a 5 min. walk to town and a 10 min. walk to the castle. The rooms are very well decorated, clean, and roomy. The views from the hotel are great. The breakfast was great.
