Hotel Gardenia & Villa Charme

Just back from the Gardenia and enjoyed my stay. The rooms are not expecially luxurious, but they are clean, have good showers and a comfortable bed. The breakfast was good, it's about 10/15 mins stroll into the centre of Bardolino, and there are 2 outdoor pools to choose from. I thought it was a bit pricey for what you actually get - EUR 114 per night - but, that said I didn't shop around, so it may well be a standard Bardolino price for this time of year. Having just returned from a lovely 10 days at the Gardenia Hotel, we have to say that quite apart from the clean and excellent accommodation the hospitality offered was quite simply the best we have encountered in many years of travelling. We agree with previous comments regarding the warm and friendly staff and the quality of their advice, with maps and helpful tips about places to visit. We enjoyed our time in Bardolino and found the Gardenia Hotel to be very nice but I am surprised that it is the no.1 hotel in the area according to Tripadvisor. The hotel is small and very friendly and it has nice views and two pool areas. I preferred the pool at the neighbouring Villa Charme as the hotel pool has pop music playing most days and was almost on the street. The rooms were adequate and clean. We stayed at the hotel for a fortnight from 5th to 19th July. It was our first time staying at this hotel but we would not stay anywhere else in this area now. The resort of Bardolino is the nicest town in the South of the lake and an excellent base. Our favourite restaurant in Bardolino is the restaurant of the Hotel Catullo. We have just returned from a superb 10 days at the Gardenia Hotel. We requested a “panorama” room and were not disappointed with the lovely view of the lake across roof tops from the balcony. We found all of the staff to be warm and friendly with the reception staff being very knowledgeable with advice, maps and helpful tips about places to visit. Almost all of the staff spoke English. The Hotel Gardenia has spoilt us for other hotels. It was so well run by the extremely friendly staff that our holiday was perfection. We hesitate to recommend this hotel as we may not be able to get in next time ! Thank you to the staff.

I have been checking reviews for many months on this hotel and most if not all are excellent, but until you see it for yourself, you can never be sure. My wife and I arrived on Sunday the 28th of May 2006. The hotel is on the main lake road, but set back about 50yards, so you get little traffic noise. The outside of the hotel is just like the photos, bright colourful flowers in the hanging baskets etc. There is plenty of parking and we never had problems parking the car in the hotel's car-park. my wife and i arrived at the gardenia after a drive from our home in scotland, and were delighted at our choice, the staff were wonderfull and the room was spacious modern and very clean, the breakfast in yhe morning was to die for and was as good if not better than any hotel we have stayed in during our many european travels. i would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to travellers who like attentive friendly service and a peacefull stay derek and audrey, dunfermline scotland

Me and my girlfriend spnet there a nice few days driving arround the lake visiting many knock-out small towns. Hotel Gardenia is much more then 3 stars as they say. Nice, clean and brend new furniture. We took an apartment in house aside main building with lake view. Charming. outstanding service from multi language personel. Go and rest. Beautiful Verona is just a 20 min car drive.

Excellent hotel, great staff and a great holiday.
