Hotel Commercio & Pellegrino

Venice was the first stop on our honeymoon and although the room and bathroom were small and bare, they were pretty standard for Europe. The service was great, breakfast easy, and the fantastic location made it always easy to return home to the restroom instead of searching for public ones around the island. Not the most romantic hotel, but great for the money!

We just got back from our 10 day vacation in Rome, Florence, & Venice. This hotel was wonderful all the way around. It was close to Piazza San Marco and everything else. The water taxi was right around the corner. Very nice staff, nice size rooms (& bathrooms), clean, & a nice breakfast in the mornings. I am recommending this hotel to everyone that wants to visit Venice.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights as part of a 2 week vacation. The hotel is easily accessed by Water Bus from the train station at the Zaccaria stop. The website for the hotel provides great directions for arrival. The hotel is located right behind San Marco square, so location is excellent for exploring Venice on foot, or accessing the water bus system from the Zaccaria stop. The hotel has a superb location, steps from a busy vaporetto stop, providing easy access to go anywhere. It is a pretty, clean Euro style hotel, with limited but decent breakfast choices. I can't imagine finding a better hotel for a lower rate.

We just got back from an 8 day italy trip - 3 nights rome, 2 nights florence, 2 nights venice. This hotel location was fantastic! It is a 1/2 block from the water bus (which is extremely important in venice!) and is down the street from the Piazza San Marco. In fact depending on which water bus you take and the direction, it is the bus stop for the piazza san marco. We stayed here for 3 nights on our wedding anniversary. First Time to Venice and what a wonderful city we discovered. I do not have time to comment on all the wonderful tihings we saw but you could walk for days and still not see everything. We saw hotel in a sunday paper guide and booked direct with Hotel. We stayed there for 4 nights in august after having searched around in different hotels and visited hotel rooms. Hotel Commercio and Pellegrino had very nice clean rooms with bathroom and tub as we like it. The price was one of the best in town at that moment and gave good quality. Breakfast is well served. The location of this hotel is great for visiting Venice. It's only 200 m away from S.Marco and many boat lines arrive at Riva Schiavone at about 50m from the hotel. Excellent location.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights (Room 306). The location is absolutely superb being a couple of minutes from Basilica S Marco, the Doge's Palace and San Zaccaria waterbus stop at the start of the Grand Canal. The room was satisfactory but we were disappointed not to have tea/coffee making facilities. The shower room was small and clean with good shower pressure. The continental breakfast was very basic with orange and grapefruit "drinks" rather than fruit "juice", unappealing cereals and tinned fruit salad. Overall - a good... more

My husband & I just spent 3 nights at the hotel commercio & pellegrino and were delighted with our stay. The hotel is directly behind the Hotel Danelli (4-5*) and the Doges Palace and is a 2 minute walk from the St Zacceria vaparetto water stop & has an elevator. The staff speak English & are very friendly and always have good suggestions for everything including gondolas rides, restaurants and pharmacies open on Sundays. The hotel was wonderful, they were polite and helpfull. It is a confy hotel, eventhou the restroom in very nice the shower was small, there were 2 twin beds taht could be pushed together to make a king size. It is in a wonderful location it is actualy one of the stops of the water bus it is the one right after plaza San Marco stop (Please Dont take a taxy and just buy a week pass or a 3 day pass for the water bus) it is very convenient to take the water bus to sight see and walk to all the places it is a very beatiful place.
