Hotel Buca di Bacco

We could not have been happier with the Buca di Bacco Hotel. If you plan to spend your days at the beach it is by far the best choice. The bottom of the hill is where the action is and the convenience of being able to run back to your hotel room from the beach is helpful. If you are up the hill you may actually need to catch a bus and walk the rest of the way down. In the evening you will enjoy going up the hill to shop and dine. We are just back from our second visit to Buca di Bacco. A wonderful trip where the same staff gave as a warm welcome. Francesco is a superb manager. The room we had was comfortable and very clean. The hotel very is well situated with beautiful views across the bay where you can watch the day start with boats coming and going. The breakfast are delicious; Plenty of fresh fruit and juice on offer, pastries and cakes to keep you going and hams and cheeses to try not to mention cereals and cooked english if you want! Really pleased with this hotel. The staff where friendly and the position of the hotel is perfect. Rooms really clean and spacious. Be sure to ask for a room with a view, or you might get stuck with a balcony facing a wall. Positano is a must for anyone travelling to Italy!

We stayed 2 nights in early November 2005, and generally agree with the other reviews about this wonderful hotel. As well as the excellent breakfast, we also highly recommend lunch or dinner in the hotel restaurant. However, the hotel is not easy to find so make sure you get good directions. Take minimal luggage and be prepared for lots of walking uphill. The walk around to the next beach towards Sorrento is a must.

My wife and I just spent seven nights at the Buca Di Bacco and we had a wonderful time. The staff was very friendly, especially Francesco the manager and Patrick, a waiter in the Hotel. We were in Room # 46 which was one of the smaller rooms but adequate size wise. Like all rooms, we had a balcony that overlooked the Mediterranean Sea and we sat out every night and just gazed at the water and the lights. Just came back from Positano. We liked Buca di Bacco hotel very much. We were there with a group of friends so we had a chance to see 5 different rooms. Each was unique. Those with terraces were better but they also a bit more expensive. We really felt we could not ask for more!!! Close enough to the beach, just few steps, fantastic view, very helpful staff, nice breakfast, very good restaurants. And that fantastic endless sea...all around you

Really enjoyed our stay at the Buca.The hotels position and service exceeded our expectations. It really is located in the best position in Positano and as our room had a balcony it was a delight to just sit and enjoy a pre dinner dring overlooking the beautiful town. Will be back one day!

great location - you would not want to be anywhere else. The staff are so friendly and yes very helpful. We had a larege room with a huge deck with table and chairs- great for early evening. Positano isn't the easiest place to get to so make sure you are there for at least 3 days. The Buca is so much better than what you see on the web site it truely was a delight. We would love to go back. One word of warning - do not rely on the ferry sailing from Sorento to Positano - it never sailed in the 3 days we were there - we ended up going... more

This is a beautiful hotel set overlooking the sea right amongst the shopping in Positano.The staff were fantastic,they had free internet access and the rooms had a lovely Italian flair to them.The buffet breakfast was fabulous and the setting on the outdoor terrace captivating.We fell in love with Positano and this hotel and would love to return there someday

We had stayed in Buca di Bacco for 3 nights and was given one of the most lovely rooms, just one floor above the reception,(think it was room 12) with direct views of the beach. The room was very clean, with air-condtion and a good sized bathroom. We also had a balcony where there was 2 chairs and a table for us to sit to enjoy the gorgeous view.
