The 1 bed apartments are spacious and have a 2 ring cooker, fridge and toaster. There is a TV, which has BBC1, euro sports and CNN in English. You have to pay a 10 euro deposit for the TV remote control, keep your receipt because you need it to get your 10 euro’s back.... more

Vista Badia - The German Hotel
We stayed at the Vista Badia after reading the good reports. The hotel itself is very nice, and the reception staff very friendly and helpful. The staff in restaurant were a little stroppy (banging plates etc, moaning about people in Spanish - you would think they would realise some English guests do actually speak Spanish....!) They ALWAYS made sure the German guests were seen to first then the English got a second rate service. We only heard 5 English voices in 2 weeks at the hotel...........! This hotel really is mainly for German guests so be prepared to be pushed, shoved, even children barged out of their way so they get to where ever they are going first, and don't ever expect a thank you! The English queue patiently but annoyingly this is not the case for the German guests who just pushed way to front of every single queue. The Vista sunbeds are not nearly as packed in as the Safari (sister hotel opposite) - there was not any space at all - just a sea of beds - once you found a sunbed it would have been hard to move again! Despite saying you are not allowed to reserve sunbeds you had to - can't beat them, join them. You can use beach towels supplied by hotel so that saves you taking your own. 95% of the entertainment is by the Hotels Animation Team and despite them working really hard it was VERY poor indeed, most nights even embarrassing. The rooms were clean with bedding and towels cleaned 5 days a week (not Tues or Sat). The food is EXACTLY the same day in, day out and again mainly catered for the Germans tastes! The hotel/ Thomson advertise Sky TV (also BBC1) however we arrived on Thursday 30th August and complained every day to hotel as we had no English TV at all - it was all German channels only to be told "we don't know when it will be fixed". We also complained to our Thomson rep however nothing was done. Having two babies under 2 years old our evening entertainment was meant to be the evening TV......! Restaurants we found to be very good were The Kings Head and in particular Juans Steak House. It should be noted on brochures that this hotel is 80% for German guests, this was the most disappointing part of the holiday.
PROTY PROTY PROTY
Vista Badia is probably the best hotel in the resort. The main problems were sunbeds but comparing it to coma playa and the Safari it was so much better. We chose the wrong resort I think. It was quiet compared to millor which is what we wanted, it wasnt picturesque like cala bona at all. If you like Blackpool this is for you as is cala millor, as a pevious reviewer said its chips and pizza with everything. we wont go back to resort, though hotel was generally good. We booked direct on protur website saved £700 and flew with thomsonfly. 2 adults 2 kids 1 infant travelled.
Great for families
Just got back from 11 nights at the Vista Badia which was booked direct on their web site (very easy to do). We booked all inclusive and found this to be good value for money. The apartment was roomy enough for 2 adults and our son, you might struggle if you wanted to cook meals in the room as you only have two rings. The air con worked great and the water was always hot for baths or showers. We paid 10 euros each for three towels, which you got back when you left and you can change them each day so saves taking your own. My only gripe was the norm these days of having to be up at crack of dawn to get a sunbed, hotel says they will remove these at 9.00 am each day but never did. It does feel a bit cramp will sunbeds during the day but there are three pools, a play area for the kids and kids clubs as well. Proturs have four hotels in a group in Sa Coma and you also benefit from the extra facilities they offer to guests of all four hotels. They have a seperate play area with trampalines, a climbing area and a small pool. They have three 18 hole mini golf courses. They have a number of activities such as tennis, soccer, golf, scuba diving etc that you can have a go at. They also have what they call the "le reserva" which is a seperate water park with a couple of water slide in it, this does cost extra 10 euros for adults and 5 for kids if you are all inclusive - more expensive if not. The park opens at 10.30 and we found it a lot less crowded than any of the pool areas of any of the hotels and you also get all food and drinks included whilst in the park. The food we found to be OK, breakfast and lunch offered a good choice - pancakes and/or omlettes were great, the evening meal choice was probably more suited to the German guests who were in the majority. You are able to book at 4 other choices at evening times but book as early as possible for all of them and not one day in advance as your intro letter says! Sa Coma itself is quite small and easy to walk around, the beach is a 5 min walk and is great for kids as it gently slopes out. I can't really comment on the evening entertainment as hotel entertainers are something I avoid wherever possible but from what I was told they tried or was that trying? In summary it is a great place to go if you have younger kids, the staff at the hotel were all helpful, the room was clean and the food was fine. There is plenty to keep the kids entertained and so you can hopefully enjoy the weather in peace for a little while as well.
great family hotel
We booked this hotel direct from internet - saved £1000 on Thomson price. We had a great time with our two children aged 11 an 13 - it is a real family hotel. Not many english at the hotel - but enough for our two children to make friends - so much so they never wanted to leave the hotel. The kids clubs were great for children of all ages and the entertainment staff were terrific - very multilingual and made us tired just watching them all day in action. We went on all inclusive and found this to be excellent value - the food was good and there was even waiter service from the bar during the day and the evening - no problem getting a drink. Our two fussy children never went hungry and ate enough icecream and drinks to justify the cost. They even brought a birthday cake out for my daughter for her birthday. The apartments were large clean and comfortable and the air con worked very well - didn't spend much time in our room, tv very limited. As part of the all inclusive all the facilities of the sa coma sports club are included - try the spa ( no kids) fantastic way to spend an hour relaxing. top tips :- the hotel provides towel for the pool that can be changed daily, book meals for the different restaurants when you arrive as you may have to wait a week to get a reservation at one, check out the sports club for other activites that are included ( we went scuba diving and inline skating) .
Very nice with 1 or 2 small ifs and buts
A very nice, clean hotel. Very spacious well-decorated rooms and a nice pool. Staff very friendly. Small portable tv in room. If you're English, you may find the channel selection a little disappointing - ITV1, CNN News and Eurosport the only English language channels, the other 15 or so being Spanish or German. The pool is well-designed but the sunbeds around the pool are packed together like sardines and due to the very large size of the hotel and hence the large number of guests, there really isn't enough room to have a little personal space around the pool. I spent most of my time down the beach (still quite crowded) 500m away. There is a separate bedroom in the apartment, and the beds were a good size, though a little on the hard side. Cleaners are efficient and come 5 days a week. Kitchen facilities are a little disappointing. If you are looking for a true self-catering holiday then you may wish to look elsewhere. The hotel info I was given led me to expect a microwave, whereas there actually wasn't one. The "kitchen" consists of a fridge, cutlery and crockery and 2 hobs - and thats it! Another slightly misleading thing, according to the literature there were supposed to be bathrobes supplied - but they weren't. Not a great hardship, granted, but why say it, if they're not there? One final point - the evening entertainment is truly appaling, unless perhaps you're under the age of 6. There's plenty else to do to entertain oneself elsewhere in the resort anyway. Overall, would definitely go again.
Very Good Hotel
Just back from a weeks self catering holiday at the Vista Badia Aparthotel in Sa Coma. The apartment was large, clean with good working air conditioning and an excellent bathroom. The facilities in the hotel are very good with a large heated pool, plenty of sunbeds & umbrellas. For families with small kids, there was plenty of organised entertainment during the day. The whole hotel was spotless and well orgainised. We would definitely stay there again.
Very nice hotel - would visit again
This was a very nice hotel - the rooms were spacious and well equipped and the staff were very helpful. It is full of Germans as other reviews have mentioned but I thought this was a positive thing as we are Scottish...We went with our 2 year old and he had a fab time running between the 2 kiddie pools. Most people were there on all inclusive basis but the hotel allows you to pick and choose what you want so we were able to have half board some days and the others when we went on days trips we just took breakfast. All the food was excellent but you won't get chips and egg... Definitely recommended. PS If you do go make sure you get a room well away from the Kings Head Bar (run by English people) on the corner - despite the local laws which say you must have load music off by midnight it regularly goes on until 3am - we had to move rooms after a couple of days.
Brilliant Holiday
Have just returned from a 9 night stay and loved it. The apartment was clean, spacious, well equipped and had a large balcony. Hotel staff were friendly and the service was good. This hotel is dominated by Germans but, as a previous review said, this does generally mean quality. We decided to upgrade to 7 days 'all inclusive' which for us turned out to be the right choice. Our two girls (aged 5 and 6) wanted to spend every waking moment in the (fabulous) pool which meant we did spend most of our time on the complex. We tend to think that if the children are having a good holiday, we are having a good holiday. There were definately issues with reserving sunbeds though. Although the hotel policy is to remove towels from sunbeds at 8.45 am, that certainly wasn't happening during our stay. However, there were enough loungers for the amount of people staying at the hotel. We had food and drink available to us through out the whole day and found the buffet excellent. We did eat out a few times and, although it was always nice, it seemed to be the same old choices. I was able to avoid the girls eating nuggets and chips every night! The evening entertainment was the usual - kids loved it, we relaxed with a few drinks! The beach was nice but very crowded - took 5-10mins to walk depending on how much stuff we had and how whingy the kids were in the heat! Only complaint I had to make was the kids entertainers didn't always remember that there were English speaking children there but, once pointed out to them this was always resolved. Would return to this hotel. Next time will spend a few more evenings away from the complex.
We liked it - some folks won't!
Just returned from the Vista Badia and we had a great holiday. The hotel is primarily German occupied, but that to us always means quality! We booked self-catering which proved to be absolutely the right decision. Apartments are spacious with twin beds in the bedrooms and two proper sofa-style beds in the lounge area. Have slept in more comfortable beds but have been in much worse. The bathroom was the same as the rest of the apartment, spotlessly clean and included a bath as well as a shower. To complete things, there was a large balcony overlooking the pool which was a real sun-trap in the afternoons - PERFECT! The pool is a good size and was cleaned each day at 8am. There was a policy of no towels on beds before 9am and any which were there were removed! The hotel is in a complex of 4 properties and we found the Badia was the best as the others were all very crowded around the pool whereas the Badia was more laod back. The Protur Club Sa Coma had good facilities for Kids and was only a very short walk away. The entertainment was mainly aimed at the German market although there were announcements in English. It was quite funny to watch but I wouldn't describe it as quality! We went out elsewhere, but that was the idea from the outset anyway. The hotel bar prices were the same as the bars in town and the beer good! The hotel does offer the chance to upgrade to all-inclusive on arrival but don't do it as the menus are definitely German based as they all book on all-inclusive as standard. Now to the English take - 80 yards away via the pool exit is the Kings Head English Pub. We ate here most evenings and the food was good and plentiful, almost too much so! They also did a good English breakfast for 4 Euros. In the evenings there were Queen, ABBA and Blues Brothers tribute bands and kids discos. Quality place and spotlessly clean. Sa Coma itself has a great beach which was only 5 minutes walk away via the shops and we walked round the resort and found that this was the best place to stay in our opinion. Basic summary, if you like clean accommodation close to the beach and aren't at all bothered by Germans in your hotel (which we weren't) then book here. If you want a British themed hotel go elsewhere, but you'd be foolish in our experience. Transfer time from airport was one hour. We rented a car for 38 Euros for a day and driving was very straightforward. Summary: Quality apartment, spotlessly clean, great location but slightly uncomfortable beds. Will definitely live with this when we visit again!
brilliant
excellent food welcoming staff and good size rooms, very helpfull
