An excellent hotel!
from A TripAdvisor Member
After looking for days and days for a hotel in Venice that was in central location, relatively spacious and family friendly, we didn't have much hope. This hotel ended up meeting all of our expectations and more. We rented the family room, which actually ended up being two hotel rooms joined by a private hall and bathroom. Everyone had their space. Everything was very clean and the furnishings were very Venetian. There was also excellent air conditioning, which was key in the middle of August. Another great plus about this hotel,...

great place, EXCELLENT location
from A TripAdvisor Member
This place is excellent. I highly recommend it to anyone. Couples, family, whatever. The location cannot be beat. It is located on a quiet street and is only about a 3 minute walk to St. Mark's Square. The staff was friendly and helpful, and spoke great english. The room was the typical small european size, but was clean and neat. Bathroom was a good size, and the A/C worked better than any other hotel we stayed in during our 17 nights around europe. The breakfast was very nice - cereal, fruits, breads, cheese, etc. All in all, a...

Great hotel for a family of 4
from A TripAdvisor Member
My husband, myself and 2 teenage sons recently stayed here. We had a really nice double room for the 4 of us with a private bath. One of the rooms even had an extra sink. It was in a great location within easy walking distance to St Marks Square. The only drawback is there were no elevators. So if you don't mind walking up the stairs carrying your luggage you will like this hotel.
Loved Al Piave
from A TripAdvisor Member
My husband and I enjoyed our stay in April 2004. The room made us feel at home and was extremely modern. The staff recommended wonderful places to dine, made reservations, and called an escort to help us find a restaurant. One night our neighbors were being noisy (the walls are very thin) and the desk clerk immediately took care of the situation. The wonderful smells from the bakeries were a pleasant way to wake up each day. I loved Hotel Al Piave. Once you find it (good luck) you'll never want to leave.
wonderful
from jjmb
we have traveled all over Europe, and I must say this is the best place to stay at. The rooms are very clean, the breakfast is good, but most of all the family and staff is incredibly warm and nice. they remember your name and will give advice on sights. after long walks through crowded Venice streets, it is nice to come back to the ideal location of this hotel. Do not hesitate to reserve this hotel if you are going to Venice. I cannot say enough good things about Al Piave!!
Excellent and romantic
from A TripAdvisor Member
We stayed at this hotel one night in a normal room which was ok but maybe a bit small and in need of updating. We then stayed in the newly refurbished suite which was amazing. The room was huge with enormous bed two double windows and a lovely bathroom. We were the first guests to stay in the room so we were a but spoilt but would definitely recommend this to any couple - it would make a lovely place to stay on a honeymoom or for a romantic weekend. The hotel was located very centrally between the rialto bridge and San Marco square...

Not a great choice, would not go back
from A TripAdvisor Member
We were excited about our stay based on reviews from Trip Advisor... however we were greeted with less than helpful staff when we arrived. We selected a Jr. Suite but were not told that it was a small apartment down the street. If you don’t do well on stairs make sure you are not in this unit. As you enter the small bathroom is downstairs, and a steep set of stairs takes you to the rest of the space. The walls and windows are very thin so you can hear every footstep and conversation occurring on the streets below all night long....

Solid Choice for Family of Four
from RRC9
Our family of four spent two nights at the Hotel Al Piave in March. We stayed in Rooms 210-211, a family suite of three interconnected rooms (a bedroom with twin beds, a bedroom with a king bed, and a bathroom). The rooms were adequately sized; the bathroom was small (with shower, no bath) but functional. The breakfast (included in the rate) is quite good, including fruit, cereal, rolls, juice, and coffee. Service at breakfast was excellent. We found the desk clerks to be competent but not overly helpful. One clerk recommended the...

Great location and price
from A TripAdvisor Member
My wife and I just returned from our honeymoon in Europe. We stayed at Hotel Al Piave Feb 26th - 29th. The room size was consistent with Europe, our king size bed was actually two twin beds next to each other...not to bad if you don't mind pushing them back together every once in a while. The bathroom was in good condition and clean - though not the largest. The location of this Hotel was nice. It's not to far from where you want to be, but on a busy or loud walkway or canal. The price was nice - since Carnival had just ended we...

Perfect for a solo traveller
from A TripAdvisor Member
Spent 4 sleeps in room 314 of the Al Piave (October 30- November 3rd, 2003). Chose it from the recommendations on this site, which is why I'm offering my comments. Clean, well positioned, easy to find, great staff, lovely breakfast, would stay again. My room, #314, was very tiny but more than adequate. I do recommend it. Next time however, especially if travelling with a companion, I will request room #315. The staff enduldged me with a tour and this much larger room and bath area is lovely and would be my choice. Happy travels!
