Fantastic stay in these apartments!!
from shelly10
My partner, two daughters and i have just returned from a 2 week holiday staying at these apartments. There's plenty of room in them,we were lucky to get an end room with windows which opened to the outside rather than into the corridor. The balcony was quite big aswell. They are kept clean with the cleaners in everyday apart from Tuesday. All the staff were friendly, on leaving as we got to the airport my daughter realised she had left her diamond ring in the courtesy room. We phoned the hotel straight away and they went to look for it. They couldn't find it then as she had left it on the seating area and was hard to spot. Since arriving home we have been in contact with Mario on reception and he has got the ring and is posting it out to us which is very good of him. We were half board, and the food was lovely. There was your basic breakfast including, cereals, cheese, ham, bread, bacon, eggs, etc. On an evening there was always a different fish, amd meat but the chips and potatoes were there every night,as was the salad bar. The pool area was always kept clean aswell,we saw the cleaners mopping most days. We always managed to get a sunbed and parasol. Water polo was played everyday which was entertaining to watch. The evening entertainment was good, this included an Elvis tribute,Tom Jones tribute,a knife thrower and belly dancing. We hired a car for 3 days while we were there, and if you book with the hotel it gets delivered to the hotel and they pick it up again. We would definetly go back to Sa Coma and stay at these apartments.
OK for a standard beach holiday

My partner and I are both in our late 20s and, although we don't have children, the thought of spending a week in a quiet resort rather appealed to us. After the awful UK summer of 2007 we decided to book a last minute trip to a sunny, clean resort with a good beach and clear blue sea and on that basis Sa Coma certainly didn't disappoint. However we did have in mind some authentic Spanish atmosphere to compliment this - with restaurants serving delicious seafood and paella and bars serving sangria by the jugload. Unfortunately as the resort obviously targets young families and retired couples this was sadly lacking, the scene dominated by cafe-type restaurants serving rather bland burger and chips or meat and veg meals. The neighbouring resort of S'Illot (just a short walk away) had a slightly better offering restaurant-wise and we managed to find a couple of decent places to eat here. We booked our holiday through TravelRepublic.com, and managed to get a very cheap deal, however we were less than impressed with the company providing transfers from the airport to the hotel. Our flight landed in Majorca at midnight and we were feeling very tired and looking forward to getting to our apartment as quick as possible. After a long wait for our luggage we proceeded to the transfer desk only to wait about half an hour in a queue before someone told us to wait outside to be called for our bus. Unfortunately this involved another long wait before we were put into a mini bus with 3 other couples. As we were last to be dropped off, we didn't arrive at our apartment until 4am! Our stay at the Paraiso Apartments was very pleasant. Our apartment room was a decent size with a fair sea view but a spectacular view of the surrounding mountains. Unfortunately the air conditioning didn't work on arrival which meant the apartment had a stuffy feel, however this was quickly repaired when we reported it. There were plenty of sunbeds around the pool area, although the pool itself was surprisingly small given the amount of space in the apartments grounds. All in all this resort is solely aimed at British and (mostly) German young families and elderly couples looking for a cheap but pleasant getaway - and on this basis it is fantastic value. However the lack of Spanish atmosphere may disappoint some.
Lovely relaxed atmosphere

This is a clean family orientated apartment complex, ideal if you wish to have a relaxing holiday. The apartment, although compact is very clean, with maid service 6 times a week, fresh towels on these days and fresh bed linen twice a week. The layout of the apartment left a lot to be desired - the kitchen area being a sink and hob, with fridge(which didn't quite work) underneath, plus microwave. However there was no space to place a kettle, as the electrical sockets(2) were sited right next to the sink, so if you wanted a cuppa you had to balance it precariously on the corner of the sink. The bedroom window opened out onto the corridor, so at no point during the holiday were we able to open the curtains, let alone the window. I can say however, that the beds were very comfortable, even the sofa beds were singles and of the same construction as those in the bedroom. The complex is very central, offering easy access to the pubs, restuarants and beach. All in all, other than the layout, we would recommend these apartments to familys requiring basic holiday accomodation.
Really pleasant place to stay.

After a fair few bad experiences I am fairly fussy where we stay for our family holiday. The kids want it to be within walking distance of a good sandy beach, I like walking distance to some places to eat / shop etc. This place fitted the bill perfectly. It's 3 minutes maximum walk to one of the most lovely beaches we have visited - absolutely gorgeous sand, clear sea. Even in the middle of August there was always room on the beach. The shops / restaurants (on the main road) in Sa Coma are two minutes away. The apartment itself had a sea view (I think most of them do unless you are on the lower floors). It was kept very clean (not once did we see so much as an ant crawling around). It was well equipped and had air conditioning. The shower was excellent and we had a good supply of hot water at any time of day. Nice pool, although a little on the small side. There are the usual problems re sunbeds - i.e. people getting up ridiculously early to try and reserve the sunbeds. The hotel try and stop this practice by putting up notices saying that towels placed on unattended sunbeds before 8am will be removed to reception. All that happens in practice is that someone from the family sits with the sunbeds until 8am! However, it's not a huge problem - the sunbeds around the pool get taken up but the hotel has some other sun terraces with sunbeds which never got full. The snack bar was reasonably priced and did a good range of snacks - we especially liked the fresh fruit platter which was 4.50 euros and contained a beautifully presented selection of fruit which was more than enough for our two children to enjoy. Avoid the hotel restaurant for breakfast though - it is over-priced (at 10 euros each) and is the usual buffet selection of eggs, cereal etc. None of it was particularly appetising really. If you stay in these apartments then make sure you have items in stock for breakfast - there is nowhere we found in Sa Coma that serves food before 11am (which is why we ended up eating in the hotel restaurant the first morning). The reception staff are incredibly helpful and friendly, as are the bar staff. The only slightly negative point (other than the over-priced breakfast) is that the apartments can be a bit noisy if you are trying to get to sleep before 11pm (take ear plugs). The balconies all look out over the pool / bar area where there is a small stage for the hotel provided entertainment (some of it is quite good, some is pretty dire) which is on from around 9-11pm. At the back of the hotel there is another hotel and from the apartments you can hear the other hotel's entertainment (The Rocky Horror Show in German one night). It is all quiet from 11pm though. This hotel was occupied by British families - it had a nice friendly atmosphere, no lager louts or other people spoiling everyone else's enjoyment. All in all I felt that this was a reasonably priced, very well located and pleasant place to stay. I tend not to go back to the same place twice but if I did then I would go back here.
Great for a very reasonably priced holiday

We booked this holiday through a website called Travel Republic and booked the flight, transfer and hotel separately. This was a new experience for us. I had booked the Hipotel Hipocampo Playa in Cala Millor but we were booked into Paraiso Apartments in Sa Coma instead. Never got quite to the bottom of why but never mind we really enjoyed our stay. One of our suitcases failed to turn up at Palma and Ramon and Mario on reception rang Iberia for us and we got it back within 24 hours much to our relief. They couldn't be more helpful not just with that but with every query we had. They said that Hipocampo Playa had mostly German tourists so Paraiso was better for us being about 95% English. Our apartment was a fair size. My oldest son is 14 and 5ft 7ins slept comfortably on the sofa bed. The two sofa beds were in an L shape and there was plenty of room for both my boys. The apartment was well maintained, decorated and equipped. There was plenty of hanging space and hangers in the wardrobes. We were lucky enough to be in Apartment 301 which was at the end. We had sun on our balcony all day and a lovely view of the sea. Being at the end we had the added bonus of having a window in our bathroom so we had a sea view when we showered!!! There was plenty of sunbeds as there are four terraces. Perhaps the two upper terraces could have had a few more umbrellas though. The usual story - you had to get up early to get the best sunbeds! I usually set our towels out between 8.00 to 8.15 and normally got good beds. The pool was lovely but perhaps a little on the small side about 3.00 - 4.00 pm which seemed to be the "peak" time for swimming! The pool area was very clean and well maintained. There was entertainment every day which was provided by Kristin who was absolutely brilliant. All the little girls seemed to love her. Usually there was water aerobics at 10.30. Some mornings or afternoons there was water polo which my husband and boys joined in with which was very popular. My boys also did rifle shooting one afternoon. The evening entertainment was usually a mini disco for the small children held at 9.00 pm. At 10.00 there was usually bingo, a band, karaoke or some other form of entertainment. It was all very enjoyable. We usually went to eat out and then came back in time for the 10.00 pm entertainment. We only went for a week but two places I would recommend to eat are China City (Chinese meal for €5.95 a head - which was very tasty). Go out of apartments, turn left and keep going - it's opposite the taxi rank. Also nice was a pizza restaurant which had a dome roof. Go out of apartments turn right and go towards the seafront. Lovely sangria there!! Sa Coma beach was lovely. The water was clear and warm and about a 3 minute walk from Paraiso. We got a pedalo out for €10 an hour which was fun. On the whole this was a great holiday which was reasonably inexpensive. If you don't have children though I wouldn't recommend it. Not sure how many would be staying there in term time though.
Great hotel

This was a last minute booking and we changed hotels just a couple of days before we flew due to bad reviews on another hotel (Sa Coma appts). We were so pleased we changed hotels & found this hotel to be ideal .We are family with 2 children 7 & 14 and the location, staff & people we met made this holiday a fantastic experience. There is loads of sunbeds & as the area around pool is on 4 different levels it made it feel less busy. The top area was empty most of the time. The hotel is only 5 minute walk to main area & shops which was great as it is quiet at night around the hotel. The Royal Oak pub does great large portions of home cooked food & the kids loved the Britannia & the kareoke where they met up with their friends every night. Lovely small resort which makes it much more friendly & relaxed. Would definately stay at this hotel if we went back.
Loved it!

Have just arrived back from Sa Coma. We booked a late deal, allocation on arrival for my husband, myself and his 16 yr old son. Was a bit apprehensive about what we might end up with. Need not have worried though. The paraiso apartments are great. Good size apartments, nicely furnished. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Nice pool, but we went to the beach , which is a few minutes walk away. Did not see much of the entertainment as we were out every night. The apartments are central to everything. Sa Coma is not a massive resort, but there is something for everyone. Couples and families would like it there. Majorca is still a good place to go if you are on a budget. The food and drink is still cheaper than most places. A good day out is on one of the glass bottom catamarans. We took one of these round the coast and to the Caves of Drach. Fantastic day out for all ages. I would not hesitate to reccomend the resort of Sa Coma or the Paraiso apartments.

Room very large and comfortable. Staff very helpful, friendly and entertainment from "Billy", best holiday entertainment ever had. Only slight complaint was air conditioning not very efficient. However had a fab time, best holiday in years, loved apartments, and reosrt of Sa Coma. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend, especially for families.

Great family place , the hotel is in a brilliant location . it is beside the beach and the town. The hotel is lovely and clean.
We have just returned from a week at the Paraiso Appartments and had a fantastic time. The appartments have everything you need for self catering (except for an oven) and nice and clean and fresh. Location is great with a short walk to the beach and lots of bars and places... more
