" NEVER EVER EVER AGAIN "
Submitted By: wheelbarrowFood rubbish. Beach rubbish. Nowhere to go at night apart from the hotel. Air conditioning non existent. Only one bar and that was so busy no other bar to just have a quiet drink so we sat in reception most nights and used the waiters. Overall holiday was very very poor and on return home have had to seek medical advice after my 13 year old son is still very ill a week after coming home.
Advice: DONT GO!
Activities: Quad biking and the plane ride home

Submitted By: hannahrussell18When we arrived our room was pretty shabby but when we told Thomas Cook they had us moved within 2 hours which is brilliant considering the hotel was supposedly fully booked (being the first week of Summer Holidays). The room we moved to was lovely, always clean, nice view from the balcony!
Swimming pools both great although very hard to get a sun bed due to mass of people, but that would happen wherever you went!
Food great although did get slightly repetitive towards the end, but if you're not a great eater like me then great!
Bar excellent, waiters always smiling and joking, smaller soft drinks bars for the kiddies too!
But the best part was the Animation Team. Those guys are absolutly AMAZING, they work from 9 am to midnight, always full of energy and having a joke around! I went out clubbing in nearby Sousse with them one night where the team had all picked their fav. girl to go with them :P ended up havina REALLYY fab time and such a laugh!
Would deffinately recommend it, lots of families there, loads to do for the kiddies and a nightclub etc for older ones.
Overall a realllyyy great holiday, creid all the way home and wish i was back there now!!!
Advice: Great location, weather flawless, didn't see a cloud in the whole two weeks!

" Vile horrific place! "
Submitted By: rosie29We arrived at the hotel Houda at 11pm at night to men on stilts looking through the windows of our coach. As we walked through the main entrance doors i could not belive that this was where we were going to be staying, groups of young teenagers shouting and drunk and being drooled over by the animation team. We had booked ground floor rooms as we have young children but we ended up on the first floor with no lifts to get up there and we had to carry the buggy up the stairs. The rooms were very basic but quite large.
We went down to get a drink before bed and there were just scruffy plastic tables and chairs outside to sit round. There was not a great selection of drinks it has to be said.
On awaking the next morning it dawned on us that this stay was going to be the holiday from hell, the breakfast was terrible. not a lot of choice at all.
We couldnt find any free sunbeds at all and had to sit on the beach which was covered in fag butts and we were mithered all day by the sellers on the beach.
We ended up having to pay one of the waiters to put out our beach towels each day and we got a good spot by the childrens pool. It was completely packed around the pool and you could hardly move, club music was played from 10am all day round the pool very loud and the animation team bothered you constantly and could be quite rude to you if you did not give them the attention they required from you. Our children were turfed out of the little pool so that the adults could play volleyball with the animation team dessed up in bras and stockings. The animation team spent a lot of time mithering young girls around the pool even though a lot of women seemed to like the attention and jumped around wearing thong bikinis and not a lot else. Dont get me wrong im not a prude but with my young children with me it was totally unsuitable and I was very unhappy about them witnessing some of the sights there! My advice is DO NOT TAKE YOUNG CHILDREN HERE!! It would have been lovely to have seen a bit of what the real Tunisia is like and their culture but the hotel has got completely the wrong idea.
Advice: Scruffy
Activities: Camel rides
" Lots of fun "
Submitted By: char lWe went on the camel trip which was quite fun, staff were brilliant as was the entertainment.Had a lovely welcome with cocktails, although my cousin who came did have to wait for a room as hers wasn't ready.
Overall we had a brilliant time,we had a few cloudy days so we went to the indoor pool.My son only joined in with the kids club when they played where we were but the team were lovely to the children that i saw and very caring and attentive if they hurt themselves.
The animation team were really friendly and always dressed up and happy to sit and have a chat or get you salsa dancing! :-)
Rooms were kept very clean although a few things in the room could do with replacing eg;curtain rail was removing itself from the wall!
The only real bad complaint was the food,it was very much repeated lunch and dinner.I didnt really touch the meat as some you could see clearly wasn't what they were sayin it was but im a massive food lover i didnt complain of being hungry once.Although u do have to buy the ice-cream when your not in the restaurant which i thought was a bit bad! The kids loved it theres a few little shops on site and quite a few trips you can go on such as quad biking. The beach was lovely although they say you get the pedaloes for free but this is only once, for twenty minutes and you have to be persistant to get on one.
We did have a great time and would definately consider returning.

" Its ok "
Submitted By: kelly_shaynefood was ok at best, some things put out were delicious, though more often than not it was re-heated stuff seemingly put together from the last meals left overs. be very careful of the meats, the chicken was left red and bloody but charred on the outside, we had to be very careful with our kids as to what they ate aswell as there were bits of bone in almost every meat dish. all 4 of our family were ill with stomach bugs for at least 2 days of the 11 we stayed, and as we were only using bottled water, it was very likely it was the food.
the animation team put on fantastic shows, the fire show in particular was awesome, as was their dancing, but during the day we found them to be irritating and would follow the women in our party and bug them for the duration of the holiday with some occassionally rude remarks. they also see no problem with pushing people in the pools with no warning, and taking clothes from around the poolside and wearing them round,so leave nothing unattended!
cleaners were great, very helpful, left us lovely sheet swans on our bed every day with a fresh flower on their head, nice to come into, and would also ask whens best for them to clean without disturbing us.
the whole hotel was clean and tidy, staff were very friendly, especially the waiters, and the kids loved the attention they gave them.
pools nice and clean, water slides a lot of fun, kids loved them, though be careful as they tend to let people shoot down without the last person being out of the way.
overall a nice place to stay, but we wouldnt return there as there was simply not enough to do, the kids were bored after just a few days, even with trips to monastir and the camel trek, spent most of the time in the pools just trying to keep them entertained without being too hot. the taxi drivers drove us mad with their constant begging to take us anywhere as soon as we stepped foot out of the hotel grounds, and the horses with the carts looked miserable and under-fed, heart braking to see them strapped into their carts in the blazing heat of the day with no water or shade. i would say it is not a place to take children under maybe 8-10 years old, so they are old enough to join in properly with the kids clubs, and have fun away from mum and dad. our children are 4 and 5, and were not really quite old enough to make the most of it, even though the kids club is aimed at 4+.
not a place for animal lovers either, with the horses in carts in the blazing sun covered in flies and some foaming at the mouth, the stray malnourished dogs, skinny feral cats, and camels with wire bent around their noses and chains over their faces, i found the whole time quite depressing in this way, i am pleased not to have to see this again.
we wont be returning to tunisia, for the amount the holiday cost us, im sure we could find a far better holiday for the family.
Advice: We wont return, but ok for a few days just to sample the local way of life.
Activities: The Italian restaurant served lovely food, but only 1 visit per person per stay.

We have never been so ill in all our lives, the rooms were absolutely disgusting and the stench of raw sewage as you walked down the corriders was vile. The food if you could pronounce it or work out what it was supposed to be was unedible and covered in flies permanently, you basically have to live on pizza for a fortnight if you last that long. The doctor,if thats what he says he is,sits smoking in a dirty tunic and wants money off you for the injections that he insists you need, what happened to basic hygiene and travel insurance. We paid over £600 just to get out of the country and had to bluff our way at the airport in looking well enough to get on the plane,we have had no money offered back to compensate us for our holiday from hell as we left of our own accord and had no medical evidence to back us up...my advice is dont ever go to this hotel and put your family through the absolute nightmare that we experienced.
