Hesperia Fira Suites

We were on a tight budget after spending a week on a cruise and this hotel had a 5-star rating with a tremendously affordable price. We had 3 rooms in total (5 adults and 2 children). Each suite was well equipped with a large open room (kitchen/dining/living room), large bathroom with standup shower and large bedroom with king bed (or two twin). The units also had flat screen tvs and the appliances were all in good working condition. We were suppose to stay only 3 nights but extended our stay for 6 nights. The room was clean, very modern and comfortable. It was nice to have an espresso maker in the room with complimentary coffee. There was also a small kitchen with fridge to keep things to snack on. The hotel is somewhat off the beaten track from the heart of Barcelona but we found the Metro station within walking distance and not that big of a deal to use. My wife and I stayed at Hesperia Fira Suites from May 23 to 27th 2009 and we enjoyed so much the hotel. The room was nice, well decorated, large. The breakfast was enjoyable. There´s free wifi and transfer to the Barcelona Airport too. Hesperia Fira Suites is 3 minutes walking to the metrô station what means that the distance from Barcelona downtown is not a problem too. We recommend this hotel .

Stayed at this hotel for a conference in Hesperia Tower, which is 25 meters beside the suites. The Fira Suites is a great hotel, it is very nice and clean, and the staff is very nice, and speaks english so everyone should be able to understand them easily. Breakfast is not what you would expect of 5 stars though... The suites are designed very nice, beautifull tile floor in living room and bathroom. The only thing you could wish for, was a better view. Why have we named this review 'Starved and Stranded'? Well because that is how we feel at the Hesperia Fira Suites. There is nothing near these apartments. If you want to go out for dinner you must travel into the centre of Barcelona (approx 40 mins by metro). Moreover, if you want to cook beware that the local supermarket is shut more often than open. My hsband and I and another couple stayed at Hesperia Fira for 6 nights for the New Year's 2008 and loved it. The suites are excellent with a beautiful living room equiped with everything you might ever need including a nesspreso machine - which I especially enjoyed. The bedroom was also excellent as well as the bathroom and the staff very friendly and helpful.
