Me and my fella went on the 4/09/09 and stayed for a week in the coma gran and we were so impressed. Hotel spotless, staff friendly and helpful, ideally placed near all amentities...what more can i say. We really enjoyed this hotel and are looking to go back next year with our kids. Sa coma itself not the liveliest place on earth but enough to keep you amused for for a week.. ate most of the time in th e royal oak the portions you get are huge and great value for money there sunday dinners were excellent. The kings head on a night was the place to be with kareoke, live shows and a disco every night till 3am (top spot). We visited the beach which is so clean and even had a massage from a chineses woman for 10 euros was well worth it....but be warned they cover you in oil to do it and if you dont wash it off in the sea and reapply your sun cream you will fry trust me i was like a crisp for 2 days ouch,,,,,, all in all really enjoyable time and would highly reccomend it to anyone couples or families (the evening entertainment is for families we felt like fish out of water on the one night we spent in the hotel)

The Coma Gran hotel is truely amazing. This hotel is a dream come true with absolutely everything available for your saisfaction. The complex is beautiful. The reps are fantastic, the entertainment is out of this world and recieving 92% last week makes the entertainers in the Coma Gran the best thomson entertainers in the world at this point in time, trust me its a fact. The staff are extremely helpful and will do everything possible to ensure you have a fantastic holiday. If you have kids then this is the place for you. The entertainment starts in the morning and finishes in the evening with absolutely every game imaginable. Everyone is so friendly and if you are in a group looking for a great time, with kids or even as a happy couple this place is sure to tickle your fancy as it has everything.
I have been coming to this hotel for 10 years and still ticks everybox. 3* is an insult as this place is top notch. Dont belive me, try it for yourself you illnot be dissapointed!!

We have just returned from a wonderful holiday at the Coma Gran. From the moment we arrived we felt we had made the right choice. The reception staff were friendly and easy to understand and the hotel was sparkling clean. The rooms have a very small kitchinette area, so if we hadn't have gone half board I'm not sure how easy it would have been to use it for two weeks, but it had all the utensils. The beds were comfortable and the cleaners were in every day except Wednesday. The only real problem with the rooms is that in the case of the one bedroom appartments they do back onto the corridor so can be quite noisy if you are at the beginning of it. The food at the hotel was brilliant, lots of choice for the kids and amazing food for the adults especially on Gala Night, and the restaurant staff were lovely really putting the children at ease and helping where they could. The pool side was always very clean and tidy, only complaint was that guests put their towels out very early in the morning so if you go down after 8.00 am you were left with the unfavourable areas. There is also a play and climbing area for kids next to the pool which is very new. All the reps were brilliant, the kids loved them and the kids clubs were enjoyed tremedously. The beach is within a five minute walk but the beds are very expensive so take towels. Overall a really lovely time was had and we would go back.

TERRIBLE OF MAKING THIS PLACE A 3 STAR !
This place is set on a wonderful part of Majorca . It has lots of restraunts outside the hotel . When i saw some reviews i was dreading this . But when you walk in to see a big marble stair case , comoputer lounge , glass windows , great staff , large pool , fantastic kids club english kids and adult entertainment . Wow your blown away . If going to restraunt id recemmond going to the HAPPY BAR ! Try there chicken burger , its delicious .Its a 5 min walkaway from a not so crouded beach . go about 6 pm for a fantastic time . Rooms are very clean !
1 FAULT about this . The bus journey . 1 and a half hours on a bus is a l;ong time . And when you get there at a local time of 4 am it takes forever .
GO HERE FOR THE BEST HOTEL EVER . If i would rate hotels i would rate this one 5 stars . Defo not 3

Just got back from a week at the Coma Gran , it appears to have had a re furb since I was there 2 years ago and the rooms are now much better with a sofa bed in the lounge which was very comfy. The restaurant food was very good and as you are allocated a table for the duration of your stay theres non of the hunting around for somewhere to sit.
We had a 5 year old with us and he was as happy as larry all day playing in the pool and taking part in the organised games and the new football coaching school they have started .
Overall a very very good hotel , yes there is the usual problem with sunbeds being bagged as early as 8am but thats something the hotel should sort.

we stayed at the coma gran for 2 weeks. we had a fantastic time. the reps are fabulous and look out for the children and are aklways smiling and happy.
sa coma resort is beautiful with lots of shops and nice bars to eat. we ate every night at The Royal oak but most nights we had to queue to get in. Run by husband and wife you can see your food being cooked. The service is really quick, plenty of time to get back for the entertainment and there was paper and crayons on hand to keep the kids busy, and a lollipop at the end.
sa coma is a beautiful family resort. The entertainment at the kings head was fab and
enjoyed every night in there.
would definately be going back again next year.

We loved it

We have just returned from our holiday at the Coma Gran Aparthotel and absolutely loved it.
We went on 19th October and had no trouble whatsoever with getting sunbeds by the pool. There were enough people there for my two children aged 3 and 4 to make friends with and yet it wasnt too busy to cause any problems with grabbing sunbeds!
The food was lovely at the hotel they put on a great spread and the full english breakfast was delicious.
The location is great too, being only a few minutes from the beach and bus stops. There was a supermarket just outside the front of the hotel which made it easy to top up the fridge.
I have to say that the entertainers were absolutely brilliant, with Nick Nack Nickers and Naughty Nicky being exceptional. They amazed me how even when the kids wouldn't leave them alone after they had finished for the day, they never had a hint of being fed up with it and indeed carried on entertaining them!
The children didn't use the kids club much, apart from one party night which my daughter enjoyed as she got a certificate and a prize at the end of it!
They loved Thomson the Dog and I can see we will be going back for years to come just to see him!
We went on a great trip to the "Pirates Adventure", with Quarterdeck tickets, it was an brilliant show and definitely worth the money. Be prepared for kids to wand the 7 euro swords and 5 euro bandana's though - it's a well oiled money machine :). That aside, you really would be missing out if you didn't see this show!
There were a few niggles. We went on a trip to Palma + Palma Aquarium and it was a waste of money really, we didn't have enough time in either location to do anything worthwhile and as soon as we got to the aquarium the kids needed to eat, so we ended up only having an hour to look round! I think the trip would have been much better if it had been a whole day in one place, Palma is a really interesting city and the Aquarium is amazing.
If you can't get a whole day trip in the one place, I'd recommend finding your own way there as you really do need more time.
The other niggle was the food on the plane.. on the way out we had the most revolting "sausage and mash" along with a really sickly dessert it was a complete waste of money. The food on the way back though was much nicer.
Finally we lost our case and on arriving at Birmingham Airport were directed to checkou desk 28, only to find no-one there. Finally a porter came to our rescue and found that far from being unattended the girl was in the office and only came out at his insistence. She was really unhelpful and bordering on rude when my father in law wasn't sure what she meant when asked for our baggage tickets.. we didn't know they had been stuck on the back of the booklet..and she didn't offer any suggestions as to where they might be..
Having said all of that, you could not fault the hotel, the accomodation or the wonderful entertainers, so we would definitely go back again. Perhaps though this time we might skip the in flight meal!

This Hotel had everything we needed...

Sep 2008, Miss A Bowey

This Hotel had everything we needed for a nice family holiday. I have twin boys who are three years old and they really enjoyed themselves. However they are very shy so didnt make use of the kids clubs which was a shame.
There was two childrens play areas within the hotel grounds which were both in the shade and the boys loved to play in these. Also they both enjoyed the pools.
Generally i didnt rate the hotel entertainment. It was very repetetive. Also we Brits give the Germans a run for their money with the sunbed situation. However all said and done overall the Hotel was very good .
Sa coma itself is a nice enough resort with a lovely beach. We found the best restaurant was The Oasis which sells Spanish cuisine and also has a bouncy castle and slide for the kids. We ate there at least four times.
It is worth going into S'illot which is the next resort along but within walking distance. It has lovely restaurants and a great little amusement park for the kids.
It is worth hiring a car for a few days and having a look around as the excursions are so expensive. Cala Agulla beach in the Cala Rajada area is gorgeous with little rock pools that the boys loved.
All in all Majorca is a lovely place and liked Sa coma but would probabaly try a different resort next time. Would of given this hotel a 10 but went to the Sirenis Atlantic Aparthotel last year in Ibiza and standard was so high dont know if we will ever find another hotel that will compare. However in terms of our childrens enjoyment this is the best family holiday we have had so far.

Had a fantastic time here.Hotel is big and welcoming, reception staff always available and very helpful.Rooms were lovely, maid service was great,in 6 days, off on a wednesday but we were made aware of this on arrival.
Pool area very busy and was always a struggle to get a sunbed unless u were 1 of the many who went down before sun up to reserve theirs then not turn up till about 2pm for them.Spent about 10 days out of 14 down the beach because of this but was well worth it as the beach was amazing.Bought a lilo and a parasol for the beach(for our daughter) as it could work out quite expensive,on 1st day we were 18 euro for 3 beds and parasol,9 euros after we bought lilo etc.
Restaurants all pretty British, chips on offer with almost everything but other alternatives available if u asked.Cafe Del A Mar was outstanding, very reasonable prices, also if u head up past Kenna's bar there is a steak house which is brilliant(only says steak house on front,no name?).
Sa Coma itself is a lovely resort, but quite limited on decent places to eat, find yourself repeating yourself after a week.
The hotel entertainment was on from about 10am till midnight, all good fun,and up to u if u want to join in,night time acts all good and the Thomsons staff work tirelessly and keep everyone well entertained.
Kids clubs are very good, always different themes for the kids and our daughter always came out very happy and sweaty.
We'd def come back to Sa Coma, maybe another hotel as some others in the resort look amazing but the Coma Gran is well worth it.
PS there is an amazing little pattisserie cafe at the bottom of the road, ideal for a coffee and cake
