Heliotopos Hotel

We stayed at this hotel in mid September. Our room was #26 and it was great!. Yes, they are cave styles, but quite charming. Ours was a two level with the door entering the top level with a small living area and double doors that open up to the fantastic view. There was also a small balcony/patio with 2 chairs to enjoy it. The bedroom was on the lower level, but had the same small patio and doors which showcased great scenery. The bathroom was small but efficient and clean. We have stayed in the hotel for 3 nights booking their 3 day special for 650 euro. Our room was a white washed cave which exuded terrible musty odour. I smelled all the sheets and they stenched of mould. There were no windows but just the front door to get the air in. We asked to be moved to a better place, however reception said that they have some rooms that are more above ground (not dug in a volcanic rock) but they are taken. Heliotopos hotel is so beautiful in so many ways not only are the rooms so breath taking, but the service and staff are amazing. My husband and I were on our honeymoon and we found this hotel to be everything we wanted from the rooms being so clean and beautiful and the view words can't describe how stunning it is, the breakfest is so delicious and and the service is #1. About 2 months before I left to Europe for a business trip, I wanted to do something really special for my longtime girlfriend. We stayed at Hotel Heliotopos for four nights in late July 2005 to commemorate our marriage. We had a symbolic wedding ceremony and also a photo shooting arranged by the hotel. Everything turned out to be a perfect choice. Those days in Santorini left in our heart unforgettable memories an ideal honeymoon could make. It was only my wife and I that held the sunset ceremony. I just finished a week in Santorini at Hotel Heliotopos. The following comments are from a couple with an average age of 30 who vacations way too much all over the world. The hotel is fantastic overall. It's in the perfect location for Santorni, Imergovoli. The reason that it's still close (5 mins by scooter, 10 mins by foot) to the main town Fira but still isolated enough to really relax. My wife and I were married at Heliotopos on may 30th of this year. Upon our arrival at the hotel, we were greeted by both an incredibly welcoming staff and the most breathtaking view we have ever seen. To all the hype about Oia sunsets I can only laugh!! We just came back from a trip to Greece. We visited Santorini and stayed at the hotel Heliotopos again, and it was a repeat great experience. As in our first stay the hotel staff was most helpful and very pleasant to deal with. Kudos to the hotel's management. Loved the delicious brunch - all over! One new thing in the hotel was the wine tasting they now offer. Not to be missed if possible, as the Heliotopos cave where the wine tasting is held is a great spot to enjoy a drink. Heliotopos is a great Hotel. We stayed for a bit over one week last summer and we enjoyed a very very good holiday. We like where the hotel is located, close to Fira so it is easy to go there partying in the evenings and to the beach for a long day swimming, after a late morning start? The good thing is that the Heliotopos homemade breakfast is served till past noon so we were able to have it most of the days.
