Great Staff........
I have stayed at both the Regent and the JW Marriott Accross the road..... The Regent looks like it was built about 20 years ago and has a slight dated feel to it. When they built it they did spend money on it and did a first class job but it is starting to feel a little dated inside. The Regent does not have proper bar.....a large sprawling lobby with a band playing makes it a little hard to meet people... Three restaurants.....an Italain, nothing special about the food and not really authentic italian , first class... more
Below par for KL
Stayed here with my wife on a recent business trip and our stay was disappointing. Yes, the room rate is cheap (rooms below 300 Ringgit a night), but you get what you pay for. We stayed in the more expensive "Club floor" rooms, but even these "superior" rooms failed to impress. Everything in the Regent looks a bit worn & tired. Also, the service is good, but not 5 star good. From 6pm onwards, a live band starts blearing music in the lobby, making it difficult to talk to each other whether you're having a drink in the bar or... more
Superb hotel
We stayed at the Regent in KL having previously stayed at other KL hotels such as the Mandarin and JW Marriott. While the Mandarin is still my favourite & faultless in every sense, the Regent is definitely very very close & better than the Marriott & others. The room was spacious and clean with great views, a huge comfy bed & sparkling bathroom. The glass lift that goes up the side of the building was great & the lobby & cocktail area relaxed and ambient. Breakfast is excellent, especially the egg chefs! The large pool is also... more
Superb
We arrived frazzled and were treated to the best hotel we have stayed at in Asia. The service was superb. The room cost was very cheap for a 5 star hotel. The pool was perfect and the gym area was exceptional. We would definitely recommend this hotel.
Weekend away at KL, recommended hotel !!
The hotel offers good deals on the web, i booked a room for the weekend at under 320 Ringitt. You can decide to fly in from singapore or take the bus, i would recommend booking in a executive coach, as the flight fares are very expensive, you may even try out the Train option. Back to the hotel - the lobby was large, lit by sunlight and quite pleasant in the day time. In the night, they have a good band which generally plays the blues. we dined at their italian restaurant and found the food very nice, also a good selection of wines. I... more
Great Service and Value for money
My company booked me over to the regent hotel in kuala lumpur. I was highly impressed with the greeting that i recieved at the lobby, the bell hop assistance (something that is unheard of in australia), the quick and efficient check in. The rooms are very homely with lots of wood furnishings and the airconditioning worked very well. The views from my room of the petronas towers were spectacular at night. Breakfast was good at the restaurant, i did not try the room service. They have a good gym and spa, i tried the gym though not the... more
5 Star Service, Great Location
I always look at Tripadvisor, if i am going to a new city or a newer hotel, just to get some feedback. I travelled to kualalumpur on business, with another colleague. He booked us into the regent and i only found out while we were on our way to the hotel. I did remember reading up about the hotels in the city and had seen some unflattering reviews about the regent. So, i was understandably apprehensive. All that dissappeared in a flash, when we entered the hotel. The doorman wished us with true warmth, the manager was standing to... more
Bad service & Blanket covered with Blood Stain !
For my next visit to KL, I won't be staying at The Regent KL ever again. I had such an awful experiences during my stay back then. The room rate that I paid(around US$90) was just not worth it. If you are expecting a clean hotel with great services Regent KL is definitely the WRONG option. I confidently suggest the duty manager on that day (21st January 2006), Fatimah Aziz, should go for another re-training on how to deal with hotel's guest to avoid future dissapointment for hotel's guests. This hotel is just not worth-it!
Good Hotel
Stayed at this hotel last week, the service was good, the food selection was expansive, the rooms were well maintained, good value for money deals on the net, all in all a good hotel. Will try and stay here the next time i come to malaysia.
New Year Trip
I broke tradition this year by not ringing in the new year in Singapore. My friends told me that it must be the kukoo nature that follows reaching 30, but i say - life is not the same without new experiences. Being Singaporean, i did my bit of research on the net and found that the better deals were all at The Regent on Bukit Bintang. I booked my room for about 140, with breakfast. When i reached KL, the hotel staff was kind enough to let me check in early and offered to plan my new years's eve for me. The staff were very polite, warm... more
