An excellent option to enjoy nature with comfort
from Angel&Angel
When we started our trip to Manuel Antonio, we were thinking of the exotic tropics. When we got to Gaia Hotel and Reserve we felt that we had reached Paradise: jungle, wild life and nature within the confines of the hotel. A place that has been thought out to make you feel simply good and relaxed: great service, great food, unbeatable room and common area, kind and totally service-minded and friendly staff, magnificent views and a lot of activities close to the hotel. Gaia also has a very original and unique set of infinity...

Worth every dollar you'll spend, for the service alone!
from sfcafox
Recently stayed with Hotel Gaia and Reserve and feel this is one of the top (if not THE top) hotels in Costa Rica. The hotel is small in size and large in customer service. I believe the property has 17 rooms and the hotel has it's own private wildlife reserve. You can walk with a guide and then enjoy the spa, the pool or a yoga treatment afterward. The view from the suites and villas is amazing. Food was total 5 star and the wine list was like wow! The hotel is managed and owned by two gentleman from the United States now living in Costa...

Great Vacation/Honeymoon Spot!!!
from Pitman's
We went to the GAIA Hotel and Reserve for our honeymoon in September 2006 and loved it! The staff prided itself on serving your every need. The hotel rooms were spotless and the food was delicious. The belgian waffles at breakfast were the best I ever had. It certainly isn't cheap to stay there but it was worth the cost. I would certainly upgrade to one of the suites as the studios do not have balcony's, so plan on spending at least $300-350+/night on a room-and that is during the rainy season. Prices jump up another $50-75+ during the...

The best hotel in Costa Rica hands down!
from sfcafox
Hands down the best hotel of our recent trip to Costa Rica. The hotel is small with only 17 rooms, has it's own private reserve and guides so you can book a 90 minute walk among it's grounds seeing sloths and monkeys and other assorted wildlife, followed by yoga treatments in the yoga room. (you've never had an experience until you walk among the monkeys and then treat yourself to a relaxing yoga session). The food was amazing and the wine list , HOLY COW! The hotel is owned and managed by two gentleman from the US who now reside in...

Tropical Paradise
from idearmas
I just returned from Costa Rica and had a wonderful stay at the Gaia Hotel & Reserve. I stayed 4 nights at the "Gaia Suite", which was just spectacular! The room was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. The master bath even included a shower with windows overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The Gaia is unlike any other hotel in the area. The level of luxury and attention to detail were just amazing. The hotel is brand new and everything is state-of-the art, including wireless internet access everywhere!! The property is also very...

Perfect end to Costa Rica honeymoon
from CFHM
After amazing stays at Tortuga Lodge and Lapa Rios, we ended our honeymoon in Costa Rica's only five star resort (in fact, the owner announced that they received a five-star rating during our stay there). GAIA is new and has all the ammenties of the best hotels in the world without the snooty factor. After a day ofhiking we still felt comfortable going to grab a drink at the roof top restaurant with an amazing vista of the Pacific Ocean. Quepos is walkable although the roads are a wee bit harrowing for a few blocks on the way down ...cabs...

Hoping to transition from lawyer to any job at Gaia - AMAZING.
from Natasha-Atlanta
I reluctantly write this glowing review, because I would prefer that we be able to book freely whenever we can escape to Gaia, but we enjoyed it so much that it would be wrong to neglect our favorite hotel. My fiance and I stayed at Gaia in June 2006 the week after he proposed and enjoyed every second. Having stayed previously at the Four Seasons on the Papagayo Peninsula (pre-Gaia, our favorite hotel), we were returning to Costa Rica with very high expectations. We were not disappointed. We arrived after a beautiful drive from San...

Every time you think of this place, you'll smile.
from Traveller312
I have just returned from Costa Rica and I’m the most relaxed I’ve been in years! Staying at GAIA was like the cherry on the ice cream sundae that is Costa Rica. GAIA is a new hotel in Manuel Antonio that claims to treat you like royalty. They certainly delivered on their promises. We were fortunate to be there for the opening of the new restaurant, La Luna. The food was incredible but the view is so stunning it steals the show. I was reminded of the time I ate at Windows on the World many years ago. La Luna’s views are...

It doesn't get any better than this!
from A TripAdvisor Member
All we can say is WOW! It started at the entrance of the hotel with a beautiful waterfall and little lake out front, and just kept getting better as we proceeded up a steep hill in little electric cars. The staff was so welcoming with a cold drink and a towel for each of us, which was so welcome after our long drive. They assigned us a ¨valet¨, which was a person that was at our service during our entire stay. He took us to our rooms (there were 4 of us) and proceeded to show us all the details of our ultra modern room. Again....WOW!...

Disappointing
from wondrousbella
Staying at Gaia was supposed to be the highlight of our trip to Costa Rica. We had read many great reviews of it, so were excited about staying there. Overall, it was a disappointing experience. First, the positives: 1) Great service -- everybody was amazingly helpful and seemed to genuinely care about the guests 2) Beautiful pool, nice views 3) Free shuttle service to Manual Antonio and Quepos Now, the negatives: 1) Very noisy -- instead of waking up to the sound of birdsong, we woke up every morning to car...
